I love the app but it is almost unusable because my son double taps triggering the next sound and you sometimes get two sounds at once. I hope it can be fixed soon. ### 3/5 — Good start *2011-03-02, version 1.0* This app has great pictures and sound effects. Sometimes the sounds overrides the speech. I would also like to see the developers label the correct answer along with the praise. I also have had trouble at the end. When the score comes, it seems to freeze up and I have to delete and reinstall to play again. What's that sound? Is great. The pictures are far too small and the sound is so short. There is no way to repeat the sound either. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! ### 1/5 — Sounds App *2011-10-25, version 1.0* I like this app however once completed, it's takes a long time to restart. It seems to stick on the last page. It seems to be faulty and can be very annoying when you're child wants to play again. ### 2/5 — Want to love it, right ideal *2011-11-26, version 1.0* I was so excited when I found this so I downloaded it. I'm using it with a 2 year old with no learning delays but has no concept of listening for directions or questions on a few of his other games so I thought short sounds would help instead of long questions. But this app seemed to make it harder. There is no repeat button if you miss the sound for a short attention span this is a must!!!! When you do get an answer right its kinda boring, its needs to be more exciting so you cant wait to get the next question right to see what happens next. If my child goes crazy and just pushes all the pics the sounds do not match sometimes for 3 screens that totally defeats the purpose. If we do manage to get to the last questions it's frozen and we can move on but when you tap play again the next game it working in the background not cool! Like some other reviewers said fix it I would also pay $2.99 if it works correct. ### 2/5 — Good bones *2011-06-01, version 1.0* Background...we have 5-year old autistic boy we are using iPad and free/cheap apps with more success than any other therapy. This is a good app but a few changes could make this a great app. First, the voice volume is too low. Second, the affirmation for right answer should vary with more graphics. Finally, there needs to be a way to jump to a menu and change options...choose how many items and number of questions - the simpler the menu the better. Please make the changes, offer a lite version for free, and a full for $2.99. We'll pay Thank you for this app! Thank god for iPad and autism/learning apps ### 2/5 — Cool idea, needs work *2011-02-12, version 1.0* This app has the right idea behind the concepts of auditory discrimination and also sound identification, which are crucial skills for speech/language development and pre-reading skills. Love it that it is free. The contrast between the white background and the colorful pictures is great. Needs Improvement in these areas: - voice-over fades and gets louder and is sometimes overpowered by the audio of the item to find - pictures are realistic but resolution is a bit grainy - sizing on screen is off...does it keep running data at the top of the screen? (Really great idea for we educators!) Can't tell for sure, as that part is mostly hidden - a slight delay between launching and the first task beginning would be helpful Fix these areas and I will definitely share this app with colleagues. ### 3/5 — Too easy *2014-03-13, version 2.1* I liked the app conceptually. However it was too simple. I wish there was more variety on sounds--my 2 year old scored 100% her 2nd time and my 4 year old was bored. ### 3/5 — Would be great if... *2012-02-04, version 2.0* Good start. Please update to add options to turn off spoken prompts. They are presented too close to the primary stimuli; moreover, they just add confusion for kids who really have difficulty with auditory discrimination of environmental sounds. Add side feature to repeat the targeted environmental sound before selection. In training, a very important support for clients/kids is to just "hear it again" to be sure of selection. Also, some of the auditory prompts are too brief and/or are relatively low in volume. :-). One more suggestion..Please add two lower levels for 1)the individual item on screen with touch presentation of its sound and 2)a choice between two items. It would be great to have all this in current version; yet many of us would accept a very small cost differential to get the advantages of these suggested options/updates. Would appreciate feedback on my comments from developers and other purchasers. It would be nice if there was a replay function if they are not able to identify the sound on the first trial. Also it would be nice if you could increase the number of pictures displayed. ### 3/5 — Great idea but problems with functionality *2012-01-14, version 2.0* This is a much better version, much more slick and sounds don't overlap anymore. I would still like to see an option that enables you to customise the number of pictures to choose from, and also it would be REALLY good if the child could listen to the sound more than once as it doesn't last long and if your auditory processing skills are weak then this is very difficult.. ### 3/5 — Please fix PLAY AGAIN button at the end of the game *2011-11-30, version 1.0* I LOVE this app and use it frequently in speech therapy to develop listening skills. However, the Play Again button at the end of the game, in the box with the score display, does not work. I have to turn off my iPad and turn it back on in order to get the game to restart. Please fix this feature. I would give it 5 stars if the button worked! Thanks, P. I am a speech therapist with experience in pediatrics and adults. I use this app for my adults who have suffered strokes and have aphasia and are having trouble identifying basic sounds. I used it with kids as well as a warm up activity to "get their ears ready" for discriminating phonemes. I wish there were more sounds or different levels...perhaps sets of 10 sounds. Also as another user mentioned, the option to turn off the prompt and also replay the sound. Sometimes my geriatric patients need to hear the sound again and I have to select a wrong choice for them to hear it again and then they have to listen to then 'try again' message.. All in all one of my go to apps for discrim. ### 5/5 — Awesome app *2012-06-16, version 2.0* It has glitches but they don't detract from how great the app is. Simple and brilliant. I would love to be able to turn off the prompts, option to play the sound again, and option to add/remove pictures from the choices.
