## What is Weight Control by Polyspice?

Weight Control is about a habit, not a diet. It helps you learn how much of the food you already eat your body needs. Not which foods, not calories. How much.

If you want fast weight loss or one quick fix, this app is not for you. It aims for about a kilo a month, so the habit has time to form and stays when the app is closed.

HOW IT WORKS
Weigh yourself in the morning and record roughly how much you ate. Weight Control watches what your weight does in response and works out, for you alone, how much food holds you steady and how much moves you toward the weight you choose. There is no food database and nothing to look up.

ROUGH IS FINE
The numbers are there to build a habit, not to be exact. Record a meal in grams, or in fists: hold your fist next to the plate and say "about one and a half". Every number is an average over days, so a guess that is off by a fifth does not matter. Each number says how rough it still is.

OR MEASURE BY FEELING
An experiment you can switch on in Settings: instead of weighing your food, record how full you were before and after each meal. It moves your attention from the plate to your body.

MISSED DAYS ARE NORMAL
Falling behind is what makes people stop, so the app expects gaps. Each morning it offers to record the days you missed, or to accept an estimate and move on. A missed day is filled in and still counts.

RECENT DAYS COUNT MOST
Start running or change your dinners, and the numbers move within days. A bad week fades out of the picture within a month.

A REWARD FOR SHOWING UP
Weighing in earns mana, and so does answering for yesterday in the morning catch-up. Spend it on hitting a monster or watering a plant, so a morning when the scale has not moved still moves something. Mana is never taken away, and it never depends on what you ate.

REMINDERS, IF YOU WANT THEM
Ask your phone to remind you to weigh yourself or to record a meal, at a time you choose. Two more reminders arrive only on a day you forgot. Every reminder is off until you switch it on.

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS
No ads, no tracking and no analytics. Download everything you recorded as a spreadsheet, or delete your account from Settings, at any time.

WHY IT IS CALLED WEIGHT CONTROL
I started this project more than five years ago, as an app for myself. I was run over by a truck as a child, and I live with a handicap that gets worse when I weigh too much. So I have to lose weight, not to look good, but to respect a body with limits. I called the app Weight Control because that was what I needed.

Along the way it became something else. I learned how much of my own food my body needs, and I built a habit that keeps me there. It taught me to live healthier, and that is why I am sharing it.

One account works in the app and at app.weightcontrol.fit in any browser.
