When you’re a migraine sufferer, you are already spending thousands of dollars on expensive therapies often difficult to get insurance reimbursement for. The features are useful for barometric-triggered migraines, but ear plugs have no meaningful scientific basis for efficacy. It needs a log for non-migraine tracking. If I get an alert and put in my earplugs- and don’t get a migraine… I want to track that- along with the pressure changes and weather data. Only logging a migraine doesn’t help me find my sensitivity or migraine avoided days. Sure I can log it in a piece of paper- but if I have a digital version that goes everywhere with me, I don’t want to carry a notebook that I may lose or forget. ### 1/5 — Broken again *2025-10-29, version 6.3.0* 1. Fails to accept zip code for location. 2. When looking up via city, state gets hung up during search. 3. App updates appear to periodically cause location to be dropped and/or app to stop functioning until deleted, reinstalled, and reconfigured. Final step is they are supposed to send you an email to complete verification but that email never comes. I tried multiple email accounts, checked all junk and spam, and even emailed WeatherX with no reply at all. Support is non existent and so are the WeatherX + features I purchased with a yearly subscription. ### 1/5 — SCAM *2025-08-03, version 6.1.0* I purchased a 6 month subscription and have yet to receive access to the app premium features. The postcard removed with my earplugs has a QR code that takes me nowhere. Within the app, every time I attempt to plug in my subscription code it deadends there. I don’t feel this is a legit offering and want to warn others. Just purchase Earplane or some other similar product because it will be much cheaper and the app is a joke. ### 2/5 — App need work *2025-07-26, version 6.1.0* Earplugs are great but the app will not track where I am and most of the time I cannot update it to my current location (receive an error message). So I’m missing much needed notifications for pressure changes to decrease my migraines. So I decided to upgrade the app. Either I am not using it properly or I would like it to track symptoms other than migraine severity and if the ear plugs helped. I can’t even use the app to log a migraine day as every time I am on it it asks for a code and it is so inaccessible. What a TOTAL waste of effort and money, especially when I am in pain daily and don’t need this headache! Pun intended. I can confidently make/keep plans. *2026-08-14, version 6.4.1* I have to admit that I don’t have migraines, but I have severe rheumatoid arthritis. Barometric pressure affects my joint pain more than any other outside factor. If I can’t predict a major swing, no treatment helps enough after the pain happens, for me to function. It’s ruined so many plans in my life. WeatherX allows me to either prep in time or plan around major swings. If it affects migraines like RA, you need this. I had a hard time finding an accurate source of info, specifically for barometric pressure. Free & life changing, with literally no downside! I’ve recommend it to so many people, who have since thanked me. Customizing your threshold for notifications, is a lifesaver. Can’t comment on the ear plugs, but if migraines are as tied to pressure as RA, I’m sure they change lives. I wish I had a simple solution like that! They have been helpful in the past week I have been using them whenever I receive an alert the pressure is changing. So far they seem to help. They were a little itchy at first but I have adjusted. All around good product, also the customer service was excellent. But to my surprise these things really work at least for me, I have been having migraines since a cerebral hemorrhage in 12/2014. I take multiple migraine medication but since using WeatherX ear plugs I have been able to reduce some of my daily medication. I also get Botox Migraine and use prescription monthly preventative plus prescription meds for breakthrough migraines. Even if you just have the information to take your migraine preventative, the earplugs will save you from a lot of suffering.. my only advice is you’ve got to leave them in for several hours after the changes end. My brain needs a few hours of time for my brain to adjust to a new barometric pressure. otherwise I get a migraine as soon as I pull out the earplugs. You do want to have an extra pair on hand, as they will wear out after 84-96 hours use.
