I love the functionality of this app, and the accuracy of the alerts. However, I just wish they would make it work in portrait mode and not just landscape mode. Have the tiles move downward on the page when in portrait mode or make it scroll side to side. Having to run in landscape mode all the time is a tad annoying. Still baffles me. Currently app is not fluid as its supposed to be. It jumps to my home screen (on both phone and tablet) immediately after opening the app. It’s never done this before. I refreshed the app on my phone and it still does this. The only way to disable is to select the video and go full screen then toggle the “CC” at bottom right hand. Frustrating. Seemingly, the screen is automatically forced into the ‘landscape mode’. At that point, after entering the ZIP Code from the virtual keypad that is presented…. hitting “return” will not advance the screen, and the screen is “frozen“ in place so that the user cannot find any screen button to press to advance on from the ZIP Code entry box. The design and features feel outdated compared to other weather apps. Please take inspiration from FOX Weather — their app is modern, interactive, and packed with useful tools and alerts. WeatherNation has great coverage and meteorologists, but the app experience needs to catch up. Adding features like live radar improvements, better video integration, location-based alerts, and an updated interface would make a huge difference.
