Great app! ### 5/5 — What the Walrus Knows *2013-08-25* I use this app all the time. Sometimes when I'm just a little frustrated or overwhelmed, I'll "divine" a beastie to offer me a little cheerleading and get me motivated again. All the messages are positive and inspiring - it's like fortune cookies from the animals! It's fun to divine a beastie for the year, the month, the week - then choose the advice that most speaks to you. I love it as a way to access my own intuition, and I adore the sounds and the general beauty of this app! (You can turn off the sound if you prefer in the new version.) I also love the journal feature - if I see or divine a beastie that has a message that connects me with my intuition, I'll often write a little note to remind myself how to "live" that advice in the now. It's fun to be able to go back and see all this inspiration. It's also fun at parties - divine beasties for everyone in the group! Mostly, it's a positive, beautiful app that I return to over and over - I'm often surprised and never disappointed! ### 5/5 — Love this app. *2013-06-12* If you have always wanted to understand the connection to life, but are unsure of complicated processes. This app will delight and allow a connection with a power animal. This is light hearted...yet still as meaningful as traditional teachings. I know I've been doing them for thirty+ years. It is also a wonderful companion to Sarah's delightful book, "What the Walrus Knows." So many things to love about this app! It is simple to use and the beastie art and sounds are fabulous. The animal field guide has even more beasties than the book and is at your fingertips when you have a sighting. The divining feature seems to work with your subconscious to bring you into the present and helps to find direction and clarity. The cool journal function lets you record notes with your divination and email the entry. I have only been using the app for a few days, but already notice myself being more aware of the animal world around me and more in the moment as I ponder the meaning of each beastie message. I get excited each morning wondering how the first beastie of the day will appear and what I will discover. I couldn’t find many animals I would have expected to find, eg wren, magpie. Is this an American app? And other animals present had pretty lame divination. Much as I love animals and their mystical significance and familiarity, I wanted to silence the Jumanji sounds pretty quickly. But you can’t. This really wasn’t what I was looking for. I will be looking for a refund. ### 1/5 — Disappointed. *2012-10-06* I was looking for another animal totem app with the ability to divine or had card of the day feature, this app has this but it doesn't work. Fix coming? No common domestic animals, which is needed for your life animal. My house is full of cat things, I'm drawn to them but no cat totem. For $5.49 this app has lots of tacky noises with spinning blurred picture but sadly not much substance. I am sad to say I regret buying this app because even with the problem fixed it just has a children's animated app feel to it. Deleted. ### 3/5 — Not enough animals *2022-01-03* The app seems lovely, but the big problem is that there are not enough animals in the catalog to make this a trusted go-to. The very first two animals I went to look up did not exist in the app. (One was real, one was mythical: fisher and griffin. The mythical section only has 10 creatures!) I strongly suggest the developer add lots of new creatures. I also don’t love the name but that’s just my personal opinion. The design is lovely and I love the quotes that pop up. ### 3/5 — Quieter Beasties? *2013-04-12* Love the app with the exception of the sounds! It limits when/ where I can open the app for info. Yesterday I saw a mink on the road and wanted to look it up. I didn’t see any of that family - minks, ferrets, and weasels. The app feels like I have a sweet little thread to her and her magic. The guidance is always spot on and I love the extra details I wouldn’t have thought of. I use it daily. ### 5/5 — Fantastic App *2014-03-20* This Guide to Beastie Energies is my favorite app. I use it when I spot a beastie when I'm out on a walk (which happens surprisingly often, since I live in a huge city) to see if there is a message that resonates with me. My favorite, though, is the 'divine' feature, which will allow you to ask a question and get a beastie message - it is so much fun! I always find that the message has something I can apply to the question! And to top it off, there's this awesome journal feature that lets you write notes or record your question. This whole app is so much fun!
