### 5/5 — Only Workout Tracking App You Need

*2023-05-22, version 3.0.6*

Gymking is the only exercise tracking app you need in your life. In addition to the standard tracking functionalities, the app offers both a built-in pause timer and timers for individual sets of time-based exercises. The design is minimalist, clean and customisable. Best of all, it's free. The developer has created a true masterpiece.

### 5/5 — Love it!!!

*2023-02-27, version 3.0.4*

I love this app!
I got it in February of 2022 and have used it every time I workout. I have tried a lot of workout apps, and have even paid for some. I find that I am more engaged and motivated to workout using this app. Also it makes my workouts faster since I already know what I am going to head to next. I have gymking equipment at home as well so it was a must to have the app. This gymking hits all the marks that I am looking for.

Free
Easy to use
Basic to what you would want for tracking your workouts

Thanks to the developers for this. I appreciate it.

### 5/5 — Theee best gym app!

*2023-01-20, version 3.0.3*

Keeps me on track and organized! To be able to look back and see calculated one rep max helps aid in progressive overload and progress in the gym!! 10 out of 10 plus 10! 💪🏾

### 5/5 — Great

*2023-01-09, version 3.0.3*

So easy to use and gives so much data, would recommend to anyone no matter their gym level or how long the have been going.

### 5/5 — Almost perfect

*2023-01-04, version 3.0.3*

When adding a custom exercise, you can only choose one muscle. Some exercises hits multiple muscles, such as push-ups. Being able to add these extra muscles would make the reporting much more accurate. Also, isometric exercises are trending up in popularity. Being able to properly track these load/time based rep exercises would be a great feature to add.

### 5/5 — Very good app

*2022-12-31, version 3.0.3*

Much better than any of the others. However, when recording exercises which don’t require a weight (such as plank), there should be a way to record the time.
Other than that it’s very good!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-07-02, version 3.0.3*

Hey, it would be really nice if you could add a more specific muscle group definition that would be connected to the “muscle image” in the “exercises section”, i.e. instead of just “legs” you could divide it into quads, hams, glutes and so on. So that if I add a “leg extension” exercise, it doesn’t show all my lower body involved.

### 5/5 — Really really good

*2022-04-03, version 3.0.2*

I was blown away how simple and useful this app was. AND it give diagrams. I took me 5 minutes to learn and honestly I deleted all my other apps for this one!

### 5/5 — Simple logger

*2022-02-03, version 2.2.9*

A very simple workout log book.

Need another graph of daily weight/sets/reps and a mode to analyse any workout performance to track progression.

### 5/5 — Perfect for simplistic people

*2022-01-04, version 2.2.9*

To be honest I never write reviews - I love this app! I did not want anything too sophisticated with macros micros statistics and stuff - I just want to track what I do so I don’t forget.

Overall Review: 5 Stars, for my purpose (keeping track of the amount of workouts and the workout routines / exercises / weights) perfect!
 Pro:
-enough themes to choose from, yet still not overbearing
-overview of weekly and monthly statistics -chronology of workouts (also possible to “duplicate” past workouts)
-You can add any exercise you want with any name you want to call it
-you have an insider joke with your friends calling cable flys the “david cershew”? Done
-you can export your exercise
-you can edit the “about GymKing” and have the developer say “I’m a great person that’s why this app is free - BEEFCAKE”

 Negatives:
-none, this is all I need

 Constructive criticism:
-within the profile you can see “activity last week” and “activity in 2022” - I believe it would be nice to have an “activity this month” widget just to round out the picture - food for thought.

Thanks for the great app, I enjoy it immensely!

### 5/5 — Widget

*2021-11-13, version 2.2.9*

Would love to see widgets added

### 5/5 — Great app to rack workouts.

*2021-10-18, version 2.2.9*

I wish you could change the color of the box where you input weight / reps. Update: after a few weeks of usage I still love this app BUT I wish it connected to apple health and I wish that the intervals for timed exercises could be set to minutes as well.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Hopeless

*2020-07-26, version 2.2.6*

Has a small section of exercise to choose from. Hasn’t even got Chin Ups listed lol.

### 3/5 — Add my own exercise

*2020-05-05, version 2.2.6*

The setup is very user friendly, but it would be nice to be able to add my own exercises instead of chi post from a limited list.

### 4/5 — Great App, one suggestion.

*2023-12-10, version 3.0.7*

If the timer could keep going in the background when you have to leave the app to switch songs etc. This app would be perfect!

### 4/5 — Great Fitness Tracker

*2022-01-15, version 2.2.9*

Amazing app. Intuitive to use and lots of pretty graphs. Quite poor list of default exercises, but the app allows you to quite easily enter your own in.

Missing a few features such and the ability to add supersets, warm up sets and notes. But, generally still quit a solid app. And hey, it’s free!

### 4/5 — Free, Simple and Useful Charts

*2022-01-10, version 2.2.9*

Great app, everything you need to track your progress. Would be cool if muscle groups and muscle heatmap were more specific.

Response to developer — I think all major muscles would be convenient so bicep, tricep, lats, traps, quads, hamstrings

And then even accessories would be nice like forearms, calves. Especially since calves usually don’t get worked out during most other leg exercises.

### 4/5 — Perfect if you want something simple.

*2021-01-23, version 2.2.7*

Great if you want something simple for logging workouts, weights, reps and don’t want something bloated with videos, social, etc.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2020-10-16, version 2.2.7*

I’ve been looking for a simple app that can get the job done. My only request is that you add a cardio feature and add a toggle that starts the rest timer as soon as you log a set. I find that makes things run smooth during your workout. Great work!

### 4/5 — Love it!

*2020-07-09, version 2.2.6*

Love the app and it’s design! Just wish you were able to add tracking cardio.

### 5/5 — Best minimalistic workout tracker

*2025-09-22, version 4.0.7*

The title says it all…
And it‘s even completely free!
Such a good app and an exception to all these overloaded, overcomplified trackers which are defenitely not worth their money.

10/10 or 5⭐️/5⭐️

Will recommend it to my homies

### 5/5 — Still using after 3 years!

*2025-09-21, version 4.0.7*

Still using this app after three years. Left a review when I first got it suggesting some possible features and they were implemented. Since then there have been many incremental improvements. Love this app, it is free, has a nice sleek UI and works well.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2025-05-19, version 4.0.5*

Great App! Has everything you need for your strength training and gives you useful statistics on top.
A great addition would be a cardio category to better log cardio training.

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

*2025-05-17, version 4.0.5*

Perfect for tracking workouts. I would add the option for additional notes next to each set to incorporate drop sets, supersets or partials. Additionally a section for cardio exercises with minute counts would prove helpful.

### 5/5 — All that you can ask for!

*2024-12-05, version 4.0.4*

I love this app to its core! Very minimal and functional! It he only thing that I wish for is the ability to send the timer to the background and get a notification / ringer when the timer expires! Else this is perfect!

### 5/5 — Encantado

*2024-09-13*

Me ha encantado la aplicación. Sencilla pero super útil. Daré mi agradecimiento porque es justo lo que necesitaba. Sigan desarrollando mas

**Developer response:** ¡Muchas gracias por tus amables palabras!

### 5/5 — Simple, yet effective

*2024-04-27, version 4.0.1*

Thank you for this useful companion since 2019. This app is actually better than most paid apps. Tracking is straight forward, some simple statistics (P.S. I‘d love some more stats) and workout library. Fantastic!

### 5/5 — Simplest & Most Convenient Workout Logger

*2024-01-19, version 3.0.7*

East app to use. Been using for 3 years. No complains.

### 5/5 — Best workout tracking app

*2023-12-19, version 3.0.7*

This is the single greatest workout app it’s a mix of features you normally have to pay for there are only donations. No other in app purchases. Very grateful to the creator, thank you!

### 5/5 — Simple, & efficient!

*2023-08-06, version 3.0.7*
