However in the past two months I haven’t been able to book a WESTlink of which arrives to my destination on time, now I understand this may be due to traffic etc. but there has been more than enough times of which I have had my WESTlink cancelled without a reason and without enough time to book other transport, has made me wait an extra thirty minutes at the bus stop without reasoning or a message to tell me that it is running extremely late. It also seems impossible to be able to book a WESTlink anymore, there have been a serious amount of times of which I have had to be late to work, meetings, being stranded somewhere with no way home or having to spend £30 on an uber. This service is starting to really frustrate me and I have had enough. I shan’t be using this service anymore unless it changes drastically for the better for the public. ### 1/5 — concessionary Card/Cash *2024-10-04, version 4.17.4* So bad service nowadays in BRISTOL the rider doesn’t have the card machine. And the drivers are telling us to carry cash. But if you are telling “ concessionary Card/Cash “ than why are you always expecting the cash?? if you dont have the card machine you should remove card from the payment method. ### 2/5 — good idea but loads of problems *2024-07-19, version 4.16.2* in the morning i check my app and it says nothing about my bus that i have booked when i booked it for 7:50. At 7:30 it says “your bus will be here in 5 mins” and i have to run to the bus stop. then when i get to the bus stop, it says “your bus will be here in 7 mins” and stays at the exact same location it was 15 mins ago. It then stays at the same place for 10 mins. When i book my bus for 3.20 it either • SCENARIO 1 it cancels!! it says “your driver could not find you at the pick up spot “ BUT THE BUS SHOULD KNOW ITS A SCHOOL AND SCHOOLS FINISH AT 3:20 • SCENARIO 2 i wait for 20 mins for the bus ( i don’t mind this) but then when i get on the bus it takes the longest route ever for no point and it takes me 1 20 mins to get home when it should take me 20 MINS!!! ### 1/5 — Somehow got worse *2024-04-16, version 4.11.12* I have no idea how but this service just got progressively worse, first off my stop is out of the service zone now my entire hometown is out of the service zone, bloody joke ### 1/5 — Used to be better now they’ve changed the zones *2024-04-08, version 4.11.12* Cant get work now you’ve changed the zones ridiculous and needs to be sorted ### 2/5 — Arrived way too late *2024-02-21, version 4.11.12* I booked a bus to come at 7:55 and it shows up at 9am? The service is terrible it said *2 minutes away* so I waited outside for it to come in the rain and I was outside for 15 minutes!! Then I checked to see where it was and it was 18 minutes away. It also sometimes arrives at the wrong bus stop so I have to end up walking for ages but by the time I’ve reached the bus stop they have driven off. ### 1/5 — Unusable *2024-01-10, version 4.11.12* This app is unusable. It is impossible to make any selections or navigate. It is hard to understand why this app has been offered to the public, especially as it is potentially a valuable service. ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2023-11-28, version 4.11.12* It’s ok if you want a leisurely drive around town but if you need to get somewhere on time it’s useless ### 3/5 — Fiddly *2023-10-12, version 4.11.12* The app is fiddly to use. I’ve never yet succeeded in being able to schedule a journey for later in the day, only “immediately”: I click on the Schedule option and it never lets me change the time. It would also help if it understood “relief” (as in hills): it’s pointless to suggest I get picked up at a bus stop 1/2 a mile away at the top of a steep hill - if I wanted to do that I’d just go and get the service bus. I have to tell it I’m somewhere else to force it to pick me up in the village at the bottom of the hill. ### 1/5 — Useless! *2023-10-03, version 4.11.12* We live in Failand, a small village in North Somerset - very poorly served by buses! Westlink should have been the answer to our problems but, no!! It serves the nearby villages which already have bus services but won’t pick up or drop off anywhere near us! My elderly neighbour is virtually marooned at home since poor eyesight stopped her driving. She thought Westlink would be the answer but it is no use at all! ### 2/5 — Freshford non service . *2023-07-25, version 4.6* I have tried 3 times now each time I’ve been told that the service is unavailable . Our village service a well run one is under threat . ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Very useless service *2026-06-11, version 4.27.1* A very disorganised company that lacks structure and understanding of what “Time” is. ### 1/5 — Inconsistent *2026-03-25, version 4.26.10* West link used to be good but now it is so inconsistent with the bookings I booked the bus 2 days in advance and it cancelled so i booked again a day in advance and that ended up cancelling aswell so i had to book it again as it was my only option to get home and the driver was not moving even though the time until pick up was slowly going down it’s just not good enough. ### 1/5 — Not an alternative to buses *2026-02-18, version 4.26.3* Wanted to use it as an alternative for when the main buses are acting up and I’m waiting around for an hour or more but it just tells me to use the normal bus route ### 1/5 — Worst bus service *2025-11-14, version 4.22.2* Drivers constantly cancelling on you, or lying about you not being there ect honestly use uber at least they’ll turn up and not leave you out in the rain ### 1/5 — Poor service *2025-10-24, version 4.22.2* WESTlink service in Bristol has been unreliable and terrible lately. Buses don’t arrive on time and drop-off times are abysmal too ### 1/5 — No idea of what to do *2025-08-08, version 4.22.2* Tried really hard to use this service but only works if you are computer savvy with a smart phone. I wanted to go to the park and ride in Bath but was told they didn’t go there. I knew they did so after saying I would contact South Glos they agreed they did the journey but didn’t have any buses. After which I took the car!!! The one star is because they did answer the phone. ### 1/5 — Worst bus service ever *2025-03-14, version 4.17.106* No matter how much I try book a ride it always says they have none available, even though I see multiple driving past me as I try to book. This is constant absolute worst bus service out there you cannot rely on them for any time keeping at all they are always late or cancel your ride. So bad if I were you I would just get an uber at least they will turn up ### 1/5 — Just get an uber instead *2024-10-17, version 4.17.4* Terrible app 9/10 times cant book it just now tried to book and the app is having ‘technical issues’. I’ve had my bus ‘cancelled by me’ when Im asleep and obviously haven’t and called up to successfully make a booking only for it to never turn up. Don't get me started on the customer service when you call wondering why the booking has suddenly disappeared. Disgraceful areas are left without proper public transport like this especially for the disabled and elderly, should be illegal. ### 1/5 — Worst bus service ever *2024-10-12, version 4.17.4* It’s actually a joke how we are left to depend on getting to work with such a lousy bus service, it doesn’t matter if you book at a certain time because they will just cancel it if the driver can’t be bothered to do the drop. Absolute joke never any when you need one and if you get one be prepared to wait ages before the driver even thinks about your stop. Had a booking for 5pm walked all the way there and got cancelled by the driver even though I was there 20mins early, but still ended up having to walk 7 miles in the rain to get home, all the while 2 WESTlink buses past me, Absolute joke. Lazy drivers lazy system. It’s both cost-effective and convenient! You just need to get familiar with how it works. The app is well designed and clear, giving regular live updates as the ride arrives. It would be great if I could pay with Apple Pay, but adding a card was easy and not too much hassle. ### 5/5 — Just £2 for an 11 mile trip to the airport! *2023-08-10, version 4.6* Have used on two occasions to travel to the airport and both drivers were friendly, arrived on time and the buses themselves were very clean and spacious. I can see a lot of bad reviews concerning on demand rides, so I should say that both times I’ve used the service it’s been scheduled rides booked the day before and the experience has been extremely pleasant. ### 5/5 — Very nice *2023-04-29, version 4.6* Went to Weston from axbridge and had a very friendly driver. Very clean and didn’t have much problem with booking. Just had to leave 20 mins earlier then planned which was absolutely fine. Today a friend had a scheduled journey and I tried to join them last minute but when I searched the exact route they had taken the app claimed that ‘no seats available’. Lies! The bus had 10 spare seats - good thing that I chanced it and discovered an ATM on the bus! But how am I expected to find these chance busses if the app conceals them from me.
