## What is Wendmark?

Wendmark is a personal journal of places. Drop a pin on every meaningful
spot — restaurants, travel, stadiums, friends' couches, anywhere worth
marking — and revisit them as a 3D-globe stippled minimal map, a
chronological list, or a stats dashboard.

Wendmark 3.0 is our performance release — the whole app is faster, plus new clarity around your privacy.

Faster everywhere

Snappier launch — you're looking at your places sooner.
A map that stays smooth even with hundreds of pins, and stops burning battery on animations you can't see.
Photos import in a snap — adding one or a whole batch no longer freezes the screen.
Saves feel instant: the sheet closes right away while the bookkeeping happens quietly in the background.
Heavy work now runs off the main thread, so lists, stats, and search stay responsive on big libraries.
Widgets and Apple Watch keep up with edits from any device.
Clearer and more transparent

A short, plain-language Terms of Use now appears once when you first open this update — and you can read it again any time from Settings.
We spelled out exactly how Wendmark uses your location, including background use, to notice when you spend time somewhere new and to nudge you near a wishlist spot.
As always, your library stays in your private iCloud and the AI runs entirely on your device.

The biggest Wendmark yet — and it's faster and more private, too.

• Places that find themselves — turn on auto-suggest and Wendmark quietly notices new spots you visit (and ones hiding in your photos), ready to save in a tap.
• Ask Wendmark — ask your library anything ("where did I go with Sarah?", "how many countries have I visited?") and get a real answer, on-device.
• Your wishlist finds you — get a gentle nudge when you're near a place you wanted to visit.
• Your Year, Wrapped — an animated recap of your year in places, a journey timeline, and a spinning globe of everywhere you've been.
• Add from your Lock Screen, Control Center, or Action Button — plus a live Trip mode in the Dynamic Island.
• Quicker and smoother galleries and imports, with widgets and Apple Watch that stay in sync across your devices.
• Private by design — your places stay in your private iCloud, the AI runs entirely on your device, and everything saved to disk is encrypted.

Everything AI runs on Apple Intelligence, right on your iPhone or Mac.

### 2.7 — 2026-06-25

Wendmark, everywhere you are. Add a place without even opening the app — drop the new Wendmark control on your Lock Screen, in Control Center, or on your Action Button. And when you head out, start an outing and watch a Live Activity track the places you save right from your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Still private, still all on your device.

Faster to log, easier to explore.

• Swipe right on any place to log a return visit in one tap — no digging.
• Tap a city, cuisine, or category on the Stats tab to jump straight to those places.
• Apple Watch quick-adds now name themselves and send a tap-to-finish reminder, so no more piles of "Place from Watch."
• On-device smart search now works on the map, not just your list.
• Tap a clustered map pin to see exactly which places are stacked there.

Plus a smoother first run and a few quality fixes.

### 2.4 — 2026-06-17

Organize everything.
Wendmark 2.4 is all about making sense of your places. Group them into Trips — each with its own map, color, and a little recap. Create your own categories with custom icons and colors, add tags, and star your favorites so they're never more than a tap away. New Nearby view sorts your places by how close they are right now, a density heatmap shows where you spend your time, and a Passport counts every country you've collected. Log repeat visits without duplicates, turn a wishlist spot into "visited" with one swipe, and export your whole library as CSV or GPX. As always: 100% on-device, nothing leaves your phone.
