### 2/5 — One purpose

*2026-08-03, version 5.0.3*

This app has one purpose: to pair via Bluetooth with the scale that I bought. That’s its only purpose. I would expect it to do that 100% of the time. It doesn’t

### 4/5 — Useful, though doesn't always get body composition on my scale.

*2026-07-13*

Definitely a subpar experience over the past month, since they've put in these new updates. Had some problems where it dropped integration with Apple Health, but today I was able to disconnect that and reconnect it, and it finally was able to synchronize the past month of measurements

I've also had issues for years with it sometimes getting the readings for body fat and muscle mass and water, but sometimes not. Sometimes it'll just stop getting those for weeks or months on end, which screws up all of the graphs because there aren't enough data points. I'd say it's about a 50-50 chance of whether that function of the scale works or not, and I've been using it for about 10 years.

### 3/5 — Hooray for major updates!

*2026-07-08, version 5.0.3*

Scrolling graphs are nice, but it now takes quite a bit longer to display the initial dashboard. Graph scaling needs help — a 2% variation in my water weight is scaled larger than an 8% weight range. Also, weekly/monthly averages are useless stats — moving averages would be way better!

### 2/5 — Update killed auto-syncing with Apple Health

*2026-06-29, version 5.0.3*

I use a macro app to monitor my weight and it relies on apple health to sync my weight daily. Weight gurus was syncing to apple health flawlessly before the major update. I have to sync manually now. I have tried reinstalling the app, restarting , removing Apple health integration and adding it again. I’ve spent too much time trying to get it working again.

### 2/5 — Not a fan of version 5

*2026-06-17, version 5.0.2*

I’m not a big fan of the new version that they’ve put out. The older app was easier to navigate, quicker to read values from the scale and also more reliable. My partner who weighs 30 pounds less than I do seems to sometimes get my readings now. The older app used to pick it up within a second or two now it may wait 20 seconds or more before reading shows up in the app.

### 3/5 — 5.0.2 mostly adequate

*2026-05-29, version 5.0.2*

5.0.2 fixed the serious apple health sync issue. The app is still slower and less information dense than previous versions, but it is at least functional again.

### 4/5 — Unfortunate bug — resolved

*2026-05-27, version 5.0.2*

A recent update broke the integration with Apple health. Disabling and reenable fixes it, but only for the most recent reading. The next day it’s broken again.

Update - took a few weeks but they were responsive and resolved the issue. Thanks!

### 1/5 — 5.0 is a terrible regression in every way

*2026-05-20, version 5.0.1*

What have you done ? This update is a disaster akin to what Sonos did. Previous versions were adequate, but the 5.0 series has so many issues. (1) completely broke Apple Health automatic synchronization AND (2) it is 5 times slower than it used to be AND (3) the information density is MUCH too low.

### 1/5 — Great before update broke integration

*2026-05-20, version 5.0.1*

The recent update broke the Apple Health integration. I now have to disable and re-enable it every morning.

### 1/5 — apple health integration broken

*2026-05-20, version 5.0.1*

does not sync with apple health. broken update

### 1/5 — Integration Broken

*2026-05-19, version 5.0.1*

It no longer syncs with Apple Health and needs daily resets to get it to do so. Please fix as this used to be a rock solid reliable feature.

### 1/5 — App WAS great, NOW it’s horrible

*2026-05-15*

What on earth happened to this app? The functionality and presentation of information have taken a serious step backward.

I used to genuinely like—and rely on—this app. It was clean, efficient, and presented data in a way that was actually useful. You could quickly understand trends, interact with graphs, and get real value out of it.

Now it’s frustrating to use and visually feels like a mess.

The redesign seems focused on looking “modern,” but it sacrifices what made the app good in the first place. There’s more empty space, less meaningful data visible, and the dashboard feels less functional. Important information is harder to find, and the layout doesn’t flow well.

The graphs are a major downgrade. They’re harder to read, less intuitive, and require more effort to get the same insights that used to be quick and seamless. For anyone who actually tracks progress seriously, this is a big loss.

It’s the classic case of style over function. The old version wasn’t flashy, but it worked extremely well. This version feels like a beginner or someone who doesn’t use the app and it performs worse where it matters.

This app used to be one I’d recommend without hesitation. Right now, it’s a huge leap back and I’m looking elsewhere for a scale and app that is what yours used to be. Please reconsider the direction and bring back the clarity, usability, and data-first design that made it great.

### 2/5 — Great, until the update broke Apple Health integration

*2026-05-14, version 5.0.1*

Been using these scales for years. Sync has been rock solid until early May, when suddenly it stopped. Looks like other reviewers are pointing out the same thing, but Greater Goods doesn’t seem to be addressing the issue.

### 1/5 — No Longer Syncs to Apple Health! Help!

*2026-05-14, version 5.0.1*

Since your latest “upgrade” this app no longer syncs to Apple Health using your built-in integration feature. I have tried all suggestions I can find online of installing reinstalling, clearing caches, then re-downloading my data from my weight guru cloud account, but all to no avail. It still does not sync! I’ve been a satisfied user for many years and this is just wrong. Can we just go back to the old version until you figure this out?

### 1/5 — Integration

*2026-05-14, version 5.0.1*

Latest app update is not great, but whatever they did, they broke the integration with Apple health. I have to go in each day and undo and redo the integration for data to transfer. Might as well just type it in the old fashioned way. Deleted apps, reinstalled, reset phone, nothing changes it. It’s a bug. Fix it please, had been considering a new scale, now it is at the top of my list for consideration.

### 1/5 — App update is terrible

*2026-05-14, version 5.0.1*

I’ve used this scale / app since 2015 and the new layout is awful- I hope they revert back to a prior version. Clunky having to scroll back to see weights from the current week, yet all time is miniature and on one screen. Bad design. Otherwise I loved this app for the last 10+ years!

### 2/5 — Stopped syncing with Apple Health

*2026-05-13, version 5.0.1*

The scale is fine. No problems there. The syncing is hit and miss though. I would have to open the app occasionally to get it to sync back up. Now, it just stopped since a month ago (April 2026). No amount of fiddling with it or resyncing works.

### 1/5 — Apple Health integration broken

*2026-05-12, version 5.0.1*

Used the scale and app for a long time but the recent update broke Apple Health syncing. Please fix. This is the only reason I use the app and scale.

### 1/5 — User Interface Does Not Fit Device Screen

*2026-05-10, version 5.0.1*

The user interface in release 5.0.1 is rendered disproportionately to my device screen (iPhone 13) such that the left and right edges extend beyond the screen, the buttons overlap one another, and the indicator of which button is selected overlaps other buttons. There is no way to scroll or resize it. The mechanism to read the scale's barcode screen repeatedly crashes the app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Lost my data

*2026-08-13, version 5.0.4*

After year of use, it threw up a login screen, lost all my data and asked a bunch of invasive information

### 1/5 — New update doesn’t work

*2026-08-04, version 5.0.3*

Ever since the new update my scale doesn’t sync to my app. I have to manually enter everything, even though the app says they are connected. If I’m not careful I will miss DAYS of weight tracking because the app doesn’t sync. This scale is useless to me now.

### 1/5 — Why the terrible change

*2026-07-14, version 5.0.3*

I have used the app since 2010. For years I appreciated the ease of use and clarity of data. A couple of months back there was a update that changed the dashboard and makes it basically unusable. Please go back to the original dashboard or make a new dashboard that allows additional functionality and ease of use.

### 1/5 — Used to be great - new update is ugly

*2026-06-19, version 5.0.2*

I hate the new update. It looks so goofy. I don’t know who even asked for it to be updated like this. I think we should have been given the option to switch between the first version vs now.

It’s hard to see progress, it doesn’t put a point for each day under the “week” tab like it used to. It’s just garbage. I’m going to find a new scale/app to use now.

### 1/5 — Weight guru and it’s companion scale.

*2026-06-08, version 5.0.2*

Don’t even bother downloading this app. After a year, my scale stopped writing the data to the app. After calling and being hung up on four times and sending several emails, the problem is still not resolved. Their customer service is the worst.

### 1/5 — Extremely Disappointed With This Update

*2026-06-06, version 5.0.2*

This is the worst update ever. It is extremely slow loading data from the scale. Can you guys hire a professional graphic designer? The new graphics and fonts are awful!

### 1/5 — Wish I had a time machine

*2026-06-03, version 5.0.2*

The last update was horrible. If I had a time machine I would stop myself from doing the update. It’s so bad I am contemplating switching scale.

### 1/5 — App

*2026-05-27, version 5.0.2*

Intrusive and why???

### 1/5 — New version is awful

*2026-05-25, version 5.0.2*

New version is terrible. You can’t click and drag across the graph anymore. The view is much too zoomed. The UX design is terrible. This was change for the sake of change. Note also that it artificially smooths the graph between data points in a way that it did not used to do.

### 1/5 — Update broke Apple Health syncing

*2026-05-21, version 5.0.1*

After the recent update, my new entries no longer sync from the app to Apple Health. Apple Health is still connected with permissions, but even after disconnecting and reconnecting, new entries don’t sync on a regular basis

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great customer service

*2026-05-28*

After reporting that Apple Health wasn't syncing properly after upgrading to 5.0.1, I received an email response and provided log entries, which prompted the rollout of 5.0.2 with a fix. The app works as expected again. Thanks again for supporting your product that keeps me accountable every morning with a weigh-in.

**Developer response:** Hi, we apologize for any issue you might be having! Could you send details of what you are experiencing to our customer support at info@greatergoods.com? We'll get you up and running. Just mention case number: WGiOS324

### 5/5 — Still going strong

*2025-12-02*

I’ve been using this app for 8 years. Setup was easy, just need to know the model number of your scale since they support so many scales. Switching batteries and even upgrading to a new scale was seamless.

As long as you open the app all the data gets synced to Apple health.

The weight graphs are great to visualize tends. Tried a number of other apps and keep coming back to this app. They really did it right.

Do wish you could scroll back in the month view (like Apple Health does) and that it also showed min/max on the graph, instead of just the average.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for your positive feedback. We appreciate our customer's input.

### 5/5 — Works as advertised

*2025-09-09*

Updated review: sept 2025 - black screen resolved itself after a few days. Thanks to devs for replying to my review. I came here to be fair to them and report back that whatever happened was more likely an iOS bug because other apps that used the camera were “black” for a day too. (iOS 18 on 16 Pro Max).

New review: Camera function doesn’t work - black screen (resolved/temporary bug)

Old review: Works with Apple Health / HealthKit data includes weight, body fat percentage, and lean body mass. App has been reliable and updated for latest phones & screen sizes etc. I'm running it on a 7 Plus. Thanks

**Developer response:** So sorry for the trouble you've had. We would love to help fix any issues you may have been experiencing. Please contact us at info@greatergoods.com or by phone at (866) 991-8494. Also, mention case number: BHiOS051

*2024-11-12, version 4.3.0*

### 5/5 — Great app

*2023-12-05*

This has been a great app to track my weight. I’ve used it several years now and it’s been very handy and consistent. I really like it.

### 5/5 — Sudden Issues

*2023-06-26*

I have been using this app religiously since 2019. The info is linked to my Apple Watch. The Apple Watch is also linked to my MyChart app. All of my record keeping has been worth it.
