Thanks for the app. It would be very useful if there was an option to select receipts from files and not only camera and gallery. Some receipts are in the emails, some could be few pages, so not everything can be screenshot and uploaded that way. ### 2/5 — Painful process *2025-01-19, version 3.14.6* Zero AI, time consuming, manual. Basic functionality is missing, like being able to clearly see the expense receipt once upload (date / amount). The icon is too small. Sometimes receipts save and others they don’t. It recently decided to tell me my own bank account name was wrong, which it wasn’t. I’m guessing it’s Apple’s latest OS that’s broken it, but it’s still annoying as I use this daily. Edit: How much longer until this is fixed?! The web version is terrible on a Mac and doesn’t work, and I’m seriously out of pocket without the ability to submit my mileage and receipts. The app crashes when I type in the address. Reading the reviews I’m obviously not the only one. Pathetic. ### 4/5 — Excellent app *2024-01-29, version 3.13.7* Just need to simplify the addition of claims to the title ### 1/5 — A massive ballache. *2024-01-26, version 3.13.7* Never have I met a system that is so effusive, lacklustre and down right annoying. Every time - EVERY TIME - I use this cursed app to try to use this system I doggedly endeavour to try to make it work, every time it makes itself a larger headache to be able to use and causes more stress than practically needed. Avoid the app like the plague. The desktop version is not a great deal better. ### 2/5 — It’s usable *2023-12-06, version 3.13.4* The process of submitting claims is tedious from an employee side. The app crashes when using special symbols (ie. &) in the claims. It may be good if you’re dealing with lower volume of claims but if you’re submitting claims in bulk the individual process for each claim gets really tedious. ### 3/5 — Can’t upload photo *2023-11-27, version 3.13.1* Not sure what’s happened. After multiple stable releases the latest seems to crash the app every time a receipt is uploaded. I only turned to the app because the website is so terrible ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — A pile of trash *2026-05-09, version 4.1.1* Today 9/05/26 I received a 403 server error, then it logged in after 5 attempts. Now tried to upload a receipt, the system generated a completely random date. It’s frustrating that a product marketed as a business‑grade application continues to have so many flaws and recurring issues. What is wrong with this, it’s endless cycle of problems ### 1/5 — I hate this software *2026-05-06, version 4.1.0* I cannot overstate how much I hate hate hate this app. It is the single worst app on my phone. It is deliberately designed to make claiming expenses as difficult as possible, and in that it succeeds. It is buggy, crash prone and slow. It constantly resets claims and crashes if it cannot download data from the server. Sometimes it just rejects them out of sheer spite. You regularly have to completely restart filing claims. If you are a corporate finance department that hates your staff and wants to make their lives as difficult and miserable as possible, this is the software for you! Conversely, if you want expenses filed quickly and accurately, avoid this disaster like the plague. You’d do better with parchment, a quill pen and a carrier pigeon. Utterly, irredeemably, awful. ### 1/5 — Awful *2026-03-26, version 4.1.0* Objectively the poorest expense management app I’ve ever used. Dreadful UX, buggy, will only work when online. Avoid at all costs ### 1/5 — Complicated *2026-01-19, version 4.0.2* So many steps, it’s frustrating as you want to compile live as you receive receipts. CC company will send through invoice to balance and it never lines up. You should be able to log receipt, and when the reconciliation process is due, automatically attach original receipts ### 1/5 — Avoid *2025-12-07, version 4.0.0* Webexpenses continues to fail at even the simplest tasks. Even when you highlight it to non support team. Copy and paste, which everyone takes for granted defeats this software every time. If this is what passes for “progressive AI,” humanity has nothing to fear. The platform is designed, to turning expense management into a monthly source of stress rather than a solution. ### 1/5 — The worst expense app/program I have ever used *2025-11-01* If you are forced to use this app… God blessed you. It is absolutely horrible. Nothing matches, everything has to be done manually, you can’t see any information from the receipt without opening it up… the list goes on. I will never say a bad word about any other expense processing software my company forces me to use again bc no matter what it is, it most certainly has to be better that Web Expenses. ### 1/5 — Awful *2025-09-10, version 3.15.2* You will have technical problems and then a non existent customer service team will not get back to you! ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-06-02, version 3.15.0* Pretty useless - at first ok but then no just a blank screen. Re paired and then it worked only to not work again ! The idea is good but its functionality rubbish! ### 1/5 — Full of glitches *2025-05-15* The app is full of glitches. Reciepts uploaded to your gallery currently can’t be imported into a claim, so you have to upload every expense one by one. There’s a glitch with exchange rates where the app somehow unchecks the exchange rate box and imports its own wild figure. Completely useless. **Developer response:** Hello there, thank you for your review. I am sorry to read that you are having challenges using the app. If you have snapped pictures of your receipts using your phone camera, rather than the in app camera these can easily be imported from the gallery into your 'Receipts' area or attached to claim items. If you have created the claim item already and have that open then tap 'Add Receipts' at the top of the screen. This will give you 3 options to select the receipt from: Receipts, Camera or Gallery. Tap Gallery to navigate to your phones gallery and select the relevant receipt for that item. Alternatively, go to your Gallery and select the receipt image, you can then use the forward button at the bottom of the screen, and choose the Webexpenses app to forward the receipt (or multiple images) to your My Receipts area of Webexpenses.
