### 3/5 — Excellent but family sharing fails

*2024-07-30, version 3.0*

Love it but family sharing promised and does not work

### 5/5 — Excellent app…excellent dictionary

*2023-09-01, version 3.0*

Very grateful for all the hard work that went into this invaluable resource…thank you!

### 4/5 — Great complement to the KJV Bible

*2023-04-29*

One star deducted because I’d like to have the option to report any typos found (ex: under the definition of “mammon” it says “god or riches” instead of “god of riches”).

### 4/5 — Very Good but

*2023-01-16, version 3.0*

Hi this is very good kindly include font enlargement for it to be perfect . Thank you

### 5/5 — I give 5 Stars to pure Deception!

*2022-12-25, version 3.0*

This godless cabal company has changed its definition’s.

### 2/5 — A Lot of Words Missing

*2022-04-19, version 3.0*

I read a lot of archaic writings, and I have been disappointed that this dictionary has so many words omitted.

### 5/5 — Excellent Resource, however...

*2021-05-20, version 3.0*

This is a remarkable resource. The interface is clean and easy to use.

However, as someone who is vision impaired, it would be very helpful if I could enlarge the font sizes within the app or zoom in on the screen.

With that being said, I still highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Who Penned this dictionary?

*2020-09-21, version 3.0*

Not Daniel Webster. It was written buy Noah. Two totally different individuals. I am So glad to finally have the dictionary that gives meanings the correct biblical foundations.

### 3/5 — Suggestion:

*2020-07-18, version 3.0*

Please offer a word a day of the 1828 dictionary. Maybe an app notification. It would be nice

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2020-05-14, version 2.02*

Absolutely adore this dictionary. It gives you the definitions of the words as our founding fathers meant them before lawyers came in and mucked it all up.

### 5/5 — Learie

*2019-06-06, version 2.02*

This is the real deal! Great App

### 5/5 — Typo to correct

*2018-12-12, version 2.02*

Excellent APP! Always use it! Logic, Current Events, Conversations!

I couldn’t find “contact us” so I am writing this review for a typo I came upon:

Dwindled; second sentence spelled “swindle”.

Thanks
Julie

### 5/5 — A great dictionary

*2018-09-12, version 2.02*

I use this dictionary quite often

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — What happened?

*2025-09-28, version 4.0.0*

This app has changed completely. The majority of definitions used to have clear references to scripture, and examples of the words being used in the Bible. I just checked several words, and those references are almost entirely gone. Most telling are the words “sheep” and “shepherd”. Sheep especially used to have a long, and deeply meaningful definition in light of the word’s significance in Christianity. I opened the App Store to see if there was an explanation for the change. There isn’t one. What I noticed though is that an app that has reviews from as long ago as 11 years, somehow now has less than 50 reviews. I also noticed the developers labeling a review that pointed out the changes in the app as a fake review from another dictionary developer. There is a good possibility this review will also be labeled as fake. There is one way to tell if these critical reviews are fake - check the updated dictionary for yourself. If you are lucky, after a bland definition resembling definitions found in almost every dictionary, there may be a reference to a single verse.

### 1/5 — Help!

*2025-07-13, version 4.0.0*

What I type into the annotations portion doesn’t show up! And I tap on “app support” and it says “website coming soon.” The feature I bought this for is invisible and I can’t resolve it by simple reinstalling. I want my money back please if this can’t be fixed.

### 1/5 — Beware

*2025-05-20, version 4.0.0*

The app updated and has now taken out the scripture references....from where the definitions originated. Better get yourself a hard copy of this and a King James Bible too because this is the way it's going.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-01-22, version 3.0*

I paid for app but it doesn’t work. I have an I phone 16. I choose the word but the definition page is blank. No matter which word I choose. I’ve closed out and go back in and still nothing.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2023-02-19, version 3.0*

Read the two negative reviews. Developer made excuses for faults in the dictionary

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2021-05-08, version 3.0*

I have a copy of the 1828 Dictionary and this isn’t even close!
First, what is up with putting a German eagle on the cover?
Secondly, where are all the amazing sentence illustrations?
Where are the depth of definitions?
And where is the entomology of the words?
This is like some middle school dictionary!
Maybe I purchased the wrong one but I’d sure like my money back. This was pure deception!

### 1/5 — disappointed

*2020-09-24, version 3.0*

I’m literally watching my friend open his original version of this dictionary and it does not have the same definitions. I honestly, feel like it’s a waste of my money.

### 1/5 — Lacks full definitions

*2016-12-17, version 2.02*

I have the real Webster's 1828 dictionary and this app does not have full definitions. It's very incomplete and I want a refund.

### 1/5 — Hugely disappointing

*2016-01-30, version 1.02*

The app won't work on my phone but I was still able to purchase. That is terrible dishonesty!

### 1/5 — Lest & beseech not in 1828?

*2016-01-16, version 1.02*

Update this app! Basic words in hardcopy would make this app official!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app to have

*2026-08-10, version 4.0.0*

I’m so happy and glad I made this purchase. It’s easy to search for what I need. I can star words I’m looking for and come back to it later. It’s easy and convenient to have in my phone, especially because the physical book is so heavy to carry around.

### 5/5 — Great Quick Lookup of Word's Historical Definitions

*2026-05-24, version 4.0.0*

Great to have a quick way view a word's historical definitions, choose favorites and make notes about the word defined.

--- However, as of latest update the Note's Font Color is invisible. My iPhone iOS 26.5 Display Settings is set to Dark Mode.

### 5/5 — Pamela

*2025-11-02, version 4.0.0*

Excellent dictionary! I use it all the time for classic novels and Bible study.

### 5/5 — Love this!!

*2025-10-29, version 4.0.0*

I love this app!! I use it all the time to look up definitions - especially when working on Bible study. This one is essential.

### 5/5 — Your work to provide this is much appreciated!

*2025-10-19, version 4.0.0*

Thank you for making this information and history available on iOS and Apple computer devices. Well done!

### 5/5 — The Best!

*2025-09-16, version 4.0.0*

This has been my favorite for years. I don’t use any other Dictionary!

### 5/5 — Best dictionary

*2025-08-28, version 4.0.0*

This is the best dictionary for Bible study because it has scripture references, and it is the best for the king James version. I encourage everyone who reads the king james version to purchase this because it will open your eyes to the things that Strongs concordance cannot because Strong was not a Trinitarian and did not believe in the deity of Christ.

### 5/5 — Great for Bible study!

*2025-07-06, version 4.0.0*

This app is great for Bible study. Many of the words are given examples in Biblical terms and explanations. Teaching Sunday school I have asked my class to download this app for their own Bible study.

### 5/5 — Greatly appreciate this dictionary!

*2025-01-30, version 3.0*

I often need to look up words during Bible study, and I so appreciate that this dictionary can provide definitions and frequently even examples of how the word is used in scripture. My go to for Bible Study. I share it frequently and would love it a little easier.

### 5/5 — If you have a KJV bible then you need this.

*2023-09-07, version 3.0*

This app has enhanced my revelations and allows me to come to deeper understands of Gods Word.
