## What is What's For Dinner?

What's For Dinner turns "I don't know, what do you want?" into an actual answer.

I built this because my own kitchen was stuck in the same nightly loop — standing there with no idea what to cook, defaulting to the same five meals on repeat, or giving up and ordering takeout because deciding felt harder than cooking. So I made a small app that just picks for you, from the meals you actually make, the way you'd actually cook them.

Add the dinners you already know how to make, tag them (quick, vegetarian, kid-approved, whatever fits your house), and let the app pick one for tonight. It remembers what you've cooked recently and won't suggest it again until enough time has passed, so you're not eating the same thing three nights running just because the randomizer got lazy.

Free, with no time limit:
• Picks a dinner filtered by how much time you have and which tags matter tonight
• Skips anything you've cooked too recently — you set the window
• Settles it with a vote when nobody can agree — share a 4-letter code and everyone votes from their own phone
• Surprise Me serves up a fresh recipe idea from gowhatsfordinner.com
• Starts you off with sample meals, with photos and links to full recipes
• Puts tonight's pick on your Home Screen, and opens right up when you say "Hey Siri, what's for dinner?"
• Lets you add your own photo to any meal, favorite the ones you love, or tell it to stop suggesting one entirely
• Keeps a running log of what you've actually cooked
• Exports a backup of everything, because it's your list, not mine
• Holds up to 7 meals

What's For Dinner Premium (monthly or yearly, with a 7-day free trial):
• Unlimited meals
• One shared meal list and tonight's pick for your whole household, synced across everyone's phones — one subscription covers everyone you invite
• Paste a recipe link, or share one straight from Safari, and the name, time, and photo fill in automatically
• Plan a whole week at once when you'd rather plan ahead than decide daily

No account, no login, no ads, nothing tracked or sold. Your meals stay on your phone unless you turn on household sharing or start a vote — those are the only times anything you enter leaves your device. Premium is billed through your Apple ID and works with Family Sharing.

This is a one-person project — no team, no investors, just something I built to solve my own kitchen problem and decided to put out into the world. Thank you for giving it a try and trusting a small independent app with your dinner decisions. I'm actively working on new features, and I read every review and piece of feedback that comes in — if something's confusing, missing, or just plain annoying, please let me know. It genuinely shapes what I build next.
