However, the selection of places to eat leaves a lot to be desired and needs a better filter system. It might suit some people to find where the nearest McDonalds, Greggs or fish & chip shop is but if I want to meet someone for a half-decent lunch it doesn’t allow me to filter by price or type of restaurant (e.g. Italian, French, Indian, etc). However, it would be really great to have traffic information for a future timeframe. I might be searching in the morning for a Friday night dinner place and the drive time would vary greatly. There's a few of us meeting up and all coming from different points. Don't limit to just halfway between two points. ### 4/5 — Much needed *2024-06-02* Easy to use and functional. I’ve been looking for an app that can suggest places to eat or meet half-way during a road trip. App suggest points of interest by selecting a defined radius (1-5 miles) and optionally close poi outside this radius. Only improvement would be a sort filter of poi by distance, or restaurant rating. Optionally being able to select your map of preference (Waze, google, apple) for enhanced guidance directions would be next level. This app is well worth the small fee. ### 2/5 — Not specific to your needs *2023-08-03* You cannot put in restaurant or any specific point of interest. It gives you a small list of things to say, and that is all. I wanted to find a restaurant midway and there is no option to specify restaurant. **Developer response:** Hi - thanks for your review. You can definitely do this, you just need to select the venue type from the drop-down. If non of the preset categories suit your needs (Food & Drink includes restaurants) then you can select the “Enter text…” option and you can type in exactly what you want to find. The Whatshalfway app has helped us identify the spot which is equidistant between us. After which we are able to identify pubs, restaurants and hotels to facilitate our meeting. You can look at the list or zoom in on the map. The first time I tried this app it gave me the midway point and then listed venues that weren’t restaurants, just shops. But now the list includes them. Not sure if the app was updated or it was a glitch. But it works now and helped me find a midway point to meet up with a friend for brunch so I’m happy. **Developer response:** Hi - thanks for your review. I’ve not quite worked out yet if the half way it suggests is where you would actually get off the junction off if you where on a motorway ### 5/5 — Love it *2023-04-01* I need to meet a friend right now and was zooming all over my regular Maps trying to find a point to meet halfway. Then I got the idea to search for an app that does this for me and here I am. This app is more than just a halfway point locator, it gives you multiple options within a certain radius of places to meet. Wonderful app!
