Get your act together Westjet! Your phone will go to sleep before the booking will finish. There seems to be no way to actually add or use seat selection vouchers without calling the help number. And there are so many add ons and useless upsell options that it is hard to find all the essential info. It will quite often push the actual confirm button partially off the screen. WestJet needs to put more focus in the plane and in the app on the customer and less on the upsell. ### 2/5 — Can’t sign in, no code sent to email *2026-07-21, version 8.6.0* This app is fine when it works I guess but for a week now I can’t sign into my WestJet account on my new phone. It asks when signing in to type in a code sent to my email, but the code never arrives. Today is 21 Jul 2026 and this has been happening to me since 14 Jul 2026. I hope WestJet can fix this so I can sign into my account to collect points. ### 2/5 — Meh *2026-07-04, version 8.6.0* Flight map doesn’t always work. Went an entire flight with it saying I was on the ground… ### 2/5 — Deceiving *2026-07-04, version 8.6.0* Be careful using this app when checking in for a flight because it will suggest paying for things that you have already bought or have for free. For example, I have the WestJet rewards card, but it asks me to pay for my first check bag when checking in. It also prompts me to buy a seat even when I have already paid for an upgraded one. They can’t switch it to another direct flight. However when I use the exact same credentials in the app, it says they are invalid! Terrible, terrible experience! At minimum basic functionality should work! Or the app should clearly inform the users when there is a known issue instead of repeatedly reporting valid credentials as invalid! ### 2/5 — Can’t book using App *2026-05-24, version 8.5.1* I continually run into an issue where I can book a flight when trying to use a companion voucher. I have to call the get dinged for $25. WestJet has no answers. ### 2/5 — Where’s the old flight map? *2026-05-22, version 8.5.1* I always get a window seat so I can admire our amazing earth while learning the names of interesting features we’re flying over. Previous map with the flight path from different windows/cockpit was really interesting. Current map has almost no info. What’s the point? I’ll just use Google maps instead. Also, it would be a big time-saver to be able to order inflight food/snacks/booze through the app instead of having to try to make yourself heard over engine noise. It’s just too much of a hassle to bother with. ### 1/5 — Really *2026-05-21, version 8.5.1* Took 20 minutes to download your app. Not impressed. ### 1/5 — Left me stranded *2026-05-21, version 8.5.1* This review isn’t going to be about the app but more on the company itself, Was taking a flight from jfk to to yyc and everyone boarded the plane, we waited 2 hours on the run way just for them to tell us we had to board due to a light little rain shower, then once we all got off was told the plane would be departing in 2 hours. But that never happened, and we were all told me and all the people that were on my flight to bad so sad and WestJet didn’t even have the courtesy to give any help, we were EVEN REFUSED A REFUND, we were told that we would get a email for rebooking the flight which the email was actually never sent out, worst customer service and worst airline to ever be made, boy city this terrible company and stop using them. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Trash scan *2026-08-18, version 8.7.1* Trash ### 1/5 — If have 0 Stars would still give -5 *2026-08-14, version 8.7.1* I have stopped considering this carrier years ago following their news for travel policies encouraging me to not even remember their name Unfortunately just realized that Sunwing uses them for flights which I regret booking with them Application failed to check me in because they need a picture copy of the passport. Had to continue on computer but failed first time. Third time was successful but obviously since they are so cheap carrier was not able to find seats adjacent to each others for self and wife. Don’t listen to the one and two star reviews. The app works great and it’s easy to book flights. The only bug I would say there is is that there’s a problem when I click the “Get Flights” button. It brings me to the r loading screen and just freezes. But on a scale of one to ten for how often that happens it’s like a 4. And it doesn’t happen in my laptop. Rewards members get free wi-fi and it’s fast enough to stream Netflix. I just nerded out and stared at the map screens the whole time as it’s quite entertaining along with the flight info screens. It’s also nice to stream podcasts and text with my kids on the ground to kill some time while flying. Wife also downloaded it at the airport and had the same experience.
