Please note, the app has a substitutions feature which allows you to replace any word or phrase with silence. So you can use it to replace emojis with silence. ### 3/5 — Voices cannot be changed *2026-06-17* Voices on device cannot be selected because the steps to do so ask to download voices at Accessibility > Spoken Content > Voices, whereas ios 26 renamed the “Spoken Content” menu item to “Read & Speak”. I have downloaded some voices but they don’t appear on the app. Need better integration with latest os version. ### 2/5 — Advertisements…. *2026-06-10* I love the concept of this app, it’s like a web browser with text to speech, way better than apples touch to sound accessibility option and safari’s reading mode which doesn’t even work 90% of the time. But oh my god so much adds and a subscription only. I just want something that can read a webpage to me in a natural voice. This app does that but it badly needs a lot of polish. ### 4/5 — Aaron voice option removed *2025-09-27* This is seemed to be a common trend with certain text to speech apps since the update of the new iOS the Aaron has been removed from your suggestions. May I ask why was this removed? Or was it removed to that of the more premium in selective options? If so, can I ask? Why was it removed to go to the more premium option options instead when it’s always been like. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! The standard voices in the app come directly from iOS, and I don’t control which ones are available. Apple removed the Aaron voice in a recent update, so it wasn’t my decision. You can check if it’s still offered on your device by going to Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices → English. In the future, if you need help with the app, please use the “report a problem” feature on the bottom bar or feel free to email me at contact@weboutloud.io ### 2/5 — Messed up something *2025-09-03* Well, yes, I do have a lot of the ratings on here it messed up my reader on my Safari app. I can no longer use it as it will just stop reading the moment it starts not even getting to say a single thing. I have tried uninstalling the app. The only it was a router wouldn’t even be able to be used. We saw the app thinking that would work, but it only made the problem worse as now the reader would pop up without me, pressing anything and try to read it without me making an input. I would happily purchase the premium if the price was not so high. I’m disabled and this helps to keep me on top of school work. The rocko voice that I used before worked perfectly. I hope that it gets patched up. With that I am supposed to get 1 million spoken words of premium voices a month. Well, I just did a little test and it said my usage was at 279 words I had to read one sentence to me that was seven words long and it jumped up 240 words for the month. Out of my 1 million this is false advertisement that is once spoken words in the account for every one word spoken Either this needs to be fixed or I need a refund ### 1/5 — Broken app *2025-12-18* I have used this app for the last year and loved it, even pay for premium. But for the last two days I haven’t been able to sign in. I sign in with Apple. For example, I’m currently re-reading a novel I’ve previously read on this app and whenever I go to a chapter I’ve already read, it loads at the bottom so I have to scroll all the way back to the top which get’s rather annoying considering this novel has hundreds of chapters/pages to read. I’ve already tried clearing cache & history but that didn’t seem to do the trick. I’ve been a paying customer for more than 3 years now, and my usage of the app has only been increasing day after day. Now I seriously can’t see myself starting my mornings without it. The app basically turns everything into an audiobook: PDFs, news articles, web novels; heck, even your own text. And you can use AI voices or the stock iOS voice. I can’t recommend it enough, especially with the support and attention the developer has put into this. I’ve been emailing regarding bugs or feature requests at least once a month.
