However, most of the notifications I receive should not be considered “breaking news”…such as the temperature outside or news from yesterday. Please limit breaking news notifications to important things that are just coming into the news room and the public may want to know about right away. All the other stuff should be “trending news”. ### 1/5 — Political advertising *2024-07-15, version 131.0.15* Very intense one-sided conspiracy theory based political advertising! One recent “breaking news” notification was just a link to political ads …. No news content whatsoever. Deleting the app now. No journalistic value. ### 1/5 — update is terrible *2024-06-07, version 131.0.15* The interface is horrible to navigate on ios and apple tv. The previous newscast is never updated. I don’t want to watch some generic new channel. How do you update an App and make it worse? ### 2/5 — Really needs work *2024-06-04* For a cord-cutter like me, the app is fine in and of itself. However, you get maybe a minute of news and then repetitious commercials on loop for a several minutes (on multiple occasions the same commercials ran on loop 7 times over before any kind of news came back up) making it not worth it trying to use this for getting anything worthwhile as far as news coverage. Then, there’s the freezing when it would go to commercial break. The only way out of it is to back out and go back into the newscast. Quite honestly if it weren’t for Amanda Callahan, I’d have deleted this from my phone and AppleTV. ### 2/5 — WTH happened??… *2024-05-14, version 131.0.15* Getting an alert about a missing person, and opening it to then be forced to watch an ad for a GAME APP?? Wtf… Be better than this. Also stop with the alerts for Football games happening later, and tv shows airing tonight — that’s not urgent. You get a headline notification and click on it and when the app opens you can't find the associated story. I wish Western Mass News would hire someone with more than an eighth grade education to run this app and their news room. ### 3/5 — Critter corner *2024-04-06* Trying to find Critter Corner for 4/5/24 and all it brought me to was submitting pictures. I couldn’t get to the news until 11:10 and surprise Friday Night Frenzy was already on. I don’t have young children anymore so I changed the channel because I know I missed Critter Corner. The story is just not there. Ever. I’ll search thru the whole app and… nothing. ### 1/5 — Election Results *2022-11-09, version 130.4.10* It’s been fifteen hours since the polls closed and I still don’t see any local election results. So much for downloading your app for up to date news coverage. My Wife's and Daughters all do the same we have tried reinstalling but no luck. This new one has too many ads, pop ups and I can’t find a 7 or 10 day forecast anywhere! I can’t get rid of the notifications pop up on the app even though I deleted the app and then redownloaded and took off receiving notifications. Following on social media brings articles from everywhere BUT Western Mass. Such a left sided article ### 1/5 — Most of your Stories have almost Zero Content *2024-10-24* You do not report News. You maybe do 2-3 short paragraphs that report very little but no real information. I have yet to read a compelling, interesting and researched story ever. Two (2) small paragraphs and that’s the extent of your story. Every weather report is short, minimal information and choppy overall. I’m so happy I found this app because I can watch the weather every 2-3 days and be prepared for what’s coming. Every weather report is clear and very detailed, which ai absolutely love!
