### 4/5 — Nice to have.

*2024-01-01*

Nice to have at your fingertips. I would rather like it if it linked all it older previous definitions throughout the history of Webster. I would also go into the history of Webster and help the reader understand how this came to be. This would then be a 5 star application.

### 3/5 — Not good for the latest social media terms

*2020-01-24, version 10.0.12*

Annoying because keeps asking for a rating. For this reason, I deliberately lower the number of stars to punish Webster

### 5/5 — A good dictionary

*2019-01-09, version 10.0.12*

### 5/5 — Webster is the best!

*2018-11-07*

Webster's definitions have much more depth than other dictionaries. I use it often, not just for learning definitions, but for obtaining a deeper understanding of the meaning of words. I even use it as a meditative technique, choosing a word such as 'calm' to internalise the full meaning of the word: 'peaceful, stoic, tranquil, serene.' It's very powerful.

### 2/5 — A bit clunky

*2018-11-01*

Still not updated for screen sizes of phones that have been out for more than a year now. The interface is a bit clunky, too.

Decreasing the rating, as the app regularly nags for a review, interrupting the train of thought. I did not pay for a dictionary to have it interrupt me rudely.

### 5/5 — Mobile Dictionary & Thesaurus

*2018-09-26*

Love it!! No extra books to carry to class..

### 2/5 — Comprehensive but simple to use

*2018-09-03, version 10.0.12*

A very good app. Great as a standard dictionary but, it's also a fine thesaurus.

Has a neat feature that enables you to tag your favourite words.

Update 3 months into using the app... it loses all your favourite words. I must have had 50 - all disappeared. Rating consequently downgraded from 5 to 2

### 5/5 — Great dictionary!

*2018-08-13*

I use it all the time, and it helps me learn more about this language. Recent updates really improved the interface.

### 5/5 — WNW Dictionary

*2018-08-08*

I thoroughly enjoy having this dictionary on my phone and I use it often. A terrific tool

### 5/5 — Great Book

*2018-07-23*

I love this book. I am so grateful for having this at my fingertips. It allows me to look deeper into the meaning of what’s being said. There so many times people say and use words that are not very clear.I use this tool for clarity. I give this five stars because there’s not 10 to give!

### 5/5 — This is a wonderfully convenient & sufficiently adequate "definition" resource❗️

*2018-07-18, version 10.0.12*

Again...I repeat (w/ additions)...this is a resource that is extremely convenient & sufficiently adequate, even 4 those of us who have "higher" educational certificates, diplomas, or degrees.
It's main "selling point" (@ least 4 those of us who r of "average intelligence"--whatever that means) is that it's not overly "high-brow" or hard 2 understand. It is concise, & gets 2 the heart of every definition w/out the use of any excessive, flowery, or otherwise immoderate verbiage.

### 5/5 — Marvelous

*2018-06-12, version 10.0.3*

I love this app. It is simply marvelous!

### 1/5 — Older version has a better user interface

### 1/5 — Poor product

*2020-03-17, version 10.0.12*

This dictionary is too simplistic. No audio, poor examples, etc. I was already charged for the trial period! I have requested a refund.

### 1/5 — Word of the day

*2018-04-21*

I thought I would enjoy this but the words are too simple. Words repeat often and ‘cheetah’ comes up at least once a week.

### 1/5 — Endless nagging

*2017-11-28, version 10.0.3*

Really annoying and repeated reminders to review their product - however the product itself is good

### 1/5 — Websters should be embarrassed

*2016-03-31, version 7.4.1*

I'm completely embarrassed that I bought this app before reading the reviews. My free Dictionary.com app is FAR superior than this unusable app. And the ridiculous price they're asking!! Webster(if he was a real person) would be rolling over in his grave! I'd give this 0 stars if it would let me!

### 1/5 — Don't buy this dictionary. It is a rip off

*2015-06-05, version 7.4.1*

Today is 6/5/15. I have written this company 7 times after they refused to give me back their pre-May, 2015 version, after I had updated to their current May 2015 version, and they still refuse to deal with my clearly stated issues. I feel cheated by this company to have paid $24.99 for what "was" before, this fabulous previous dictionary. This Company should be prosecuted for bait and switch, and be sued for literary fraud. This current version is a 1984 nightmare in progress of perverting the English language. This most recent updated version changes the meaning of so many words. They have changed all the original meanings that they had under their previous uncorrupted version dictionary. It seems clear from the new meanings of words and their new version, that they are merging all of their cheap and inexpensive garbage dictionaries, into this most expensive previously accurate dictionary (prior to May, 2015), which had contained the true meanings of words since their inception. It appears clear that their intention forward, is to corrupt the English language. This is a conspiracy fact! I speak for all the owners of the previous (prior to May 2015) version to update all of us, which update should give us the dictionary back that we had bargained for and that can truly help us to learn the English language as it was originally intended from its inception.

### 1/5 — Word Addict

*2015-05-23, version 7.4.1*

I agree with (except I paid $25 for the App), with Disgruntled Gnostic's, accurate description of this
newly revised May 2015, corrupted updated version, as I was also tricked into updating this newly corrupted version. I had previously searched the App Store for all the available dictionaries and chose this one because it
appeared far superior to the
other dictionaries. I was very happy with my new App, until the new May 2015 update. In the old version I was able to rearrange my saved favorite words, which made it very easy to go back and review those words in an orderly way. That option has now been removed. Previously, there were front and back (left & right) arrows, which made it real easy to navigate back and forth, with the words that I had consecutively searched.
That very helpful teaching-tool option (back & forth arrows) has also been removed. The prior version also broke down the definition of words into syllables, in many cases, contain 2 or more bridged-words, which I could "touch",and it would take me to that word. The prior
version of this App, also described the word's original (archaic) meaning, its use in present and prior vernacular, and from which language (e.g. Greek,Latin,
Old English,German,etc),
that word had originated, and the actual word in that foreign language. That also taught me the relationship of the English and to that foreign word, so I learned 2 languages at the same time.
I encourage others to write more reviews about this App on this "Reviews" page to encourage the App Co., to bring back the "prior version" (prior to May 2015) and to properly inform the purchasers of this App that it is an "updated & restored version" with an explanation so that we are not again tricked into getting a more
"corrupted version" in the future. It is a shame that now we are beginning to trust the internet, they are removing access to the meaning of everything, by getting us to trust previous truthful dictionaries such as this one ( before the May 2015 update), and now
"forcing" us to accept the meaning of words which
"they" want us to accept as truth, by omission of a word's original meaning and origin.

### 2/5 — Glitch

*2023-05-27, version 10.0.12*

The newest iteration cannot be opened, please fix it.

### 2/5 — Please redesign Homepage

*2018-11-11, version 10.0.12*

For such a renown publication it’s disappointing . Main screen ALWAYS! asking you to invite friends also to rate the app. Plus, space taken up by “Word of the day”, randomly generated & more miss than hit. Today it was “Barbara”, apparently a girls name 🙄. This is also saved for your convenience. 🤪

At 85 years old, your app is Very Handy in daily work, thought, ideation and general computer work — of all sorts. Five Stars! Not a day goes by that I’m not using my computer tools; at my desk, in my garage/shop/museum, on the run, or at my bedside, etc. Thanks to our father-God for all the possibilities available in His perfect CREATION WORK. And BLESS YOU for your questing for what is possible, desirable and ATTAINABLE in His CREATION WORK, for we who are created in His Image. Keep up your good guesting, thought and invention.
