### 4/5 — Great potential, room for improvement

*2025-01-27, version 2.2.1*

I really like the concept of the app. The execution is also actually quite good considering the complexity of developing a good program with all of the variables that go into training.

Good stuff

1. Configurable

2. Relatively simple to use

3. The programming and progression for the main lifts seems solid.

4. I really like how it handles rating the main lifts. (3 lights, and RIR)

However there are a couple of weak points. Before I go into them I should note that they have announced a new version of the app that is supposed to address some of these issues.

1. Obfuscation. There is basically no information on why the programming is organized the way it is, sometimes it can feel random.

2. Accessories programming. This is a huge weak point. There is no progressive overload, or periodization for accessories. It feels like it just picks a random movement, random rep range, and will only prescribe a weight equal to whatever you did last in that accessory regardless of rep range or set number.

3. General bugs. There is a good amount of buggy behavior in the programming. For example it frequently puts in more sessions of pulls per week than I have set as the maximum for the week.

4. Support. There is a discord server with a QA, bug reports, and new user help channels. I’ve only been in the server for a couple of weeks. However most questions and posts go unanswered. If there is a response to a help request it is almost always from a community member, not from the devs.

### 3/5 — Its ok for intermediate lifters that dont have time

*2024-08-15, version 2.2.1*

The app will give you a pretty good program based on your best lifts and your goals, but you can do most of the things the program does by yourself for free. The only downside of doing that is that you’ll have to take some time learning how to program for olympic weightlifting and all the nuances that come with it.
If you dont have solid technique on your lifts this app is not for you, become proficient with your technique and get stable 1 Rm’s before considering paying for this app.
Another issue is if you dont know what mistakes you are making in your technique the app won’t help you, so you have to know what you’re doing wrong and make tweaks to the program to add corrective exercises.

### 4/5 — Love the flexibility and adaptability!

*2023-10-31, version 2.1.5*

This app is great for Olympic weightlifters who need a program that’s flexible for their lifestyle! It’s fantastic, I love how you can dynamically pick which days you can lift and it will automatically adjust your programming to keep you on schedule with the training volume/intensity. The community also seems pretty active with videos and form checks and overall communication! It’s great and especially as someone who trains alone it does a good job of making me feel like I have people to talk about training with!

### 3/5 — Support hasnt kept up with bugs

*2023-05-15, version 2.0.2*

Started off very responsive with dealing with bugs but team has fallen off lately (Switching workout days isnt working, constantly switches to power jerk split jerk)

### 3/5 — .ai’m lovin’ it!

*2022-10-31, version 1.4.7*

The subscription is a lil pricey but worth every penny! The app personalises a workout programme for you which you then further tailors sets as you go by adjusting each set.

Only reason I’ve given it a 3 is because it does not support an offline mode. The signal in my gym is pretty crap so it the app chooses to log me out every time…

### 5/5 — Great app and community

*2022-09-07, version 1.3.3*

This app was the perfect solution for me as I was relocating and between gyms. While I’ve moved on to in-person coaching (the folks at Weightlifting House do say the app is the best way to go other than having a dedicated coach for your every session), I had a great experience while I was on the app. I think the most impressive part was definitely the fact that it was constantly being updated. The team is really invested, both in developing the app to be better and better as well as providing coaching through the community platform. Highly recommmend!

### 5/5 — It’s a work in progress

*2022-08-01, version 1.2.8*

The app is a workin progress, what it was in May is not what the app is now and won’t be what the App is in future. Fixes seem to come in pretty quick. The ability to have your program adjust to the realities of life as a weightlifting hobbyist is a godsend.

It’s not perfect, but the team se ma to be legitimately pushing for it which is all you can ask for.

### 5/5 — Builds a weightlifting program tailored to you

*2022-07-26, version 1.2.8*

This app is absolutely brilliant. You plug in your existing lifts and it generates a program based off your numbers - but it’s not just that. Rate each lift throughout the workout and the app can sense if you’re having a rough vs great day and adjust the weights for you.

New programming for the next week is generated at the end of the past week, and the app can clearly identify your weak points and tailor next week’s program to them.
It seems that no two programs are alike! I’ve already hit big PRs on the app.

Unless you have a coach 24/7 watching every lift, there is nothing comparable to the powers of this app. It even pairs well with coached athletes. Coaches can focus on the technique and execution of the lifts. Leave the programming to the robots.

### 5/5 — App works again

*2022-07-15, version 1.2.8*

Maybe I just tried to sign up when they were doing maintenance. it works now

### 2/5 — I did enjoy it

*2022-07-07, version 1.2.8*

Somehow was logged out, around my billing date, payment came out and I thought it was just a bug… app doesn’t let me get past the ‘subscribe’ menu. Few emails back and forth with the member service team and they seem to not have a clue what’s going on, they know my monthly subscription has been paid (now down £44) basically I’ve paid for the month and can’t use the app 😂

It’s a shame because I was really enjoying the app it’s really good, but not worth £44 a month especially if you can’t access it !

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2022-06-24, version 1.2.7*

This is intuitive and powerful. Provides an excellent platform for those looking to follow a structured training plan without access to a coach

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Misleading

*2025-09-17, version 2.4.1*

Wants to charge you $50/month and doesn’t give you even a taste of the program. No free trial or anything

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-05-29, version 2.4.1*

Takes your money and never lets you get past subscription page. Yet, I checked my credit card and I’ve been charged. Still can’t get in and customer service is no where to be found!! Beware of this money grab.

### 1/5 — Okay programming, terrible customer service

*2024-08-01, version 2.2.1*

The app is a bit quirky and takes a while to get the hang of. Not much is said up front and you have to manipulate settings if you truly want to customize your program. Updates are infrequent and not announced. But if you follow the program you’ll probably see your lifts go up.
You’ll get an invite to a discord server which is a good place to get feedback and talk about weightlifting.
But the customer service is terrible. Free training camp attendance is advertised as a perk for annual subscribers. When they offered a training camp, there was no $0 option for annual subscribers. The owner told me to pick the monthly subscriber option and I would get reimbursed. After three months of back and forth, I still have no reimbursement and he stopped responding to my messages. There does not seem to be a “customer service” option on the app or through the website.

### 1/5 — Issues

*2023-08-29, version 2.1.4*

Can’t seem to get past the registration part. I reset the phone but no luck

### 1/5 — App keeps crushing

*2023-08-07, version 2.0.5*

I just paid and about to build a new program but the app keeps crushing. Need a refund

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2023-08-06, version 2.0.5*

Tried opening it a couple of times and it just shows the loading screen. No responsiveness, no nothing. Just dead. Tried it on an iPad and it’s the same thing. Horrible app.

### 1/5 — Don’t Even Bother

*2022-05-31, version 1.2.2*

If you are looking for an authentic training program and not a stolen idea to a program that already exists, then this is NOT the one. I was hoping for something new and exciting for my weightlifting training. Yet, I am walking away realizing I wasted my money on a greedy copy only trying to make a buck. Back to the drawing board. :(

### 1/5 — Questions before paywall

*2022-05-17, version 1.2.1*

20 questions -> collect email and password -> paywall.

You know when you go to that site and they say it’s free, then you spend 10 minutes filling out the information only to run into a “enter your credit card info” at the end? Such a wanker move.

### 2/5 — Mitigated :/

*2023-10-31, version 2.1.6*

I’ve followed the normal programming for around 5 months and I’ve seen only marginal progress in both OLY lifts. I trained three times a week, followed rather closely the program. I believe the percentages prescribed are not agressive enough (in accordance to my PRs) and squats are way to light . Rather than focusing on 3 movements the program prescribes 4-5 main movement and it is difficult to warm up correctly for each of them and complete the total workout in less than 2h. 2 minutes or rest prescribed is not enough for heavy movements ! However this prgram is very much a relief, u don’t have to calculate percentages think about what to do…If your goal is to progress fast I believe it is NOT worth 40$/month.

### 2/5 — App Crashing

*2023-08-07, version 2.0.5*

I have tried to sign up for over 2 weeks. Each time the app crashes.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Really helpful

*2025-09-24, version 2.4.1*

I found the app very useful as a beginner and it’s helped me progress.

### 5/5 — Initiative and dependable

*2025-07-17, version 2.4.1*

I’ve used this app on and off for weightlifting programming over the years. Following the program results in progress. It adjusts during your workout and weekly.

My favourite feature is being able to change how many days a week I do for the next week.

The best! I’ll be using this for all weightlifting programming.

### 5/5 — Pleasantly surprised

*2025-07-17, version 2.4.1*

Since the release of the app I’ve used it on and off a few times. The updates over the years have made it an improved app to use if your schedule varies. It’s not 100% perfect, but for the price compared to one on one coaching, it’s tough to beat.

### 5/5 — Amazing Tool for Training

*2025-07-17, version 2.4.1*

I don’t normally leave reviews, but this app is so awesome I had to! I have been training for a long time and this is by far the best tool I have ever used for programming. I get to pick my focus and it adapts lift by lift, week by week, program by program. I highly recommend it!

### 5/5 — Title

*2025-07-17, version 2.4.1*

Great app 👌

### 5/5 — Excellente app !

*2025-02-12, version 2.2.1*

### 5/5 — Love the App!

*2023-05-20, version 2.0.2*

I love the app and can’t wait to see how they expand!

### 5/5 — Wow!

*2023-02-23, version 1.5.1*

It was great! I got a 5kg PR!

### 5/5 — You’ll find success if you put in the hard work!

*2023-01-17, version 1.4.10*

I recently started using weightlifting.ai to prepare for my comeback to competition after taking a year off. I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with the program and its ability to help me get back into top form.

One of the things that drew me to weightlifting.ai was the involvement of Max Aita. I had the pleasure of working with him four years ago and knew that anything he was a part of would be phenomenal. I was not disappointed.

The program is tailored specifically for weightlifting and is designed to help athletes of all levels improve their technique and increase their strength. The exercises are challenging but doable, and the progressions are clearly laid out. The support from the coaches and community is also top-notch.

I highly recommend weightlifting.ai to anyone looking to take their weightlifting to the next level. Whether you're just starting or looking to get back into competition, weightlifting.ai has something to offer.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2023-01-13, version 1.4.10*

This app has been an amazing way to regulate my sessions day to day, manage my fatigue, and not feel discouraged on days I wasn’t doing as well, because the app took care of all of it!

Highly recommend.
