This is the third time its happened and im sick of ringing up and asking them to reset my password. Has a few glitches like when I try to view details of a Term Deposit I get an error message saying I can’t open a new TD. The first one is when you go to search for a transaction amount instead of getting figures you get a selection of grey lined boxes. Contacted support about three months ago about this still not fixed l. Second thing when I went to file a suggestion to fix this, the Send function broke with a generic error message. You open up an account and I can't see anything half the time, the rest of the time it takes about a minute to refresh and show me transactions. Quite frustrating when you're out and you want to do something quickly. For example I might want to transfer money between accounts and it freezes. The other thing I've noticed is that when I've gone to pay for things like my spark Bill or my New Zealand tickets, through Internet banking option (because I want to avoid credit card fees Fees), it doesn't work for some reason I need to use the credit card. ### 1/5 — So slow to load *2025-12-12, version 40.5* It’s slow to load transactions on your mortgage account or credit card annoying when you’re needing to see it quickly. All of my other banking apps have had this for years. Other than that, all the basics are there so it’s a decent app. ### 2/5 — Pages in app not loading, staying white *2025-10-28, version 40.2* Generally the app works fine, easy to use etc. the last few months I’ve struggled to load pages with the app. For example I’ll open the pay/transfer option, and it stays blank. Happens lots now. I’ve try deleting and reinstalling app multiple times, and still no luck. Bit of a pain when I can’t transfer money, or even fix my new mortgage rate ### 3/5 — Finally an update that works *2025-10-23, version 40.2* A banking app that simply doesn’t work is of no use to anyone and it’s been stumbling along for weeks like that. But finally today (24 Oct 2025) an update (40.2) that works. However compared to the convenience and functionality of many other banking apps, Westpac continues to have a report card that says “Could/shoud do better”. How any app developer manages to bypass their own quality controls and (previously) release a version of an app that simply doesn’t work, is beyond me. ### 1/5 — Rubbish update *2025-10-23, version 40.1* Update results in unable to see transactions!! Fix it! ### 1/5 — App stopped working and no resolution *2025-10-22, version 40.1* Have used this app for its lifetime, it has now changed and brings up a blank white screen when you try to do anything beyond seeing the opening page. Have contacted via 0800 but still no change to the fault. (Probably 40.1 version as that was two weeks ago). No idea what they broke but bad enough to leave the bank after 10 years if this continues. I get the circle of doom and try again later. Considering they are a bank with money it seems like this is a basic they would have sorted by now, yet it has been ongoing. It's not my phone, have a newer model, and I update the app in the hopes it will get better. It often shows incorrect balances, does not complete transactions or just doesn’t even allow you to login. The way the errors are handled with just ‘something went wrong’ is awful design and makes for a very painful experience. The app is just so simple and easy to use, whilst also having all of the the info you would ever need. After the last update with the digital card, I thought to myself, "who even asked for this". BUT THATS THE THING, even though the app is perfect at doing what it is supposed to, the dev's go and make it BETTER! Like, I never even thought of having a digital card, but honestly, this is going to save me so time.
