Well Done is a study app for the Food Protection Manager certification exam, the one Florida and many other states require for the person in charge of a restaurant.

It is built for Latino cooks, managers, and owners who know the kitchen but take the exam in English. Every question appears in English, as on the real exam, and Spanish is one tap away: first the question, to confirm the context, and if needed, the answer choices too.

What makes it different: the app records when you needed Spanish and shows it as a traffic light. Green: correct with no help. Amber: correct, but only after reading the Spanish (your English is what failed, not your knowledge). Red: incorrect (that is content you still need). Now you know what to study and what to practice.

Something most people do not know when they start: Florida accepts 13 ANAB-CFP accredited programs, not just one, and nine of them also give the exam in Spanish. So why train in English? Because you can take the exam in Spanish, but the kitchen is not in Spanish: the inspector speaks English, the sanitizer label is in English, and the Food Code is in English. Amber measures exactly that gap.

What you get:
• 338 original questions across the 9 exam areas, each with an explanation of why every choice is right or wrong, plus the trap the question is setting.
• Tap any English word and see what it means in Spanish without leaving the question. The words that slowed you down are saved for flashcard review.
• Read aloud: hear the question, each answer choice, and the explanation in your own iPhone's voice, in English or Spanish, offline.
• "Ready for the exam?" by area, measured at 75 % with no help, and what to work on first.
• Short sessions for when you only have five minutes: 10 new ones, My weakest area, and So you don't forget.
• Question of the day and a day streak, with one automatic grace day.
• "How sure were you?": a lucky guess does not count as learned and comes back for review.
• Review your misses: a question leaves review only after two clean hits in a row with no Spanish, and the choices are shuffled so you do not memorize letters.
• A 90-question, 2-hour practice exam (or a half exam: 45 questions, 1 hour) with the current area weighting, which you can pause and resume. At the end, the breakdown by area and how much you missed was content versus English. The screen stays on while it runs.
• Numbers sheet: the temperatures, times, and concentrations they always ask about.
• English-Spanish glossary of 205 terms, with a printable 189-term sheet (AirPrint) to take to the exam: the examinee handbook allows a clean printed bilingual dictionary and bans electronic ones; check with your testing center first, because not every program allows it.
• Share your result as a grid of emoji, without revealing any question.
• Everything ships inside the app: it works offline from day one and keeps your progress on your iPhone. No account, no ads, no subscription, and no personal data.

An app by El Tarantin.
