Having the app makes it more convenient but it’s a little buggy. I struggled at first with the magazines getting stuck in ‘queued’ but now I have found if you press download on them and don’t move or touch anything else it eventually kicks in. This has been the same for the last two years. Only way is to pay for the issue despite having a subscription! ### 2/5 — Needs to be interactive. *2023-05-02, version 6.4.1* The layout and everything is very good and user friendly, but you can not highlight individual programs as a reminder. I won’t be taking out the full subscription. ### 1/5 — Dreadful App *2023-04-10, version 6.4.1* This is the worst app I have ever encountered, most weeks it forgets that I have a subscription so I have to restore the purchases…this usually takes 3 or 4 attempts then once it has been restored it takes a further 3 or 4 attempts to get it to download. There is also a problem with the pages of the magazine freezing as you scroll through them. I have a 12 month subscription but I will not be repurchasing as it is far too much hassle. Much quicker just to pop a hard copy in my supermarket trolley when I do my weekly shop. It has become ‘hit and miss’ as to whether I will be able to access this magazine from week to week! It takes AGES (sometimes days) to get it to re-install…. quite frankly I’m sick of the lack of consistency, followed by lack of help. I would rather go to the newsagent and BUY a copy than put up with this any longer!!! ### 1/5 — Annual subscription failed after 4 months of use *2022-10-20, version 6.4* This app repeatedly ‘forgets’ that I have an annual subscription and I have to restore it from within the app. Finally, after 4 months it would not renew. Followed all the advice to re-install app, etc. then called customer services who couldn’t help as they had no record of my postcode in France or my name. My wife has a different subscription for the same magazine and her one failed at the same time. Customer services couldn’t find her name or the English postcode she used to subscribe with. Will have to look for another provider of this, or similar magazine, having lost 8 and 9 months worth of payment, respectively. ### 1/5 — Should be removed from the App Store *2022-10-19, version 6.4* I have a subscription until June 2023 and as of yesterday all my issues now want an additional 99p to read. Attempts to restore have all failed. Apple are refusing to refund even the remaining 8 months of my subscription. Absolutely disgusting. Now with seven months still in subscription it is asking me to pay to download next issue. Had same problem last year. So deleted and reinstalled app. Now it won’t restore purchases. Simply useless - and the evidence of these reviews and the “Help” articles prove that this has been an ongoing problem for years. Like many others I had to keep restoring from settings in order to download my magazine and even then that wouldn’t always work. I decided to stop using the app and purchased via Amazon which was great, all those problems gone. That was until Amazon stopped selling it and I had to resort back to the app. I had hoped that within the time I was away the app would have improved, NO, it hasn’t and it’s just as bad as before. This has gone on for years and when you try to contact anyone with the issues, no one wants to deal with it and passes the buck! I now have a years subscription and I can’t read my magazine when it suits because once again I have to keep restoring it and I’m lucky if it works straight away. The developers of this app are an absolute disgrace and should be addressing this instead of doing nothing!!!! But I renewed for a second year in June time and since then I’ve had problems actually downloading the latest magazines as it keeps on getting stuck on download. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app and lots of other things to try to resolve this but to no luck. I contacted apple as my subscription was with them and they were very very helpful and I could see it was an issue with the app development. I would ring up the magazine/ app company and they just will not help you at all, they just repeat “as your subscription is with apple please contact them”. I got so frustrated in the end apple helped me to get a refund for my year subscription. It’s the magazines loss as they just would not help me in any way so my money has now gone to another online magazine instead. ### 1/5 — Rubbish App *2023-08-29, version 7.1.1* Like other people have said, I subscribed to this for a year and after a month or so it’s now asking me to pay per magazine even though my subscription doesn’t expire until august 2024. When I checked my bank statement 99p had been taken and I still haven’t got the full version.
