At one time, an apprenticeship or trade school would have been the only way to gain this type of knowledge. I never spent much time practicing Stick welding it was a grave mistake. Now I am improving on skills I never became facile doing. My reason to go to welding school was TIG welding of as 304& 316 for marine use. I have Tig. Mig. and Stick this course is perfect for me. Each seminar gives me a better understanding of real world problems and solutions explained buy experts. My friend and welding instructor of many years passed a year ago. Yes he was patient and was working with me on STICk only he insisted on SMAW as our subject. At 80 I am helped a great deal by your teaching! The information that these guys are willing to give out is invaluable. I’ve been welding for about 5 years now and am 100% self taught with the help of a lot of these instructors. All of that said, it now has allowed me to now support myself and my family as a welding and fabrication business owner.
