E papaki kau ana te tai o Whangapē ki raro iho i te maunga tapu o Whakakoro - tū tonu, tū tonu Whakakoro te Maunga Moana.

This is a story about the history of Ngāti Haua hapū. The Te Aho Ngaruhū project is part of a project initiated by New Zealand’s Ministry of Education (Māori Medium) to provide New Zealand history in a new and exciting way.

Interactivity has been used to create an immersive experience with an original, image-rich narrative.  Features include: 
-       Narration in te reo Māori synchronised with text 
-       Swipe to Read, Tap to Spell and Read aloud functions. 
-       Subordinate narration and text in English that can be toggled to access 
-       A record yourself function that enables readers to record their own or whānau narration, and overlay it in the app.
-    Engaging video and audio 

Notes for teachers that are accessible inside the App include support on curriculum links, learning activities, vocabulary, a list of further resources available, and references. 
 
The App is designed for iPads and tablets, for use in education settings. Features and audio work also on smartphones, although there are limitations due to screen size. 

Whangapē Ki Uta Ki Tai was developed by New Zealand’s Ministry of Education I Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga  Tā mātou kaupapa –
