Disappointing. ### 3/5 — Accurate tracker, Could be better *2025-06-02, version 4.0.0* The app itself is quite useful when you want to see your monthly spendings, it shows you in different diagrams, some important others are not necessarily relevant, my only concern with this app is that it dosent show you your previous monthly spendings for comparison, which makes budgeting and financial reports quite limiting. ### 2/5 — Good concept needs better functionality *2025-04-25, version 4.0.0* Way to basic. Needs to have option to add categories or at least include some commons ones like insurance (life etc), and childcare. Account transfers should be automated and not automatically tagged to cash. ### 2/5 — Concept is good, execution poor *2025-03-01, version 4.0.0* This app is not set up to support your customers. You could support your customers much better by including an income gas gauge that is embedded on the spending gas gauge so users can, at a glance see if their overspending. Giving the user the ability to set the month to their own schedule will also help people keep track. Credit card bills for example run to the 20th, as do so many others, why does this app not have the ability to do the same? This app is set up for the bank to keep people confused about their finances rather than in control. Shame on you Westpac! You should do better, with the profits you make off our backs! ### 2/5 — Was good, latest update has ruined it! *2024-11-06, version 4.0.0* This app used to be a great way to track spending in different categories, but the recent update means it’s now just frustrating! Very laggy when going in to change categories, which you inevitably have to spend lots of time doing as the ‘remember change for future transactions’ function seems to do nothing. Please restore the old version! ### 1/5 — No longer receiving notifications *2024-09-07, version 4.0.0* I downloaded this app solely for the purpose of receiving notifications when money goes out of my accounts. It’s important to me after having money stolen by hackers in the past. Initially the app worked great, sending me notifications with every spend. Then they started to become very delayed and lately they are non-existent. I’ll give it another few weeks to see if they come back otherwise will delete the app. I can’t see any way to report an issue via the CashNav app. The ‘support’ feature just takes you to Westpac’s sign up page to sign up for cash nav. ### 1/5 — Old version great new is …… *2024-09-04, version 4.0.0* This is an example of a company removing functionality and usefulness. The old one was simple and accurate. The new version is hard to understand and seems to count transactions twice so the numbers are out. Westpac please revert to the old version until you sort this version out. ### 1/5 — Worst upgrade I might have ever seen *2024-09-02, version 4.0.0* To begin with the app had some trouble. It was clunky and it was hard to navigate through it. But it was usable and genuinely helpful. The concept is great. But with this new update they have made it even worse. What users wanted this? We wanted a cleaner more usable interface and you’ve stripped half the visual cues graphs from the app. What’s left is a baron white page wasteland. It feels empty I’m done hoping for a better app. ### 1/5 — Was ok, now worse *2024-08-30, version 4.0.0* It was a fine spending tracker, nothing special but worked. With the new update all you did was take away the features I actually used. Why can you no longer see past months? Please revert this update and fire the architect or upper management that had these ideas. We don’t care how it looks as long as it works, and with this update, it doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — Upgrade *2024-08-17, version 4.0.0* There is a bug in this new upgrade that on the ‘Home’ Screen it doubles the transaction value. This is very disconcerting because it looks like you have spent more than you have. ### 1/5 — When it works it is quite good *2024-04-26, version 3.5.4* When it works and you can log in it is helpful. Often, however, there are problems logging in. Come on Westpac! ### 1/5 — Good app but unpleasant process *2024-02-29, version 3.5.4* App offers good insight but every-time have to go through a painful process of skipping app tour, which then take you to app store to open the already downloaded app. After that, it will ask you to log in to your account and then provide insight. It only started to happen after the recent update which was 3-4 months ago and they have not fixed it yet. ### 1/5 — Annoying *2024-02-22, version 3.5.4* Seriously, please fix this app! We know you have the money to invest in it Westpac. Surely your customer experience is somewhat of a priority? Every time I access the app, it takes me through the same process to authorize through the banking app, accept T&C’s, to the App Store and finally back to the app for a tour. It is extremely frustrating! I can see in the reviews has been a problem for over 5 years so why has it still not been fixed. Come on! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Limited categories! *2026-07-12, version 4.1.3* Would love it if could add own categories! ### 1/5 — Doesn’t quite do the job *2025-08-27, version 4.0.0* A number of ongoing lack of improvements to the app. The display in a pie graph is less useful than a line graph default would be. Transaction accounts tracked are not easily changed and in fact I still don’t know how to change them. Online support includes only basic solutions such as have you updated your app and phone IOs. There is nowhere to escalate questions or even suggested improvements. With small efforts from westpac this could actually be a useful tool. I will now look for an alternative. ### 1/5 — Formerly useful - massive downgrade in functionality *2025-06-01, version 4.0.0* I used to sporadically use CashNav as it was quite good for looking at last months spending. The app appeared to have been massively downgraded and now provides no access to past months’ info. I have missing spend transactions unaccounted for. Definitely also does not show how much money is deposited either. ### 1/5 — So frustrating *2024-12-02, version 4.0.0* App is so laggy and frustrating to use I have given up. Somehow so much worse than the previous version of the app which was definitely not good either. I don’t understand how this passed any internal testing, I would rather they switch back to the old version while they undertake some proper testing ### 1/5 — Latest update is terrible *2024-11-29, version 4.0.0* Latest update have deteriorated the product and added layers to click through to access the information you need, previously it was just there. This update is a step backwards. Very buggy now. Disappointing changes ### 1/5 — Stay with westpac one *2024-11-13, version 4.0.0* First, it categorises your spending but inaccurately. You can try to manually categorise but it’s buggy/inconsistent. Frustrating that it hides spending in the needs section by default. Graphs compare to average instead of showing only real values. Misleading app ### 1/5 — Worse Than Useless? *2024-11-02, version 4.0.0* 0/10. Do Not Recommend. Remember, now, why I deleted this app when it first came out years ago. Regret giving it a second chance. There’s no means to retroactively assign categories to repeating transactions. I’ve gone back over 6 months’ of historical rent transactions and categorised them all as “Home”… Every. Single. Week. I get a notification saying that my “Home” spend is way above average. No. Westpac. That’s my rent. The same value goes out on the same day, at the same time, Every. Single. Week. Never got anywhere raising support tickets, either. I’m out. I’d rather pay for something that actually works and save myself the frustration. Recommend you do the same. ### 1/5 — Not as fast as the old one *2024-10-01, version 4.0.0* The old version seems to sync everything quickly. This new version seems to miss to notify spending way slower than usual. Excellent budgeting tool. Great to get a high level overview of spend on all expenses, spends and payments makes simple to tweak budget. I find it great as a security check because I get notified whenever any monetary transactions occur against my credit or EFTpos accounts, and when my spending goes over the norm. I would know if any unauthorised debits were made and could check it out within a short period of time. It breaks down shopping, utilities, cash and much more. It also compares against last month and the day before. Would be better if it was possible to put in your own dates - to budget to each payday rather than each month. I ended up changing our budget plan to monthly to make the app more usable. PLEASE FIX BUG: The last day of the month gets missed from the total spend calculation in each category.
