### 5/5 — Very functional and provides good value

*2019-12-18*

I’ve used Webscorer to time XC ski, biathlon, and running races for 10 years and it has been very good for us. It does everything we need it to do, and the developers have been very responsive in meeting needs that have come up. It provides good value for our Nordic club and also our entrants, with a reasonable fee per paying racer.

### 5/5 — Very flexible and convenient

*2019-12-17*

I time a few races a year and i know a few other race organizers who have used this app. The features cover just about every situation.

It is pretty easy train a volunteer to do the timing. The training videos on the web site explain the basics. I recommend doing a practice session with a pretend race

### 5/5 — Faster than a finger tap!

*2019-12-13, version 4.2.0*

A great tool for timing Nordic ski races. Easy to register racers. Private notes are helpful. Easy to post results. Great support from the team on last minute questions. Needs a feature to keep your finger tip warm while standing in sub-zero weather!

### 5/5 — Absolutely no faults

*2018-05-18, version 2.9.1*

Two things to say about Webscorer
1. It is the most versatile and easy to use product around. I would defy anyone to find a race they couldn’t time with this app. Simple and stress free (no race timing is stress free!) and loved by racers and organisers alike
2. Webscorer offer world class, gold plated support. Response is rapid, reliable and friendly - none of the nonsense you often get from people too up themselves to help properly.

Excellent all round!

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2017-11-08*

I have been using the app for the last couple of months for our enduro series. We’re using multiple devices and combining the data via Bluetooth to get instant results by overall and by category. Easy, although it’s a good idea to practice before the event. Our riders love it. We’re also using a results series, to combine the times from each of our events.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2017-11-06*

We use this app to time a few 5K races during the year and are very happy!

### 5/5 — Full featured

*2017-09-21*

My biking club regularly does some pretty complex split timed races. This is one of the only apps I found that can handle it. Their website with live results is a nice bonus too.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-11-01, version 2.4.0*

Fantastic app, using it for a weekly run group. User friendl.

### 5/5 — Trail Race Timing Success: Nearly 200 runners, 4 distances, 3 start waves

*2016-04-21*

We have been using webscorer since early 2014 to time our races with an ipad. We are up to 10 races now and have had up to 320 runners playing on race day. A couple weeks ago we had our most recent trail race that had nearly 200 runners across 4 distances (8M - 52M, some with multi-loops), 3 start waves, and live results going throughout the day. Our one oopsie was for our last wave start - we accidently started it a little late in webscorer. Once noticed I was able to easily adjust the start time of this wave, thanks to some of the robustness features of webscorer. Another solid 15 hour day with webscorer.

### 5/5 — Webscorer Race Timer

*2015-07-24, version 2.0.0*

This is a fantastic product. We used it to time our National Championships XC Mountain bike race last week and everything went smoothly. The results were also ratified by UCI (International Cycling Union). We were able to time laps for different race categories and distances, which has previously been very difficult to keep track of manually.

### 5/5 — Best Non Chip Timing Tool Available & It Rocks!!!

*2014-12-21, version 1.7.2*

Webscorer is by far the best non chip timing software available on the market. It will not only save you thousands of dollars every year, but also provides a comprehensive and easy to use set of tools to time almost every kind of race, or combination of races one can put on. The Webscorer team is responsive, takes pride in their work, and always eager to assist and improve the set of tools offered to give users the best experience possible.

### 5/5 — Simply Brilliant

*2014-12-14*

I have been using Webscorer for timing mountain bike racing over several seasons, it saves us the expense and complexity of a chip system while giving us everything we need in a timing system. It does everything it promises and has proven to be reliable and fairly easy to use, I recommended that new users spend some time learning how it works and discovering how to deal with some of the challenges of hand timing a race. excellent and responsive support with constant refinement and updates.

### 5/5 — Brilliant timing app

*2014-12-11, version 1.7.2*

Webscorer is an absolutely brilliant app for timing athletic events. Every detail has been carefully considered to optimise the ease of use and efficiency. It can be customised in countless ways to suit your event. It really is a delight to use. Furthermore, the customer support is unbelievable! Often you get a response to your question within minutes. This makes such a difference in the overall experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

### 5/5 — Awesome Race Scoring App - Quick to learn, easy to use

*2014-12-11, version 1.7.2*

We have been using Webscorer to time races for the past two years and it’s been a great experience. And whenever we hit a snag, the support team is quick to the rescue, even on the weekends. Being able to score multiple distances with different start times is a big bonus for us on this app over others. We use the app to score trail runs and open water swims. And there are so many customization options in terms of how to score & display results.

### 5/5 — Successful adaptation for cycling events

*2014-12-10*

I started using Webscorer for mountain bike races, then quickly adapted to using it for time trials. The TT functionality is fantastic, especially for TTs where start, finish and registration are physically separated. Getting instantaneous results from finish to results posting area can't be beat. Most recently I'm using the app for cyclocross. It's great for events with a hard uphill stretch close to the finish where racers are going slowly. The ability to run separate categories simultaneously and have the results parsed out automatically works really well. There is a learning curve, but well worth it and the tech support is very good.

### 5/5 — Timing for the masses

*2014-12-10, version 1.7.2*

Great app. We've been using it for years to time several mountain bike races a year as well as a youth triathlon. We started using the registration side of it last year and it's made our lives much easier. Webscorer has been very responsive customizing the app and registration system to suit our needs. Overall we're very happy.

### 5/5 — Great support/couple of glitches

*2014-10-10, version 1.6.3*

We haven't run our race yet, and I will update my review after we run it, but I did want to comment on the great support I have been provided so far. I have been practicing with the app and every time I had a question as I progressed in my knowledge of how to use the app or wanted to expand how I was going to implement the program, Webscorer tech support was very responsive and helpful. They cleared up any confusion that I had on my part with patience and professionalism. This app is going to be great come race day. I will update this review after the race and how it works in actual practice.

10/10/2014 We ran our race on August 23rd and had 245 racers in male, female 10 year age group categories. The app worked fine but please be aware of a couple of procedural concerns and logistical setup. Based on the advice of one of the videos on Webscorer as the finish line got busy with multiple racers crossing in short intervals I used the "no bib" button to record the times and hold the positions open to come back and fill in the bib numbers at the end of the race. Approximately 2/3rds of our field of runners were recorded this way because the finsh line was too busy to record all the bibs on the app. Now here is the important part. DO NOT FINISH THE RACE UNTIL YOU HAVE FILLED ALL THE BIB NUMBERS IN TO THE OPEN POSITIONS. The app will DNF all positions without a bib number if you finish the race!!! This was our fault I will admit. Had I not gotten in a hurry to "finish" the race we would have been fine and simply would have back filled the positions on the app without bib numbers that were being manually written down by a second person. The app does have a fail safe and that is the "taps recorded" feature that shows all the taps with times and finishing positions. We used that to manually reconstruct the race and it worked but did slow us down on getting the times and positions published. I think if Webscorer would create another "tap" button in addition to "no bib" that was called something like "placeholder" so the app would understand not to DNF the racer and you could see the where you meant to record a no bib versus actually holding open a postition would be handy. That being said had I not finished the race it would have worked. My advice to anyone trying to time a race for the first time is to have one person run the app as the timer, record as many bibs as possible, but also have someone writing them manually. In additon I would have two other people help at the finish line to collate runners in the chute and count runners who show up in groups. We also ran a video camera as a back up to use if all else failed. I still give the app five stars and now that I've actually run a race I understand the whole process a lot better. This really could take the place of chip timing and save your event $1200-$1500. Practice with the app a lot and have a backup at least your first year and it will work. Remember leave the app running until you have edited anything you need to edit then finish the race!

### 5/5 — Review webscorer

*2014-05-25, version 1.6.3*

We have been using Webscorer for our local triathlon race for the last 3 years. With a little training this is a great timing system for a race of any size. It is a far easier and less expensive than a traditional chip system and combined with the on line registration option automatically creates your start list. Results from our race this year were available for awards less than 10 minutes after the las racer and were immediately available on line.

### 5/5 — Brilliant race timing app.

*2014-05-19, version 1.6.3*

Tried the app on the weekend for the first time on a real race. It worked flawlessly. We even used a second iPad to time runners through a checkpoint.
The live streaming also worked without a hitch.
The app has an extensive help section which covers just about everything. I had one minor query during the event so I emailed the devs, and got a response almost immediately!!!

I have no hesitation in giving this app the highest recommendation. It's outstanding and will save us much time and headaches.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not thrilled

*2023-09-08*

Seemed like it would be user friendly for first timers (and I was told by a local timing company that it was super easy) but it isn’t. Super aggravated and have watched a ton of tutorials and they aren’t very detailed or helpful. Regretting this decision.

**Developer response:** If you get stuck, you can contact us at support@webscorer.com - we typically respond within the hour (unless we're sleeping).

### 2/5 — Won't download any races

*2012-02-26, version 1.2.2*

Site works on my Blackberry but won't download anything on the iPad app.

### 3/5 — Promising UI

*2014-03-25, version 1.6.3*

UPDATED AGAIN (Mar 2014):
The company wrote to me because this review seems to be generating some angst amongst potential customers. I’m not going to erase the history. But you will note that potential issues I experienced with the app were many major versions back.

UPDATED (for version 1.3.3 - Dec 2012):
One of our race organizers reported this issue to Webscorer, and they've been fervently trying to track it down. There's no crash file, which would be seem to indicate a low memory condition (i.e. their app crashed because my iPad had too much running, as opposed to a bug in their code). On the other hand, I vaguely remember shutting down most of my other apps before the race. At this point, there's no way to prove either theory - but I'll give them kudos for diligently trying to track down the issue. As noted in the original review, the UI was promising. I think we'll try again in our spring race, but run the app in parallel with manual methods until we gain some confidence.

INITIAL REVIEW:
Seemed promising. Ran a few simulated test races and loved how easy it was to use the iPad app. So that gave us the confidence to use it for a charity 5K trail run we organized for this past weekend. Everything was fine through registration. Setting things up to start two waves of runners (for two different distances) was a snap. Once the race was underway, everything was going smoothly as the first dozen or so runners from the early wave started crossing the finish line. Then … who knows what happened … I was in "fast tap view" and suddenly the app stopped taking times. I could still tap on a runner bib number, but every time I tapped a time, the app crashed out (i.e. quit and took me back to iPad home screen). I'd restart, the timer was still running, but same thing, could not record times. Tried to switch back to normal view - it was grayed out. Tried restarting a bunch to no avail. Eventually we had to give up on times, and just manually record (paper and pencil) the top finishers in order.

You only get one chance to run the race - THE APP HAS TO WORK RELIABLY EVERY TIME!!! Who knows, maybe I keyed in a sequence wrong in the heat of three runners crossing at once? Even if that's what happened - the software has to recover from that!!! If there was some different entry sequence I needed to do to recover - THEN TELL ME. Once it crashed the first two or three times, I punted on trying to record times for a while (since it was the "fun-runners" - hoping to recover for the more serious 5kers) and looked around the app at everything I could find - but same issue, no matter what I tried, when I tried to record a time, the app crashed out.

### 4/5 — Webscorer review

*2013-05-22*

I want to thank Webscorer for developing this timing app! It has been a great asset to our small running race series company. The best part is that it has saved us hundreds of dollars from hiring a professional timing company, those savings have allowed us to put more into developing our races and brand, as well as donate more to local charities! Overall, I find the app easy to use and navigate. My only suggestion would be for Webscorer to add easier touch "buttons" throughout the entire app for easier navigation, similar to the buttons they have for the actual timing part of the app. Thanks again for a great app!

### 4/5 — Enviro-Sports

*2013-04-11, version 1.5.1*

We have been using Webscorer to time our last few races and it's been a fairly smooth process. And whenever we hit bumps in the road, the support team is very quick with answers, even on the weekends. Being able to score multiple distances with different start times is a big bonus for us on this app over others. There are still changes we'd like to see but hopefully they'll come soon with each new update.

### 4/5 — Good stuff!

*2013-03-20, version 1.4.1*

We put on numerous bicycle events each year and Webscorer will definitely be one of our regular tools. Very intuitive to use with lots of flexibility. We will be looking forward to all additional capabilities as they roll in.

### 5/5 — Streamlined and accurate

*2025-02-15*

I love using Webscorer to time cross country ski races, and have been doing so since 2018.

The technical support is amazing and the software is streamlined and easy to use, even for a novice like me.

Recently, we transitioned to using active chip timing with Feibot—and once again, everything has been smooth and seamless.

If you want to do event timing in an easy manner and provide accurate professional results, then give Webscorer a try! Vesa and his team really do work tirelessly to make sure that you can navigate through the system, and more importantly…comprehend the reasoning behind everything. This is such an easy and user friendly timing system.

Take a look at the helpful resources tab, to get started.

Thank you, Webscorer!

### 5/5 — Great for Backyard Ultras

*2025-01-30, version 7.3.0*

Such a good cost effective system. Love it.

### 5/5 — Love app

*2024-04-03*

Absolutely 100% pleased with Webscorer and the app

### 5/5 — Great for races with multiple distance

*2023-11-20*

We organize several trail running races each year, and offer multiple distances on each event - 5K, 10Mile, Half Marathon and Marathon. Number of racers can vary from 100 to 500. We've tried all types of timing systems over the last several years, and none could offer us the flexibility like this app. Love the new GPS tracking option!

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Webscorer is very user friendly

*2023-01-11*

Our ski club has been using Webscorer exclusively since 2017. This is a fantastic timing platform and I would recommend it to anybody who times races and wants a well thought out and user friendly timing system.

The Webscorer support is always available and I can absolutely say that the team at Webscorer want its users to succeed.

Our next goal is to transition to automated timing/ chip timing with Webscorer! Exciting stuff!

### 5/5 — Highly recommend

*2022-05-30*

I’m a race director with 10 races all around 200 participants. Webscorer is perfect solution to our timing needs and it continues to get better. Participants love how we can keep our race fees reasonable while also providing a great experience.

### 5/5 — Fun runner

*2021-09-17, version 4.8.0*

This app is great. I use it for a multiple distance multiple wave start event. They offer help very quickly if you mess something up and can’t figure out how to fix it. Makes race timing enjoyable and the results are fast and easy to read. Love it!

### 5/5 — Awesome timing app for our weekly trail runs

*2020-11-27*

We use Webscorer for our weekly trail runs which consist of 4 distances. Works seamlessly and allows us to reuse the same bib numbers for return runners. Have used it for triathlon, MTB and trail races. Also used for it for the Salt Pans Ultra, 3 day race in Botswana where we didn’t have signal. Good support too.

### 5/5 — Great for races with multiple distance

*2020-10-13, version 4.4.1*

We organize several trail running races each year, and offer multiple distances on each event - 5K, 10Mile, Half Marathon and Marathon. Number of racers can vary from 100 to 500. We've tried all types of timing systems over the last several years, and none could offer us the flexibility like this app. Love the new QR code timing option!

### 5/5 — Saved Cross Country Season

*2020-10-08*

Found this app when searching for a way to post race results to the web. Our state athletic association said that physically posting results was not allowed due to COVID. Professional race timing was not affordable. The instructional videos on how to use the app were very beneficial. At $50 a year this app saved our school’s cross country season. We have hosted 6 meets so far and have 2 more to go. Thanks.
