## What is Wellscapes?

Tap into the healing power of nature by taking 5 minutes to immerse yourself along the shores of a lake as the sun rises, in a northern forest as spring unfolds, or at the edge of a river surrounded by autumn splendor. Wellscapes,  developed by the University of Minnesota's Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing and renowned nature photographer Craig Blacklock, offers you the opportunity to watch stunning nature videos in silence, with music and nature sounds, or with music, nature sounds and gentle guiding.  Being in nature reduces stress, elevates our mood, and improves our overall health and well-being. There is growing evidence that nature truly heals!  "The Forest Awakens" inspires rejuvenation and is provided FREE of charge with the app.  Additional titles focusing on mindfulness, letting go, intention and possibility are available for $1.99 through In App Purchase. I am also a therapist (physical) and I use this app for distraction and pain reduction for my patients. Works great, with or without guided imagery.

This app is perfect for me.  I had wanted one which utilised the visual senses along with meditation.  I searched high and low and discovered this one.  The footage of nature is wonderfully soothing, as is the voice, and I find I am in a state of relaxation far faster than with a traditional meditation. They are only four or five minutes in length so you can fit them in at any time.

Can't get Winter Marsh to download.  Says I've bought it but not downloaded.  Just keeps spinning. The others worked just fine.  Would love to complete the set.  No one else is complaining about this one??  The other three came in and were installed without incident.

Very stressful times when ill, in pain or fearful will be calmed by these beautiful images and music. The guiding voice can be heard or silenced. The music is present and never intrusive. The images flow and encourage peaceful even breathing. Lovely to experience. Thank you to all of the creators of these brief interludes. Healing gifts for those loved ones needing moments of relief and calm.

As one who has been tortured in hospitals with their notions of "guided imagery" or just new-age wandering "music" accompanying a paucity of barely mediocre photos that continually loop to the point of nausea, I am encouraged by the efforts of MN's Center for Spirituality and Craig Blacklock in bringing an App like this to fruition. Nothing I've seen comes close to the beauty and usefulness of this. My only hope is that there will be more and longer videos available thru in-app purchases in the near future. Good Job!

I'm not a fan of guided imagery CDs, but I think that's mainly because "the voice" and music are usually too new agey or smaltzy. But my mind easily wanders when I'm trying to relax. This app is a fantastic answer to what I've not liked about CDs. This "voice" is perfectly guiding, without being obtrusive and I LOVE that after I will have listened to the voice a few times (reminding me to breathe deeply...in and out), I'll be able to turn it off and just listen to the wonderfully paired piano music and sounds of nature. But it's the beautiful HD video that sets this apart from anything I've experienced before. (I've seen similar stuff on TVs in hospitals, but it's only been generic, still photos I think.) As I said, my mind wanders. The lovely scenery in the video keeps me focused for my personal break from a crazy day. I've already used it in the waiting room while my daughter had a dentist check up. Imagine how much lower my blood pressure will be at my next physical when I've been able to use my new Wellscapes app while waiting and waiting for the doctor to come in?

With high speed internet at work, all 5 videos installed in 5 minutes — total. I thought that was fast! I assume it would have taken longer on my basic "high" speed satellite connection at home. Either way, these videos are worth the wait. The Wellscapes app is a perfect package of guiding voice, pleasant music that won't be annoying when listened to the 20th time, and artistic video that spirits me away from whatever chair I might be stuck in.

While I agree that the download is a bit slow, the high quality and very calming nature videos are well worth the wait!  I particularly appreciate the ability to turn off the guiding to just enjoy the music and natural sounds.  Thanks!
