### 5/5 — Perfect for everyone

*2020-10-11, version 4.0.6*

This app has helped me be a better runner and I never get shin splints anymore.
It motivates me and it’s backed with an excellent support team.
The key for me is that it forces me to maintain a quicker stride without any effort. The quicker stride in turn causes my pace to increase and my stride length to decrease which relieves pressure on my joints and allows me to maintain a middle foot impact consistently. I end up running longer distances and feel better throughout the entire process. I run with my dog so I don’t take advantage of the guided training as much , but the few times I’ve used it I was impressed.

### 5/5 — I love it!!

*2020-10-03, version 4.0.6*

This app is amazing, you don’t have to pay to do it past a week or something like all the other apps I’ve tried. It also promotes middles sized woman and not to diet, which I love. It plays music along with how fast or slow you are going to tell you to slow down or go faster. The music has unlimited skips too, and it’s free. When you do your cool down there is always a person telling you to keep pushing. No complaints this is an AMAZING app.

### 5/5 — Saved my running!

*2020-09-22, version 4.0.4*

Going into my 45th year of running I was starting to burn out and breakdown. My physical therapist videoed my run form and was quick to identify where age and bad habits were causing me problems. With some corrective PT we were able to address a fair amount of the body aches due to wear and tear (high school and college contact sports; 20 years USMC service). Regarding form and motion, she suggested my step count was too slow for the intensity of runs I was doing. She suggested to focus on step count to improve my effort and form (over-striding). Always into music and tech with running, I came across WeavRun in the App Store and decided to give it a try. Instant success for my step count and enjoying running again. Hard fast days or slow easy days, I have my running buddy playing great music and helping me find the right rhythm and intensity. Now going into my second year of Weav running and very pleased with music updates and new training programs. I highly recommend Weav to family and friends that are runners.

**Developer response:** 🤯 This made our smiles too wide! Thank you for sharing. We're absolutely thrilled you've been getting the most of our adaptive music and workouts. Kudos to you and keep up your hard work 💪

### 5/5 — Excellent App with Excellent Customer Service!

*2020-08-10, version 4.0.4*

I’m a homeschool mom and this app gives me a great start to my day! I depend on it now....I’ve been using this app for a few months. I have happily shared it with friends. I like to go for walks/ runs. It’s great exercise, fresh air, and clears my mind. I’ll start with a walk, but the music motivates you to run. Just pick up the pace for a minute and when the music picks up, you don’t want the beat to go back down! I recently tried the workouts. So motivating and I love that the instructor told me to smile! I would like to see a short HIIT run. 😉 Also, I never paid attention to my time per mile, but since this app gives you feedback during your run, I find myself trying to do better and improve with every use. I recently made a request for music and quickly received a response from the company. Awesome. Love the app! Thank you!

**Developer response:** Music to our ears! Ecstatic that you're enjoying our guided runs 🙂 Keep up your hard work!

### 5/5 — Absolutely love it!

*2020-07-21, version 4.0.1*

I’ve been using this app for awhile now, and can’t even begin to express how much I like it! I’ve been a runner for a decent amount of time, training for races but now mostly running for fun, and for the exercise, but this app was a game changer for me. I’ve heard of how important cadence is when you run, but never knew how to change it, or where to start. Then I found Weav Run. The app makes it so easy to work on your cadence, and stride, and how to adjust them to improve your runs. You can either set it to the steps per minute you want to be at, or have it sync to the pace you are doing. I like having it sync to my pace to see where I’m at, then have it be a set number so I can work up to where I want to be.
The music is great, and upbeat. They have a wide selection of genres, and pre-made playlists to fit whatever type of run you are going on. They are constantly adding new songs, and you can create your own playlist if you want to.
The new guided runs are amazing! I’ve never really done speed work before, and it can be intimidating for those of us who run for fun, but these guided runs explain everything making it such an easy process. They give tips along the way, and encouragement as you run. The different options are so great, and the perfect way to diversify your training runs. I now enjoy speed work!
Every aspect of this app is a unique, and creative way to take your running experience to the next level! Definitely give it a go!

**Developer response:** 🤯Thanks so much for your kind words. We're absolutely thrilled you've been getting the most of our adaptive music and workouts. Its music to our ears! Keep up the hard work 💪

### 5/5 — The running app I’ve been waiting for!

*2020-07-11, version 4.0.0*

I am terrible at picking music to match my pace. With this app I don’t have to! I can have my own music match my pace OR I can set it to a pace and have my music match that. Running to the beat has never been easier. The guided runs by Kelly Roberts are the icing on this incredible cake. I never thought I could do these hard runs but she makes it so easy and fun! Running faster than I ever thought I could!

### 5/5 — Running to a different tune

*2020-06-06, version 3.15.2*

I usually don’t run with music, but thought I’d give it a try. Let’s just say music speeding up and slowing down when you do is pretty cool! There is nothing worse when you’re listening to a playlist on your phone and a slow song comes on .... then you waste so much time fumbling with changing it and your whole pace is now jacked. This feature is amazing! And also the fact that I can set my tempo as well ... just amazing! Good job Weav Team!
Oh and to throw it out there, thank you SO much for allowing Weav to communicate and upload to Strava! Yas!!

### 4/5 — Really good app, works nicely

*2020-01-13, version 3.14.1*

I’ve been using this app for about a 6 weeks now, and it has been a very useful tool for me. The adaptive ability of the pace to the music is a game changer for training. It does cost a bit up front, but when you look at that price per month, it’s very affordable.
The app functions very well so far for me. There is only one complaint that I have, and that is the list of available music. For long training runs (1 hour plus), the playlists aren’t long enough unless you make your own playlist. Additionally, there isn’t a lot of variety of the type of music I generally prefer. That said, the popular playlists are the songs we all now and enjoy. They do seem to add a few songs each week, and I assume as the app gains more users, that list will continue to grow. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a deal breaker at all. Thanks to the developers for creating this technology! If you’re a serious runner, you will likely get your money’s worth out of this.

**Developer response:** Hey LukeL83 -- Thanks so much for giving such detailed and honest feedback. We're working on building our library with signed deals with Sony, Warner, and Disney, plus lots of major indie labels. So if you have any requests don't hesitate to message yourfriends@weav.io. The team is super thrilled you're getting the most out of our adaptive music and that it has helped make your training more engaging. Keep up the hard work getting those miles in 💪

### 5/5 — All time favorite app

*2019-12-26, version 3.14.0*

I discovered this app a few months ago. I noticed I ran better with songs that matched my pace so I began searching for an app that would allow me to change the tempo to match my pace. I stumbled up Weav run. In the past couple of months my pace has improved drastically. Sometimes 2 minutes per mile faster. I can’t believe it. I’m an old gal too. 55 next month. I even love your song choices. People probably think I’m crazy because I’m out there with a smile on my face. I can’t say enough good things about this app. It’s been life changing for me. I feel like my posture has improved too. I don’t know....for me there’s just something about a song that matches my pace. And when I want to kick it up a notch I set my pace at 180 and off I go. Thank you so much.

**Developer response:** 🤯Thanks so much for your kind words. We're absolutely thrilled you've been getting the most of the app. Its music to our ears you're improving your cadence with adaptive music. Keep up the hard work 💪

### 5/5 — Brilliant app

*2019-06-02, version 3.12.2*

I am new to this app, although it’s very easy to figure out. I’ve used it on the treadmill as well as outdoors. It’s pricey, and thought I might not like the music. Well, the app does the job. What I like best about it is helping me keep my cadence through the tough parts of workouts or hills. Where I would slow my cadence, probably significantly, The beat keeps me steady. I can assess my ‘tiredness’ honestly and usually stick to the beat. In truth, this actually makes the tough parts easier because all I’m thinking about is keeping to the beat. Focus on that, and boom, it’s done. And the tunes? They are fine. Sure, at 180 cadence, sometimes it’s a little weird, but I just don’t notice it. I’m just picking up the bass, picking up the beat. For building up my running form, this has been awesome.

I use the Apple Watch activity app bc it syncs to Runcoach...as others have noted, it’s preferable to be able to download a playlist to the watch, and not have to carry the phone. Hopefully this feature will roll out in the future, since other apps like Audible and Podcasts offer this.

**Developer response:** Wow! Thanks so much for your detailed review 🙂

So, so glad our adaptive music is helping you stick to the beat! We're hoping to offer streaming to the watch however right now this is a privilege only available to Apple Music. Stay tuned for when we can eventually roll this out.

Otherwise, we have so many other great features just over the horizon and we hope you get the most of those as well. Cheers!

### 4/5 — It's really good, but...

*2019-05-05, version 3.12.0*

I really love this app, i just started using it and it's so awesome, it actually makes me want to run. I normally hate running, but with this app, i can listen to some of my favorite songs while running, which makes me want to run even more. One thing though, is when i finish running, if i click the finish button, nothing comes up, it's just a blue screen, and it won't let me press anything. Since that happens, i have to go back and press discard or whatever, so i can save any of my runs or go back to them to see if i've improved. If you guys could fix that, it'd mean a lot.
thanks

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Absulutlely Useless without an Account

*2020-10-04, version 4.0.6*

The app provides absolutely no functionality unless you have or create an account. This is a Dark Pattern I keep seeing more and more apps use to force users to register for their service. The irony is I was willing to pay for music I like to listen through running. Because of this I will be uninstalling the app instead, something that could have been avoided if the app had a simple “Skip” button at the login/signup prompt.

Application developers need to realize that users aren’t interested in providing them with their email address or associating their Google/Facebook account unless the app proves to be worthy of it.

It is sad and disconcerting to see the Apple App Store promote apps like this without thoroughly vetting them.

### 1/5 — Don’t sign up for a free trial!

*2019-06-14, version 3.13.1*

I downloaded this app recently. It offered me a free 2 week trial, so I signed up. I was charged immediately! It turns out, I had already used my free trial (last year - I forgot!) but the app still offered it to me. I was charged, and Weav is refusing to refund my money. They need to change their app to not offer free trials to people who aren’t eligible for them.

As far as the app goes, I don’t plan on using it. It doesn’t have enough musical variety. Where’s the alt and rock?

Update: I have gotten a couple messages from the Weav devs telling me to contact Apple for a refund. I have requested a refund twice from Apple now and keep getting denied. Since this is a Weav app error, they should be sending me a check.

### 2/5 — Currently buggy

*2022-03-01, version 4.5.2*

I was barely able to use the app enough to know that it has potential, but it kept crashing on me. I even tried to restart my phone midrun, but the app would still crash after about 30 seconds of play time. For a while I was able to restart the music with my headphones, as long as I didn’t open the app again. The music is neat in how it changes speed with your cadence, but for me, the music sounds slow when I’m running at a strong pace, which encouraged me to slow down. I think if they could fix the buggy issue, it would be a good app for faster runners, but not someone on the slower side like me. (For reference, I averaged 10:00/mile while testing the app.)

**Developer response:** We are very sorry to hear about your experience. We’re aware of the bug with iOS 15.3 that causes the app to crash if it's in the background.

Firstly, 10:00/mile is not slow at all! But we hope you try our other "Fixed Tempo" mode. Some runners enjoy following a steady beat instead of music following them. We recommend setting the tempo around 160-175 bpm.

Update: We can confirm that iOS 15.4 fixes this issue, and is now publicly available.

### 2/5 — So much potential

*2021-02-11, version 4.1.1*

If the Apple Watch didn’t exist this would be a solid 5 star app, however, the reality is it does and the fact that this can’t run standalone to me is absurd. In fact even if you bring your phone along in a arm carrier or a small phone waist belt like I use, the I watch can’t even be used to skip a song!! I will give them that it’s free and the music tempo shift is pretty cool however, for all I could tell, they just warp the song’s tempo instead of transitioning into a song with an appropriate BPM for your cadence. It’s better then nothing, but working on utilizing the Apple Watch and using different songs to match tempo instead of just warping the beat would make this app flawless!

### 2/5 — Great features, sadly inaccurate

*2020-12-21, version 4.1.1*

I have been using Weav Run for a while now. I really wanted to like this app, as it has a near-ideal feature set for my running. Unfortunately, i have found it to be very inaccurate in its measurements. For example, during a run where I am going at a steady pace of roughly 8.5 minutes/mile on level ground, the app will wildly vary in my supposed pace - from as low as 6 minutes per mile (I wish!) to 14 minutes a mile. The app also does not save runs accurately. For example, after a short 23 minute run today (again at a steady pace), after hitting “save” on the run, my run time mysteriously changed to 19 minutes. This is an extremely common occurrence. My running cadence also is commonly saved incorrectly as well.

Bottom line - if the developers would only fix the most glaring measurement bugs, this would be a really great running app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! Could you please reach out within the app? Settings --> Help & Feedback, this way we can dig a little deeper into what's going on.

### 2/5 — The app crashed all the time these days and couldn’t get a hold of anyone!

*2020-01-25, version 3.14.1*

I have been using the app for almost 2 years.I liked this app a lot originally and think the subscription worth it. It helped me train for my first half marathon. There’s some bugs for the app before. I mailed the people in the app and they responded very fast. These days, after the most recent update of the app. I experienced app crashing all the time and it would not turn back on during my training which significantly affect my pace. I tried to contact people through the feedback in app but no one had replied me. I have to post on the app review now and might not renew my subscription for this year.

### 3/5 — Quits

*2020-06-12, version 3.15.2*

Update: the customer service has been great since I posted this review and followed up through the app. While I haven’t run with it since reinstalling, I’m upgrading the review because I can tell they care. Life got busy, but I hope to run again soon. They also reminded me that I’d used google to create my account, so when I thought my data was lost - it wasn’t.

Original: It just keeps quitting, won’t stay connected and run for more than a tenth of a mile. I’ll try 3 times and then have to give up. That’s now 3 runs in a row it’s done this after almost a month of working right. Glad I didn’t pay for it.

### 3/5 — Almost brilliant!

*2020-03-07, version 3.14.1*

I am one of those people who find running to music very distracting. The difference between my running cadence and the tempo of the music is very off-putting. So, I was very excited to try Weav Run. I tried the mode that adjusts to your running pace, but that seemed difficult to use. I deliberately changed from a slow jog to a fast sprint, but the tempo of the music did not seem to adjust—at least not very promptly. Perhaps I should have been more patient. I switched to fixed tempo easier to use. The user interface is very clear in this aspect. I found it a little hard to find a good pace—but that’s me, not the app. Once I figured out that 162 bpm was perfect for me, everything went smoothly.
My main criticism is that the actual music isn’t good. The selection is limited to performers I’ve mostly never heard of. The interface for downloading music is also unclear.
In my opinion, what would make the app a killer would be the ability to listen to your own iTunes songs. Obviously there would have to be some kind of pre-processing to prepare your favorite tunes for tempo adjustment, but I don’t see why this couldn’t be done. I wouldn’t expect this to work real-time. I’d be happy to make a playlist of songs from my iTuned library, process those through a PC application and then download those into Weav Run. Perhaps there is some kind of licensing issue, but if there isn’t, the feature I am describing would make the app a real keeper.

**Developer response:** Hey Citizen Smith! Thanks for giving us such detailed feedback! Our adaptive music format allows songs to be remixed in real time. Mp3s used in iTunes and streaming services don’t lend themselves for this type of dynamic remixing. That said, we’re working with the biggest labels to bring you the music you want to hear. We’re dedicated to bringing you the best running music experience, so please stick around while we grow our music library and release new amazing features we’re working on 🙂

### 3/5 — Needs work

*2019-02-10, version 3.7.7*

Great concept, would give more. My only gripe is, the song tempo increases as you run. Making some songs sound absolutely horrid. I went into this thinking there would be a "smart" function. One that changes the song to an appropriate song where the beats per minute match my steps per minute. However all it did was speed up or slow down the song making some songs end in a minute or lasting normal play time. I like My Lovin by En Vogue as much as the next person. But when it sounds like a Chipmunks remaster simply due to the fact that I increased my running speed then I have to simply say A for effort. Brilliant idea, poorly executed.

### 3/5 — Couldn’t find any rock or metal

*2019-02-01, version 3.7.7*

Put in all the info including my age height weight etc. (For reference Im only 14 so that may be the problem considering that people my age don’t really like rock or metal) but when I click on the music in the bar below, the only genres they had were pop, hip hop, edm, and dance. But boiled down 2/4 of those things are pretty much almost the same thing. The reason I’m giving it three is because they may have a feature I don’t know about yet. but still the fact that they didn’t have the basic genres (I.e rock, indie, classical etc) is really disappointing

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Elizabeth run

*2023-01-27, version 4.7.1*

Imagine if you were a long distance runner and you weren’t very good at it yet what would you do? My first experience with the app was really good because this app is easy to use and it has really good graphics. The one complaint I have is how do you track your actual mile time and your distance at the same time? I ran a 5K really fast and I’m really impressed with that and I was in a mile. Thanks so much for writing the app. This app is really help me mentally and physically, so I can listen to music while I work out 💪

### 5/5 — Weav Run Forever

*2022-08-06, version 4.6.2*

Been a Weav runner for years now (initially found this app back when I started running in ~2019). It was great then and it’s great now! Awesome for beginners because you can set it at your goal pace and the music helps keeps you on target. Great for experienced runners too, making workouts more enjoyable.

Used it to train & run my first half marathon earlier this year- kept me motivated and helped me achieve a PR!
If I had to delete all apps on my phone except one, this is the app I would keep.

### 5/5 — Absolutely Awesome, no joke!

*2022-06-21, version 4.6.2*

To set a cadence/pace and let the songs continuously play seamlessly is amazing, to observe how the beats follow the changes of your footstep cadence is even more unbelievably cool. You almost wanted to dance during your run/walk as if there’s a virtual DJ playing and synchronising your songs. Not only that it makes your journey less boring. If only heart rate data could be imported from Apple Watch that would make the already excellent app a step closer to perfection. Well done team! (Just that can it be a one-off fee rather than subscription based?)

**Developer response:** Thank you for all the kind words! 💃 🎶 🎧

### 5/5 — Perfect for marathon training

*2021-09-18, version 4.3.13*

I love everything about it! I’m training for my first marathon at WDW this January and love the mixes and the way I can choose the tempo of each song!
I just found the Latin mix today and that should cover lots of what I want, hoping for lots of Spanish reggeaton songs! I also love a lot of the tropical beat songs and think they can be added into the Latin mix. Thank you for this app, I use it all the time!

### 5/5 — Great!

*2021-04-28, version 4.3.8*

I’ve been running outdoors w this app for over a year and I think it’s great. I like the fact that the music speeds up and slows down w my pace, which helps me stick to a steady pace. I love knowing how fast I’m going (it tells you your split time every half mile). The music is good and a mix of current stuff and some older tunes. If you like, you can create playlists from the Weav library. I haven’t done that, and I just listen to the playlists that already exist in the app. I recently started using the Weav Workouts, and they’re challenging but also somehow inspiring (ladder workouts, etc). The workouts push me to try stuff like sprinting for 400 m, or for 60 seconds, that sort of thing. Rewarding to reach new personal bests! I run w Weav whenever I run now.

**Developer response:** Thanks 😃 So happy to hear you're having more fun with adaptive music! Rock 'n' Roll!

### 5/5 — Neat App

*2021-04-04, version 4.3.4*

This app is really great. I’m a beginning runner & started using this after doing a couch to 5k program. I like that I can set the bpm because it helps me with keeping a consistent pace throughout my run. Sadly the last update 4.3.4 broke the app on my phone (iPhone 6 iOS 12.5.2). The app opens & then immediately closes itself. I hope it can be fixed but I understand that my old phone may not be supported. I didn’t realize how attached I had gotten to the app & now I can’t find anything else I like to replace it.

### 5/5 — LOVE THIS!

*2021-03-30, version 4.3.3*

Omg I'm not a runner, I’ve tried for years and always give up after a few days. But the work outs within the app are fantastic and motivating and I’ve been running a week straight! Really truly can’t say enough good things about this app and the developers. Every time the app asks for feedback I get a personal email thanking me. Truly lovely people who created an amazing app. Forever and always support them!

### 5/5 — I like where this app takes me!

*2021-02-23, version 4.1.1*

I was a runner during my time in the army and I have always enjoyed running. I got the dad bod with the kids and running took a spot in the back burner. Now in late 30s I want to relive that passion that I had when running in the German woods. I always ran with a little MP3 player which had all my awesome music of the time. Now I have Apple Music and I have playlists but it never seems to synch up with my pace. Having this app has changed all that. I have been running this month doing 5 miles every other day and the music quickly changed with my pace. The workouts are awesome. Having someone there with you cheering you on is a big YES! For me. I’m loving it so far. And now that I have downloaded more of the music it’s really coming along.

**Developer response:** So glad to hear you are enjoying the app during your runs and workouts! 🤩 We promise to keep releasing more and more music! Stay safe out there!

### 5/5 — Best new app of 2020

*2020-12-16, version 4.1.1*

So happy with this. Such a great invention. Makes running more fun and less of a slog now that I’m trying to shed the pandemic pounds. Keeps me moving at the pace I want to set - instead of having to look at my pace on the phone I just listen to the beat! Good music variety. Still learning the interface and wish it were easier to learn how to make my own playlists but I’m sure it’s possible. I’ve told all my running friends about it!

### 5/5 — This is amazing

*2020-12-04, version 4.1.1*

Omg, I have heard so many people talk about how well they run. I have tried to be a runner for past 10 years, bought books and all sorts but never been able to improve. I even hired a trainer to help me improve my running, it’s the worst feeling when you go to do a 5K and men and women, double your age, pass you up. I was so embarrassed and while my husband and kids are all at the finish line waiting for me to eventually make it. Well, here I come is all I can say, because thanks to weave-run, I am on my third run and for the first time ever was able to run consistently on the warm up. I can’t thank you enough for the creator of this app and I can’t wait to see my progress in next few weeks. I absolutely love this and needed a change.
Thank you

**Developer response:** This is music to our ears! Thank you! 😊 🙏
