Did you expect some Houdini-magic?? And also; Of course this app won't have every dog breed on the planet. It also depends on the lighting and the angle you take your photo. Look, honestly, this is very good for an app that just analyzes your dog's photo and matches it with bing images. I have 2 Siberian Huskys and I did my white puppy who was looking out the window. Know what she got? Dogo Argentino and Eskimo Dog. That's pretty good. And I love how it gives you facts about different dog breeds! Great source of quick-information! I rated it 4 stars because my dog had a fairly thinner face than a Dogo Argentino and she had a visibly curlier tail and pointy ears. Still, Dogo Argentino and Eskimo Dog were very good and close guesses. It recognizes color more imo, to stop the 2.4 stars it could recognize bodily structure and different poses of it, too. ### 4/5 — Wow, Didn’t expect that tbh. *2019-02-24, version 1.2.3* I think that this app is mostly accurate. It took a while for it to get my dogs breed, but that’s because the photos had to be 100% clear. If they are a mixed breed then they are pretty hard to discover, I tried it with a few photos that weren’t actually dogs and it still gave me some results and sometimes it didn’t. I think it’s cool that this app just scans over a picture and notices features that belong to your dog, it also tells the history of your dog but some of the info is wrong. Like the height of some dogs are usually taller or smaller than the average number. it also had some glitching in the start that prevented me From choosing a photo. I recommend taking more than one image of your dog and I think it’ll be accurate. Overall, it’s good and pretty accurate. Thank you and Bye! ### 2/5 — It Told Me My Jack Russell was a Pointer *2018-10-18, version 1.2.3* It’s best to put in a bunch of different pictures of your dog and see which breeds come up the most often to determine breed and things were going well for a bit. I could see what aspects were determining what breed each dog was and it was spot on with the pictures I grabbed of purebreds off the internet. Then it called a JRT a Pointer. And a staffie a Bull Terrier. On multiple occasions. So yeah, not the most accurate but still fun to play with. ### 1/5 — LOUSY!! *2018-07-03, version 1.2.3* Doesn’t work! First I took a picture of my very large, but not overweight, 85 lb full blood Doberman Pincher lying down with head up. It said, “It is not a dog.“ So giving it the benefit of a doubt I tried a picture of my dog’s head next to a headrest in my car, where you can obviously see the size comparison of his head to the headrest. He has his ears cropped in the show cut (which I didn’t do, by the way). It said 60% or so that it was a Miniature Pincher. The rest were other small breed dog options. So I picked a picture where I thought there was no doubt as to the breed. He is a textbook large red Dobie. It still came up with Min Pin. I give up!! Going to delete now. Waste of my time!! ### 2/5 — At 1st awesome, now worthless *2018-01-08, version 1.2.3* I have LOVED using this app, design flaws and all. It's still the most informative and aesthetically pleasing of all it's competitors (I downloaded them all) and now it doesn't work AT ALL. It just loads and loads and loads. I've done everything on my end to fix it, including deleting and re-downloading. Others are reporting the same. Please communicate what is going on and then fix it! I rely on this app to help get homeless dogs adopted. ### 4/5 — Great! *2017-11-19, version 1.2.3* My dogs are all mixed and so none of the readings were accurate.. BUT THAT'S EXPECTED. Sometimes different angles would show different results but of course that will happen, it's pictures being reviewed not full analytical videos with measurements. I did also do one picture of my friend's dog, a boxer, and of course it was accurate! This app is more accurate with non mixed breeds but that should be common knowledge. As for those of us with special mixed puppers, it's still fun to see what the app will guess. I love it! ### 4/5 — Fun! *2017-09-04, version 1.2.3* I put pics of all the dogs I have had as an adult. This app was really accurate and just fun. It couldn't figure out what our little toy/mini poodle mix is...He wighs about 7 pounds, and they said he was a "powerful Black Russian Terrier." That was just funny. He has long legs and looks like a black sheep. But the app did get our cocker spaniel, golden retriever, corgi mix, and havanese mix. ### 2/5 — Has potential? *2017-01-08, version 1.2.2* Let's be honest, it's an awesome idea. Never seemed to be fully worked out though. One in four attempts to get it to work is successful, otherwise it just sits there and you can't access or take pictures. And somehow 4 pictures of the same Rhodesian ridgeback I own all net different answers. She went from miniature pinscher to Rhodesian to basenji and finished off with the app telling me she's not even a dog. Would be awesome and totally worth buying if they put more work into it. Sadly it was deleted, doesn't work enough to keep. ### 1/5 — I would give it 0 stars *2016-12-18, version 1.2.1* This app plain and simple does not work. Bought it on my iPhone 6 and it wouldn't access my camera or open at all. Switched it over to my iphone7 plus, and still doesn't work. All I can access is the list of dog breeds. That's not why I bought it. I wanted to be able to take a photo and let the app tell me what breed it was. I wish I never got this app. I wish that the developers would update it and help those of us who are very disappointed in this. ### 1/5 — UPDATE OR REMOVE FROM STORE 😁😞😡 *2016-10-09, version 1.2.1* I don't usually take the time to give low ratings but these garage apps are useless to consumers if you don't update them. They are never going to even have the opportunity to become the next best app without updates. Plus I find it disappointing, frustrating and annoying that you would take up my time to research an app only to find out the last update was before IOS 10 or even years ago. I'm of the opinion you keep up the hard work and if you decide it is time to throw in the towel take it off the shelf. You don't leave it in the store and allow others to oogle at your mistakes. Thank you for letting me vent or rant. I'm truly disappointed 😞 this wasn't given more of your time. ### 4/5 — At least give them credit *2016-08-06, version 1.2.1* Everyone is scoring this app so low, yet there's nothing that's ever been like it. I realize, even myself, it's not 100% accurate. But dang, think about it, this app is identifying the breed of your dog. That's like secret-agent-searching-a-database-full-of-people stuff. Plus, if it gives you different answers often..then go with the average one it picks majority of the time. I have like a miniature Black Lab that's mute. It was always interesting to find out what breed my dog was and other breeds it looked similar to. It is sad to see it go, but I hope they bring it back someday. The app has been consistent enough that I decided not to get a DNA test. I found this app and tried it out and it gave me one main option as well as several others on what they could be which was great! A lot of people are complaining though. Of course the app needs to be updated, the interface is a bit dated. But the idea that the app isn't 100% accurate it ridiculous. OF COURSE IT WON'T BE 100% CORRECT, YOU'RE ONLY SENDING IN A PICTURE NOT A DNA SAMPLE! This is the best free app there is no question it gives you all the information you need. [See my update below.] I tried to take a picture with it, to even import a photo, but no response except for a sound effect of pushing the button. I checked out the "what-dog" website that the app is based on, and that works just great. Please update this app. *** My update: The app works great on my iOS 9 iPad 3. I guess it just either needs an update for iOS 10, or my iPhone 5 is just having a rough time with it. I'm glad I could see it working on my iPad. Thanks for the great app, Microsoft! ### 5/5 — Not always accurate, but who cares? *2016-09-11, version 1.2.1* I downloaded this app knowing that it wouldn't always be accurate, but I was still pleasantly surprised. Yes, it doesn't always correctly identify my chocolate lab, but it does usually at least list it in the top three options or so. But it still does really well for a mobile app, and you have to give Microsoft credit for how much they were able to accomplish. Add in things like its ability to do things like identify humans as dog breeds and other fun stuff, and I'd say this app is worth any dog lover's while. ### 5/5 — I recommend to all!!!! *2016-06-09, version 1.2.1* This is a really fun app plus It's fun to use a picture of yourself and see what dog you are! BUT sometimes it doesn't work with pictures of dogs. Sometimes it will tell you the wrong breed instead of the Breed your dog actually is. The app correctly named our Labrador, a little more issue placing the more anatomically correct stuffed animals.
