### 2/5 — emoji problem

*2026-08-29*

it keeps reading the emojis out loud. please make it stop.

**Developer response:** Hello, thanks for the feedback. Please note, the app has a substitutions feature which allows you to replace any word or phrase with silence. So you can use it to replace emojis with silence.

### 3/5 — Voices cannot be changed

*2026-06-17*

Voices on device cannot be selected because the steps to do so ask to download voices at Accessibility > Spoken Content > Voices, whereas ios 26 renamed the “Spoken Content” menu item to “Read & Speak”. I have downloaded some voices but they don’t appear on the app. Need better integration with latest os version.

### 2/5 — Advertisements….

*2026-06-10*

I love the concept of this app, it’s like a web browser with text to speech, way better than apples touch to sound accessibility option and safari’s reading mode which doesn’t even work 90% of the time. But oh my god so much adds and a subscription only. Atleast let us own it.

### 3/5 — Useful, but needs a lot of polish

*2025-11-20, version 3.30.5*

I'm amazed there aren't any good products in this category. I just want something that can read a webpage to me in a natural voice. This app does that but it badly needs a lot of polish.

### 4/5 — Aaron voice option removed

*2025-09-27*

This is seemed to be a common trend with certain text to speech apps since the update of the new iOS the Aaron has been removed from your suggestions. May I ask why was this removed? Or was it removed to that of the more premium in selective options? If so, can I ask? Why was it removed to go to the more premium option options instead when it’s always been like.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! The standard voices in the app come directly from iOS, and I don’t control which ones are available. Apple removed the Aaron voice in a recent update, so it wasn’t my decision. You can check if it’s still offered on your device by going to Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices → English.

In the future, if you need help with the app, please use the “report a problem” feature on the bottom bar or feel free to email me at contact@weboutloud.io

### 2/5 — Messed up something

*2025-09-03*

Well, yes, I do have a lot of the ratings on here it messed up my reader on my Safari app. I can no longer use it as it will just stop reading the moment it starts not even getting to say a single thing. I have tried uninstalling the app. The only it was a router wouldn’t even be able to be used. We saw the app thinking that would work, but it only made the problem worse as now the reader would pop up without me, pressing anything and try to read it without me making an input. It’s messed up my Safari reader please tell me how to fix it.

**Developer response:** Email me at contact@weboutloud.io and I’ll do my best to help you out. Please include as much information as possible including the email associated with your account, the voice you are using and which version of iOS you are using. Screenshots and short videos are always very helpful as well. Thanks.

### 3/5 — Cmon

*2025-02-16, version 3.26.10*

App update ruined the experience. It was working just fine. I would happily purchase the premium if the price was not so high. I’m disabled and this helps to keep me on top of school work.

The rocko voice that I used before worked perfectly. I hope that it gets patched up. Or if the price is like 10$ a month or something

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2025-02-07, version 3.26.8*

It tends to mess up and make me re download it

### 3/5 — It’s buggy

*2025-01-26, version 3.26.7*

There are words that it skips over completely like, “and”, “of”, “think”, “here”, “you”, and “a”.

Then there are times when it reads a second half of a sentence before reading the first half.

### 4/5 — Great APP….but PLEASE ADD BETTER VOICES

*2025-01-06, version 3.26.6*

This app is great! However, most of the voices available are robotic or annoying. Please add better voice options and to turn this into a 5-star review.

### 5/5 — 人生変わった

*2024-11-30*

素晴らしいアプリです、無料で使えるのがありがたいです、たまにバグってても全然使えます、文句ないですいつもお世話になってますありがとうございます

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. If you find a bug please send us a message through the in-app “Report a Problem” feature with instructions on how to reproduce it. Thank you!

### 5/5 — MUST HAVE!!

*2024-10-29, version 3.25.27*

As someone who's struggling with low vision and as novel hobbyist this has been a God send, and it's an indispensable part of my life. 100% recommend it and stand behind this product and developer, they're quick to always fix and help whenever the need arises.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unresponsive customer service

*2026-05-19, version 3.30.13*

You can do better

### 1/5 — DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

*2026-01-21, version 3.30.9*

I paid for a year long premium subscription. With that I am supposed to get 1 million spoken words of premium voices a month. Well, I just did a little test and it said my usage was at 279 words I had to read one sentence to me that was seven words long and it jumped up 240 words for the month. Out of my 1 million this is false advertisement that is once spoken words in the account for every one word spoken Either this needs to be fixed or I need a refund

### 1/5 — Broken app

*2025-12-18*

I have used this app for the last year and loved it, even pay for premium. But for the last two days I haven’t been able to sign in. I sign in with Apple. I have tried uninstalling the app, restarting my phone and reinstalling, cleared canes on my phone, updated to the most recent iOS and still it doesn’t work. I can’t contact support because you need to sign in first! Very frustrated at the minute,

### 1/5 — Trash slop

*2025-10-11, version 3.29.14*

Absolutely rediculous prices. Copying speechify. Smfh.

### 1/5 — I can’t uninstall

*2025-09-25, version 3.30.4*

I can’t uninstall the app, its stuck in downloading, this app is a virus or something

### 1/5 — It’s ok

*2025-09-19, version 3.30.3*

Can’t stand the voices

### 1/5 — Another app you can’t use unless you pay.

*2025-03-13*

Why not say this is just a trial and not waste everyone’s time filling out forms to then hit us with the to use the app you need to pay page. I don’t mind paying for an app. But this seemingly common practice of data mining to get to the point of finding out you need to pay to use it is nothing short of a dishonest trap.

**Developer response:** This is just factually inaccurate. There are no forms to fill out and there is a free version of that many have been using for years.

### 1/5 — It glitched out

*2025-03-13, version 3.26.12*

It was ok but Idk what area it was reading but it wasnt really starting with the beginning of the chapter? then I pressed the arrows on the side to see if that’d do anythinf and it just glitched out and repeated the same word over and over again.

### 1/5 — It tries to charge you premium for voices it doesn't even own

*2024-07-19, version 3.25.10*

It charges premium for voices it stole from Amazon, google, Microsoft, and open AI. How y'all gonna charge for something that isn't even yours. 🤦🏽‍♀️

### 1/5 — No information given on how to use the program

*2023-10-04*

It would really be nice if when first installed, a couple of pop ups point to each button on the toolbar and explain what it is, and how to use it

now i just have this random tool bar with different buttons and i dont know what does what. Also, where do the downloads even save? it just tells you absolutely nothing...

**Developer response:** If you hover your mouse over the buttons, you will see a tool tip. We also have some information at https://WebOutLoud.io/help.

Also, please be sure to watch the quick start guide. It is a very short video that will get you started.

I try to make the app as self explanatory as possible. If you have more questions, we can be reached through the in-app messaging system. Just press the triangle alert symbol in the tool bar.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — This helps me!

*2026-07-11, version 3.30.15*

I can read my financial information back to myself without thinking, premium stuff is worth the extra!

### 5/5 — Works very well, I just have one question

*2026-03-25*

Loving this app, my go to app for downloading/reading web novels currently but I am curious if there’s any way to reset save data on pages I’ve already read. For example, I’m currently re-reading a novel I’ve previously read on this app and whenever I go to a chapter I’ve already read, it loads at the bottom so I have to scroll all the way back to the top which get’s rather annoying considering this novel has hundreds of chapters/pages to read. I’ve already tried clearing cache & history but that didn’t seem to do the trick. Any help would be much appreciated!!

### 5/5 — Web out loud is so helpful

*2025-12-10, version 3.30.7*

I use this app for sometime now and it’s very helpful especially keeping up with the million announcements and emails from school having 3 kids. Saves my eyes and saves time!

### 5/5 — Meets a need

*2025-10-15, version 3.30.5*

It is great for listening to Bible related things online to feed the soul with the knowledge of God that all falsehood could be rooted out of my beliefs and instead the Spirit of God can have free reign

### 5/5 — Awesome App

*2025-06-30, version 3.28.6*

App is great

### 5/5 — Helped me so much

*2025-06-26*

I have used this app for years. It helped me understand all the aspects of a court case in preparation to defending myself. I am grateful. If it could learn what is part of the narrative and ignore things such as file names it would be amazing.

### 5/5 — Listen to EVERYTHING!

*2025-05-29, version 3.28.2*

This app is hands down the best thing I’ve ever had the pleasure to use. I’ve been a paying customer for more than 3 years now, and my usage of the app has only been increasing day after day. Now I seriously can’t see myself starting my mornings without it.

The app basically turns everything into an audiobook: PDFs, news articles, web novels; heck, even your own text. And you can use AI voices or the stock iOS voice. I can’t recommend it enough, especially with the support and attention the developer has put into this. I’ve been emailing regarding bugs or feature requests at least once a month. God knows the developer has been patient with me and helped every step of the way.

### 5/5 — Very adaptable

*2025-02-08*

perfect for listening to longer blog posts and even books. I like the amount of options to customize a lot, even without premium

### 5/5 — works very well

*2025-01-28, version 3.26.8*

very few hiccups; very well made app

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-12-27, version 3.26.5*

This is a great app for listening to articles while traveling or commuting!
