## What is Whatool?

Whatool turns an exported chat into something you can read and search, on your own device.

In WhatsApp choose Export chat, then pick Whatool from the share sheet — it sits among the actions, in the bottom row. The .txt file and the .zip WhatsApp produces today are both read, and a chat file already on your device opens just as well.

The whole history then becomes searchable: by word, by sender, by date. Jump to the day you are looking for instead of thumbing through years of messages.

MERGE puts several conversations into one timeline, so a story told across three chats reads as one.

Everything happens on your iPhone or iPad. Your messages are read and stored on the device, nothing is sent to a server, and Whatool works with no connection at all.

Whatool also keeps what a messaging app does not. A phone you no longer own, a chat you cleared, someone you have lost: an export opened in Whatool stays readable years later.

LINE exports are read too.

Free, with optional purchases to remove the ads and lift the free limits.

I can't speak to any other functions, but I was amazed by the search function. I needed to find one specific message in a WhatsApp conversation from 3 months ago. I figured it would take ages for the ap to import the convo and then search through the 7000+ messages, but it took seconds!! Very impressed.

Don't waste your money. This app doesn't work. I used it to save viber messages and it only saved/transferred the messages for only one day. It says that the app it's free but as soon as you try to transfer the data they ask you to pay .99 because you exceed the data transfer. I paid and like I said it only transferred messages for only one day and I wanted to save messages from Viber for a month. Useless app.

Have you ever tried to find a particular conversation within a chat you have been having with someone over two years.... It's difficult, Viber especially has a very unhelpful search tool built in, most of the time it feels like it just chooses a random conversation and offers it as a consolation prize for your efforts. Whatool gives you a powerful search tool that lets you import your conversations and gives you control over masses of information . Search using a choice of different variables including dates and text . Only drawback is the data exported from viber doesn't include if a call was made or not. Hmmmm defiantly a thought for the next version ... Anyway great tool download it . 
Ps great for couples needing to resolve what was said when and why lol....

A pretty interface with no features. I couldn't find a way to do anything except purchase something or delete the test convo (which they apparently forgot to delete themselves). Clicking on either help button immediately crashes the app every time.
