### 2/5 — Cool idea bad implementation

*2025-12-09, version 5.3.7*

The app is so buggy. It keeps prompting me to login but im already logged in. Setting up garmin was painful as it kept spinning and getting stuck.
I feel like there is so much spam in the app too. I input my weight/etc in one page then I hit it enter and it redirects me to another input page of the same info.
I feel like I’m in a maze with this app. It has a really bad user experience
The idea of healthywage is cool tho. I wish they were better at making apps tho

### 4/5 — I love the concept but the app malfunctions

*2025-08-29, version 5.3.5*

I just started using the app; the app is mostly easy to navigate except for when you are doing a verified weigh-in. This is because it gives you you an error message as if the video didn’t upload and it also sends an error notification to my phone that the video didn’t upload but in my email I did get a confirmation that the verified weigh-in was successfully submitted. Still though in the app you can’t go back and check to see if your weigh-in was successfully submitted unless you reboot the app or phone. Please fix this bug and I can give 5 stars.

### 1/5 — Scam 😵‍💫

*2025-01-15, version 5.3.2*

“If you do not complete payment it will become bad debt.”
Threatening emails with terrible grammar, I’d show a screenshot but it doesn’t allow. Total scam just cancel the card you use if you try it, you can’t cancel at all even under 30 days, so I just cancelled the whole card💀don’t use your bank either maybe Cashapp or something. I’m not saying u won’t win anything but it’s so many bad reviews of even having to fight for them to understand you aren’t cheating during weigh ins, not worth it but great concept :/ it’s always the same guy who answers the customer service line btw, very fishy and confusing app lay out as well you can’t click certain things on the app.

### 1/5 — Would have signed up if it weren’t for the app

*2025-01-14, version 5.3.1*

Not a user friendly app! I wasted too much time trying to navigate and so decided to investigate competitors rather than continue to spin my wheels here. Great idea, but they need to invest in app development to not lose customers. Very frustrating.

### 1/5 — Excessive fees to get payout

*2024-12-31, version 5.3.0*

The idea itself is solid and I wouldn’t call them a scam. Their fees to get a PayPal payout is egregious though. Ive used a similar app and never had to pay extra money to get my money. To say this is PayPal not them is also not completely true because again a similar app pays out through PayPal with no fee. It seems like they’re passing their cost of business on to the consumer and getting a percentage of winnings back by claiming PayPal is the one charging it. Yes you can get a check mailed for $7 which is what I did but why should I have to wait longer to get money I earned just due to corporate greed. I’d respect an upfront claim of just taking a percentage of winnings than to gaslight.

### 1/5 — The app is of little help the service feels scammy

*2024-11-23, version 5.2.5*

Like the title says my experience was negative overall and it’s quite the hassle to get your reward after loosing the weight and trying to get my cash out

### 1/5 — Successfully lost weight but payout method unclear and lots of fees

*2024-09-25, version 5.2.1*

Successfully lost weight but payout method unclear and lots of fees

### 5/5 — Retracting my previous review

*2024-09-14, version 5.2.0*

I am retracting my previous review. I got kicked out of the app because I accidentally signed up with two different email addresses and it canceled my registration. I was frantic thinking that all of my hard work had go to complete waste. But I contacted health wage via email, they explained what happened told me what to do to get hooked back up and now I’m signed up for two challenges making the first one that much easier and quicker to complete. I will do an update after I have completed my challenges and let you know what the outcome is. Love it so far. Ok stepping off.

### 3/5 — Y’all should check your algorithm

*2024-09-06, version 5.2.0*

Because telling a 105 lb girl to lose 40 lb as recommended by some organization ain't normal lol. I was forced to increase the weight loss to that amount by your recommendation or else i couldn’t continue to the next screen. Although the last screen thankfully said losing >10% of weight would put my BMI at risk. But you should have built in that check before the last step. Also, maybe also expand your market. Because i don't really want to lose weight, i just want to stay fit, but i guess I'm nor your target audience. Too bad, the concept looked interesting and you could have a much bigger TAM figure if you included the fitness people rather than just people trying to lose weight.

### 5/5 — Winner

*2024-08-30, version 5.1.9*

Bet on my self and one a good chunk of change.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t do it.

*2026-04-25, version 5.4.0*

It is not good and if you want to cancel you can’t no one responds and you get stuck paying for something you can’t be a part of like let’s say a n accident or injury. Disappointing.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2025-11-17, version 5.3.7*

Tried to bet 1k/month that I could lose 20 lbs, at the end of the bet they wanted to pay me back my 6k plus $60. You are giving them 100-1 odds, please don’t use this app. There have to be better alternatives.

### 1/5 — Good in theory

*2025-11-10, version 5.3.6*

The app is good for motivating you to lose weight. However, they stopped sending me notifications after I signed up for the free bet campaign. I was getting weekly email notifications for the previous 3 months and haven’t received any since starting the campaign. I was expecting to get an end date notification due to the program lasting almost two months. I never did and now it is apparently too late win the money even though I lost more than was required. So do NOT bet actual money unless you know you will remember the end date.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2025-08-11, version 5.3.4*

Slow buggy app, features that don’t work and just spin when clicked on. Overall seems like a poorly coded scam app.

### 1/5 — Not a User Friendly Interface

*2025-06-13, version 5.3.4*

Only allowed to do 10 “active” games at a time, but it does not number them (1, 2, 3… 10). It also does not prevent you from signing up for more than 10.

You are expected to count the games yourself each time you sign up for a new challenge. If you miscount, then HealthyWage blames you and punishes you.

This functionality should be built into the app, and not reliant on the user. doesn’t keep track.

Also, you can’t sort the games at all. They are in one order, and that’s it. I want to be able to change up the order to show how many days are left, or how many pounds are left for a challenge, or even alphabetize the challenges - but no. There are also no color scheme options, and the app has terrible colors. It looks like it was built in the early 90s.

The app takes 20% of all the money from each game - and clearly none of it is going towards improving the app.

### 1/5 — Pass for me

*2025-05-24, version 5.3.4*

I actually enjoy sweatcoin and thought if they were partnering together if must be a decent app. However sweatcoin isn’t in the business of taking or giving money. After reading the first, second and third review I’m removing this from my device, sadly, it is not what it said it was, as I read in the sweepstake rules that ‘no credit card was required’ im finding that hard to believe now, so I’m just going to error on the side of caution.

### 1/5 — What a joke

*2025-05-16, version 5.3.4*

lol if I paid in $500 a month for 6 months to lose 30 lbs I would gain $3030 of which $3000 is MY MONEY. I would literally get $30 after potentially losing $3000!! And not only that, there’s a 7% processing fee at the end. The fact that this is rated high is insane.

Lol so I had a typo. Losing $7 of the $30 isn’t any better 🤣

This is truly insane. I don’t know how they can say that you win $3030 on your wager when $3000 is your own money. How have they not been sued?

### 1/5 — High Risk, Negative Reward

*2025-04-18, version 5.3.4*

You will be able to put money into the site very easily, but good luck getting it back. most payouts will be between $5 - $12. After receiving a “payout” you’ll have the option to pay a minimum fee of $7 to receive a check in 2-3 weeks. or if you fail to read the small print you can use paypal for a quicker payout and be charged a 3% fee which may or may not actually be more then they amount earned.

a fair suggestion would be allow the payout to be credited to the same form of payment was accepted

### 1/5 — One and done

*2025-03-10, version 5.3.3*

Once you lose the weight they don’t allow you to continue to lose weight in another challenge. (Yes even from a lower weight than my previous weight goal not above) Yes they will take your bet a second time but will only offer 1% gain regardless as to how much you bet to lose and how much you wager. It’s discouraging for progressive goals.

### 5/5 — Giving 5 Stars to Grab Your Attention

*2026-08-08, version 5.4.0*

Please, before you do HealthyWage make sure you truly know what it will take for you as an individual to lose weight. I mean you really, really, really must know.

Do not start HW without first understanding what it will take because you will lose your money.

I was motivated but due to very sad family events, I became too stressed to continue. Regardless of how sad my situation was, HW refused to reimburse $600 I gave.

You only get one chance with HW.

They also don’t tell you in advance that if you want to extend your time, you can, but only for a minimum of 6 months. That means that if you only had a month left to meet your goal, they will not let you only extend a month. In addition, you have to “buy” for the 6-month extension, which is the same amount you have been paying.

Here’s even the sadder part, you will not get refunded for the 6-month extension.

Honestly, if there’s ever a class action lawsuit again HW for violating Unfair Competition Law, I would support it wholeheartedly.

In sum, please, please understand what it requires to lose the amount of weight you want to lose and only sign up if you understand or working with a credible trainer and/or doctor that will make sure you reach your goals.

Wishing you all the best.

### 5/5 — Scam

*2026-08-06, version 5.4.0*

You have to pay money to lose weight on your own

### 5/5 — Great motivation

*2025-12-16, version 5.3.7*

I initially used HealthyWage to motivate my weight loss, it definitely worked for me. I still use the step challenges to help keep me exercising all year long . It’s not the thought of earning money but the cost of losing money that gets me out on a cold winter day. I never regret a good long walk.

### 5/5 — Bet on yourself!

*2025-12-12, version 5.3.7*

I won over $3500 for losing 70 pounds in a year… and I have kept it off for over a year and a half. HealthyWage was a great incentive for me. I am so happy that I bet on my health!

### 5/5 — Great experience!

*2025-12-10, version 5.3.7*

I lost a total of 31 pounds, gained a lot of good habits and a new health perspective and received a great payout at the end.

### 5/5 — Worth every penny

*2025-12-09, version 5.3.7*

I bet on myself big time to lose 70 lbs. Then I got pregnant and my bet went on pause for a year. Then I decided this was it. I was going to make it. And guess what…I just got my check for $8349! This app helped me stick to my goals and pushed me to build great habits and stay consistent! And it literally paid off.

### 5/5 — Weight loss motivated.

*2025-04-23, version 5.3.4*

I lost about 40lbs in the last 4 months using this app. This is the only thing that has actually worked for me. This is major motivation!

### 5/5 — Awesome idea

*2024-12-28, version 5.3.0*

Awesome idea. I am very motivated by money, so this might work. I picked an amount I can’t afford to lose. I like the 2 different challenge types, weight loss and steps. This app would have the full package if it also included wagers for sleep scores! Make me track my sleep scores on apps and make 5% improvements. My sleep is horrible, and that could help me track and improve it. “That which is measured, is improved”.

### 5/5 — Best Ever

*2024-11-18, version 5.2.5*

Healthy Wager app is the only program that has been successful for me. At 55 I am finally learning what it means to set achievable, healthy goals. Most importantly the app helps to keep moving the finish line as I get stronger… which in and of itself helps motivate me to do more, keep going, get better. I recommend it for everyone.

### 5/5 — Great time getting in 10,000 a day

*2024-11-01, version 5.2.4*

Great way to make sure you get your steps in. Enjoyed seeing how everyone was doing compared to me
