The only thing they would make it better is to see a map while riding. Otherwise, the GPS consumes the battery of my iPhone in minutes! I get to exercise and commuter at the same time. I’d been following the wheel for some time but what put it over the top was when I saw a woman riding with the wheel, passing me as I pulled out of my driveway. I have ridden 600 miles this past year, zero problems. Love it on my Trek Navigator bike. Also have a second red wheel on my Marin mountain bike in AZ and love that one too. Consistently get at least 25 miles in hilly country using eco, standard and turbo and up to 40 miles on the flat in mostly eco mode on a charge. ### 5/5 — Test ride of Peugeot with Superpedestrian *2019-08-11* Fitted 10 speed shimano 105 on the wife’s Peugeot ladies bike. Straightforward fit frame accepted a slight cold set to accommodate the wheel and with the matching paintwork it looks part of the bike. Straight into standard mode and away the bike went with ease up the road. Switch to Turbo for the small incline and the smooth delivery of power continued. Back pedalling and the breaking was more than I expected but controllable. Forces google/Facebook login. *2019-06-26, version 2.11.5* Would expect more from an MIT based company, but clearly the greed of Silicon Valley has crept into this company’s business model. The app crashes, a lot. It has a hard time finding my wheel most days (yes, I am fully updated with firmware) and has a really hard time accepting that I DONT want to login with Facebook or google. It also has a hard time accepting that I DO NOT want to share my location with it on a permanent basis. I loose 15 minutes a day fussing around with this app... not a lot but, but becomes so when I realize that I bought my wheel to make my days less complicated, not more. Shame on you super pedestrian. ### 1/5 — Awesome hardware, horrible app *2019-02-11, version 2.11.1* Nothing like trying to leave on a cold morning and being driven back into the house to complete a forced update on an app just to be able to ride. And of course having to go through resetting your forgotten password so the app can login to Superpedestrian, you know, so you can ride. But it's always worth the update to discover how the developers were somehow able to yet again make the interface even less friendly to use while riding. It ridiculous to be forced to use a battery consuming app to track my route and mileage when you can't even do anything with the data. It's ridiculous that I can't opt out of SP tracking my rides and data. If anyone really cares about tracking, they'll be using something like Map My Ride so they can track every bike they ride. Not to mention being able to plan routes, or share routes, or you know, navigate. It's awesome to know that if there's any interference, it may take a minute to connect to the wheel just so you can ride. Or maybe have to cycle the wheel on and off a couple times just so you can ride. It's awesome to know that if your phone battery dies, you can't use your wheel. Yay! I guess I should have known to bring a charger and plan to sit around for another Starbucks before being able to ride my bike home. It's great to know that even though you may not be able to turn it on, the Wheel doesn't actually have any rotational lock, so that friendly bike thief will still be able to pedal it away as you wait for your phone to charge. It's ridiculous that hardware this good requires any App, much less one this flaky and bad. The Wheel and the App need a mode where you set a default assist level, and the wheel powers on in that mode without requiring a Bluetooth phone connection. If I want to change while riding, sure, I have to use the app. But otherwise, just let me turn it on and ride. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Does not work, business failed, no support. *2024-07-06, version 2.11.7* The app no longer works. It is not possible to log in without server support. Therefore the bike is unusable. ### 5/5 — Excellent product *2023-01-30, version 2.11.7* I am so glad I got this Copenhagen wheel. I have an electric bike and this works better! Such smooth assistance. No jolting at all. You wouldn’t even know it’s there except the hills are easier. Really well designed. I keep it in eco mode and with shifting it’s great. Even though I think the wheel weighs about 18 lbs I sometimes ride with the motor (which is totally silent) off on a flat road and it’s fine. Really great product. If you can find one and you have the right bike for it (caliper brakes) grab it! One year later, I received a post card saying it was in. It’s marvelous. I can switch it to my tandem too. I’ve tried 3 other electric bikes running $3000-5000 and they are not better. The ones sold by Trek a specialized were nice but heavy and expensive and look like something Mary Poppins would ride. I got a kit and converted a mountain bike which is nice, but lacked the smooth seamless power delivery that the Copenhagen torque sensor provides. I did a lot of research and bought the Copen. wheel. I have several nice bikes that I can put it on. Right now it’s on a Specializ Sirrus. It has excellent power. I’m 180 and live in Vermont where it is all hills and mountains, And rough roads paved and unpaved. My longest ride is 30 miles which took about 85% of the battery, again with lots of hills. The wheel is a lighter option compared to the purpose-built e bikes A Copen. Wheel is worth a close look. It’s a cool and very functional option. ### 5/5 — Beautiful bikes! *2020-05-19, version 2.11.6* My only concern is that the team who developed the great application that works with the wheel have the resources AND the desire to keep updating the app. I’ve had my wheel since 2017 and haven’t seen any ground breaking updates since. I’ve reached out to the the company to inquire about Apple Watch compatibility but nothing. If you go to the website, the main page is all about electric scooters. Don’t forget about the the people who invested in your beautiful ebikes Superpedestrian! ### 5/5 — Copenhagen Wheel *2020-03-03, version 2.11.6* I love this Wheel because it allows me to ride my bicycle, which would be nearly impossible due to all the hills around my neighborhood. I ride it from Newtonville to the bike/pedestrian/jogging path along the Charles River which goes all the way to Boston. The price is very reasonable when compared to electric bikes on the market. It is absolutely one of the best purchases I have ever made. ### 5/5 — My Superpedestrian wheel *2019-10-18, version 2.11.5* I’m 74 years old. I started riding bicycles quite often when I was 11. I have raced in national bike races during my riding days, but now ride only for exercise and the comfort of just riding. The problem is I live in a large hilly area. I thought my riding was over until I learned about this incredible wheel. I can now ride anywhere I want to go, as long as the ride stays within the limit time of the wheel, which for me is about 2.5 hours. I recommend that anyone in my position contact Superpedestrain. This is a fabulous wheel. You owe it to yourself to check it out. ### 5/5 — Life changing *2019-10-01, version 2.11.5* I have always been active. But hit with Breast Cancer, Kidney Cancer and now cancer in my lungs - I simply couldn’t keep up with my friends. However, with the Copenhagen Wheel I can! I love being able to be a part of my group without the looks of sympathy. This wheel was put on the bike I already loved. Good to go! Simple as that. One improvement I would look for in the app is the down time without resetting a ride. What I mean is that if I take my iPhone to take a picture of something fabulous, the app stops the ride.
