I can use WebSDR from the website just fine from my iPad Safari. And it doesn’t cost me $5.99. But WebSDR doesn’t work inside this app. Which just looks like a refilled website view. I am replying to this comment to clarify and warn future customers. This app is an audio unit plugin. If you don’t know what that means then please do not buy this app. You will definitely be disappointed. Unless you run it as a plugin inside of an audio unit host like GarageBand, AUM, Cubasis, BeatMaker, etc. it will not do anything useful. The purpose of using it as a plugin is to extract audio from radio streams for use as an effect in music performances, recordings, and compositions. When you run this as a standalone app, all it does is display the WebSDR website. You can access that website for free on your iPhone using Safari. So if all you want is to listen to the radio, please don’t buy this app. Just use safari instead. We explained this in the app description but I understand that the app description is long and you may not have time to scroll down and read it all. Or perhaps you did read it but you didn’t know what we meant by “audio unit host”. That’s perfectly understandable and we apologize for the misunderstanding. If you bought the app based on a misunderstanding, you should contact Apple to apply for a refund. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Don’t work any more only black screen *2022-06-13, version 1.0.1* How do. Unfortunately Apple made changes that directly affected this app’s ability to connect to most WebSDR servers, fortunately you can still connect to several Russian servers which allows you to pick up Russian transmissions, see atmospheric disturbances and tune into data transmissions. If you want to surf more shortwave and scanner frequencies but do not need to route through a DAW, Echo:Global SDR Receiver will serve you better. ### 5/5 — Works again now *2026-06-09, version 1.0.3* Back to sampling shortwave I go ### 5/5 — What I was looking for *2023-06-28, version 1.0.1* The best app for WebSDR. Perfect for experimental music: just use it in AUM with some delays, reverbs and loopers — and it will work fine every time. Important: don't close the plugin to not stop the sound. I use this web site in a computer, but via web browser it’s to much intensive and my computer goes hot. With Ipad no problem and with AUM app you have a complete multi stations mixing board. Unfortunately, when I try to use the WebSDR app with my AirPods Pro, I get a continuous stuttering/glitching effect that only shows up with this specific app. If I could use the app with my earbuds, that would be a huge plus! Update: This works great as an AUv3 in AUM! I’ve started learning iOS music production, and I’ve got the plugin routing FT8 data signals into SpaceFields to come out sounding like the soundtrack of a cosmic horror movie or something—which is freaking awesome! As a bonus, my headset works right when I use the app in AUM. Still wish it would also work in “regular app” mode, but even without that, this app is one of the coolest I’ve seen in awhile! ### 3/5 — It works EXCEPT….. *2022-11-18, version 1.0.1* Sadly when using inside of AUM, the audio cuts out when you close the window. I wrote the developer but never got back a response. I’m a pretty experienced and seasoned ios music creator used to creating complex setups in AUM, Drambo, so it’s kind of a drag to have to squeeze down the window to a tiny little square and tuck it out of the way. ### 3/5 — UI improvements, but no audio *2022-09-12, version 1.0.1* UI has been improved and app itself has nice interface.
