## What is Weche?

Weche is a pocket elder for African languages.

Ask anything in Luo, Kikuyu or Sheng, in whatever words come to you, and get back a real answer: the word itself, a pronunciation guide, the English meaning, and the cultural context that explains when people actually use it.

WHAT YOU GET WITH EVERY ANSWER

- The word or phrase, in the language you chose
- A pronunciation guide, so you can say it out loud with confidence
- The plain English meaning
- Two to four sentences of cultural context: where the word comes from, who says it, and when
- Three to five related words, so one question opens a small map instead of a dead end
- Suggested follow-up questions, for when you are not sure what to ask next
