### 3/5 — Fun but parking confusing

*2023-02-16, version 1.44.1*

It didn’t really explain that you have to park next to the other scooters. As a first time user the app kept saying ‘park in the green circle’—I was in the green circle… finally realized I had to park with the other scooters and then the app wouldn’t recognize that I was swiping to end the ride. I had to kill my wifi and kill the app, THEN it let me stop the timer. It’s still cool, but I wish the parking was emphasized when I opened the app or something. At least I know now, user error, but the app timer still going after I parked correctly is an extra drag.

### 2/5 — Feels like I got scammed.

*2022-10-29, version 1.44.0*

My friends and I used these bikes to get around in Downtown Austin. We all went to the same destination but somehow I was charged about 4x more than them, triggering the automatic reload (which of course is switched on by default). They only have customer service via a form on their app. In the app, it doesn’t even say how much the rides cost and I tried to get a receipt but it says my account doesn’t have an email listed (have to have an email to start the account so that’s not true.) I’m really disappointed. Not to mention they slowed down the bike near UT because it’s a no ride zone and I was stuck using my feet to push myself through a busy intersection to get out of the no ride zone.

### 2/5 — Terrible Experience

*2022-10-05, version 1.44.0*

We just rented 2 bikes and road them about a mile from where we are staying. We stopped and ended our ride with the intent to get back on and ride back to our hotel about 10 minutes later (the app did NOT notify us we were in a NO PARKING ZONE). When we got back on the bikes, it let us start our ride, and started charging us. The back wheel on the bikes were locked and we could not get them to go. We tried to end the ride and even though we were in the same place that we ended the ride the first time, it said “Unable to end ride in no parking zones”. The bikes have a URL listed that you can supposedly see the map of the these no park zones and of course it doesn’t work (it says no website found and yes we typed it correctly). I am currently 7 months pregnant and had to carry this bike to a place where I could get it to start or end my ride (again we don’t know how far we need to go because we don’t have access to the website that they said has the no parking zones). We called support and they took my info and said a rep would call me at *some point* and to stay by the bikes. That was hours ago and no one has reached out to us. It’s a good thing we were only a mile away from our hotel because we had to walk back. Needless to say it was a terrible experience.

### 3/5 — Fun with complications

*2022-06-09, version 1.44.0*

The ride is fun, easy to start, even easy to see where you can START your ride (location of parked scooters). Getting the ride to stop is the hard part. Parking is strange and very limited. I end up having to walk about 2 miles to get where I was going because scooter parking areas are so limited. This is a bad feeling considering I have picked up a scooter from a “no-parking” zone in a homeless camp. I tried to park in front of my resort hotel but the app didn’t like it. People were literally waiting for me to get off so they could ride. I’m too old and fat to walk 2 miles every time I want to get somewhere on one of these. If parking gets fixed I’ll be a near daily driver while in Hawaii.

### 2/5 — Charged me for more time than I used it

*2022-05-31*

Literally took a 5 minute trip and it charged me for 20 mins and thought I did a 31km journey! Absolute joke - and terrible customer messaging service

### 1/5 — Bogus Charges for Non-Use

*2022-04-03, version 1.43.0*

Bogus charges will end up on your credit card. When your bike refuses to start, you’ll get charged. Time is money. When your bike suddenly stops working nowhere near a designated parking area, fees will unknowingly continue to rack up in the background and you will be unable to end the ride. You’ll be charged a bundle even when you’re no longer able to use the bike because it automatically turned off even though my credit card account was set to auto reload. This company is a total rip-off. Stay away!

### 1/5 — Ruined my day

*2022-03-16*

Can’t believe how bad this experience was. The app, once you’re riding, doesn’t show you where the dropoff locations are - the time it takes to memorize the address, plug it into your browser, find the local hotels, then plug these into google maps adds 10 minutes. Worst of all, my bike died 10 blocks from the nearest dropoff, and I had to carry it there so I could end the ride. 40 minutes carrying an ebike and I was paying for it the whole time. And then I was further from my hotel than when I started!! $75 for screwing an entire half day in Hawai’i with my son (who got to watch dad lose his mind for an hour).

### 1/5 — Scam - bike locks up and charge you time locked

*2022-02-02, version 1.41.1*

Contact: “Better Business Bureau Scam Tracker”
Update: Customer service “Felicia” responds 2 days after I called for support while the bike was frozen and miles away! Great job of following up while customers are in need of help! WARNING - This is a Scam operation with a Fake customer service rep! DO NOT BE LEFT STRANDED — - - - - - - - - At first it was working but then all of a sudden it locked up and I couldn’t move it and I was dragging it until I could finally connect to their extremely rude “Answering service” who was so nasty and yelled at me saying there is “NO LOCATION FOR HONOLULU” yet I am using it in Honolulu and regret it. While I’m on the line with this rude person, I am being charged and they charged me multiple times then credited it then multiple times and credited it. But never responded or refunded the time that they scammed me while the bike was locked up and frozen inexplicably. Do Not Use because you could be miles away from where they will force you to park and you’ll have to drag it back while being charged! Pure scam

### 1/5 — Charges you monthly automatically

*2022-01-12, version 1.41.1*

I downloaded this app while I was outta town an thought it would be fun but honestly I recommend lime bike or bird app this app charged me $5 to ride the bike for 2 literal minutes on top of that I noticed they started charging me $5 monthly when I never signed up for any monthly charges at all I am currently trying to cancel my subscription but they make it to where you have to send a ticket to them and wait for a response there is nowhere you can automatically cancel your subscription DON’T DOWNLOAD THIS APP they will take your money!!

### 2/5 — Battery and software problems

*2022-01-02, version 1.41.1*

There were about ten bikes lined up down the block from my downtown Austin apartment. I figured they must all have just been charged and dropped off… wrong. We activated 5 or 6 bikes to find a second bike that had close to half a charge.
Even with two bars of battery, once you get going the charge drops way down. The bikes barely had enough power to make it over a gentle hill. After two blocks one of he bikes stoped working, so we found another. After a mile and a half, the replacement bike stopped working. That left my Partner on foot while I went looking for another replacement. None were to be found, so we decided to give up.
I parked my bike and swiped to end the ride, but the app froze, it took me about three minutes to get the app to end the ride.
The app clocked 19 minutes and a distance of 3 plus miles for $8. In fact I had actually traveled 1.5, ridden under 10 minutes, and wasted 8 minutes on battery and software issues. I’ll stick with a scooter next time. Faster, more reliable, more fun and less frustration. Just my first and last experience with wheels.

### 1/5 — Terrible experience

*2021-12-28*

Terrible experience. Three bikes dead. One finally seemed to work and died after two mins.

### 1/5 — Waste of time and money

*2021-12-25*

Maximum speed 8mph and helmet wouldn’t fit back in, complete RUBBISH

### 2/5 — Not what expected

*2021-10-31, version 1.41.1*

Not what I expected at all, first of you can’t even enjoy them properly at all. Secondly it keeps count of your minutes which makes it even worst , price wasn’t bad on the last attempt on a so called easy to use System. I had called the number from the bank statement which has changed recently, find it odd how they changed that most likely due to high volume complaints. The app charged me a hidden fee of unlocking the app plus the first two attempt it didn’t want to turn on, yet have heard back from them to take off the charge. Next time I’ll support a local bike shop instead of going this easy route .. sadly.

### 1/5 — Ride won’t end, scamming

*2021-10-31, version 1.41.1*

So I took the wheels to go home, like 5 mins. Got to my spot and tried to stop the ride and it won’t stop. Now it’s racking up like 40 mins because the app won’t stop the ride. I tried to everything. Slide the simple arrow to end ride and it slides over but no stop. I’ve been trying to end this for like 30 mins, nothing. It’s still going as I write this even though I’m in my place, parked the bike, tried to end the ride I’m the app, and turned it off. Don’t use this if you want a simple ride. I’m just hoping the customer support is decent and they will reimburse.

### 1/5 — Wheels Experiences

*2021-09-01, version 1.39.0*

I have given wheels a fair shot I have had about 10 very terrible experiences in one day. First off some of the bikes did not work at all, so I was charged an activation fee for a vehicle that didn’t work, this happened more than once. Second off, I had great service and the app would bug out like crazy everytime I tried to end it so I would spend 5+ minutes restarting the app to try and end the ride. Third, the customer service did not make any attempt to help when contacted there was many excuses and long hold periods. Overall unreliable, shady, and poor quality aswell as service. As a person who uses many forms of public transport I recommend Lime, Link, or Spin but Wheels falls far below the standards of ride, app experience, and support.

### 1/5 — SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT USE.

*2021-07-31, version 1.38.0*

I wish I could give this 0 stars. Please don’t end up like my boyfriend and I did, save your time and money. 1. The app doesn’t tell you when you’re in a red zone, instead- it just casually shuts the bike down, causing you to have no other choice but to WALK IT, out of the red zone that continues to add more red zones as you walk out of it. OH and let me add, you HAVE to remove it from the zone in order to park it and IT CHARGES YOU THE WHOLE TIME. 2. THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM. I called the number on the wheels and they told me they would call me back 3 times I called and never did. I know it looks like fun, but please just use the electronic scooters available, save your money and don’t let this company scam you.

### 1/5 — Horrible Customer Service

*2021-07-19, version 1.37.0*

I rented one of these things on a monthly basis and what they gave me was a piece of crap that had 2100 miles on it and has been beat to death…prior to my taking possession of this heap it had obviously been crashed, the brakes don’t work well…looks like it has been run over…the battery won’t hold a charge the wheels don't hold air…I’ve called customer service every single day since I took possession I have heard back from them that once I have written a review on their end of ride check out list and it has not been good at all not once… I’ve heard nothing back absolutely nothing…This has been a colossal waste of time and money it has been so frustrating that I wish that I could just throw the thing in the garbage but that can’t happen… What can happen is me going to the pick up location tomorrow and politely asking for a new on they can forget my renewing any contract whatsoever and that I will review them every single chance I get…oh and a report to the BBB…stay away from this company, it is awful…

### 1/5 — Garbage

### 1/5 — Request forbidden for overseas number

*2023-05-22*

Denies overseas phone numbers with request failed forbidden (403) error

### 1/5 — NF

*2023-04-16*

The app did not accept my mobile number
Never even able to try it

### 1/5 — Garbage. Do not use

*2023-03-02, version 1.44.1*

Used one of these bikes in Oahu to get to a boat ride in the morning. The app wouldn’t let me and my partner park the bikes because they were in “no parking zones”. There was also no map within the app that showed us where we could park. We rode around for 20minutes trying to find a spot where the app would let us park (including designated bike parking areas in Oahu). Finally, my partner was able to get her bike to end ride but in the EXACT SAME LOCATION, I wasn’t able to do the same. Had to end up leaving the bike running because I wasn’t able to park and was about to miss my boat ride. Total charge: $65 usd for a bike ride that was supposed to be 20minutes.

### 1/5 — Scam!

*2023-01-02*

Looked easy but it wasn’t! We were not able to end the ride. There were no locations provided on the maps. Kept on saying no parking zone. The site mentioned “check the maps below for the parking areas” guess what no maps were provided. Finally we just had to leave them very far from where we actually wanted. We tried different bicycle stands, places away from the buildings and what not! Never doing it again.

### 1/5 — Transparency

*2022-11-05, version 1.44.0*

They lack. No where does it show cost per use. Rented two of these which was fun, but one had no power a few minutes in and while we stopped to figure this all out, we were being charged. Couldn't turn off the service so it kept charging until gps worked. My gps stated 3.2 miles while theirs showed over 13 miles, although I was at the park next door. Felt like a scam and warn against others using this overly priced, non maintained piece of s that charged me $50 for their fake 13 miles and time used trying to figure out this mess. The downsides to this far outweigh the upside. Don't believe me yet? Take a look at their 6 page terms before accepting. There's NO representative to call and email is the only contact"we will get back to you". If anything goes wrong here your in a world of h. Stay far, far away. Your better off using your feet than putting money behind this company and it's horrible shady way of business. You've been warned.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2022-09-13, version 1.44.0*

My friends and I had a reservation at a restaurant about 1.1 miles away. We thought “let’s just take the bikes there”. What a horrible decision. We spent 20 minutes after arriving trying to end our ride in their “designated parking zones”, but yet the app wasn’t allowing us to end our ride while it kept charging us. The app said we weren’t in the parking zone even though we were. We thought “it’s OK, we’ll contact their support to get this resolved” WRONG. Phone number, nowhere to be found. The email ticket system, which is non-existent, had to double reply to get a response. When I finally got a response, their brain-dead support was giving us copy and paste replies. You have a better chance of getting a real response from the bike than you would from their support.

### 1/5 — Over charged

*2022-09-04, version 1.44.0*

The bike stop when I stop to take a pictures of the beach and had to walk the bike to a designated stop point over charged my card because time would not stop after ride ended app wouldn’t let me slide to end ride smh what a rip off I want my money back i didnt even get to drive 23$ worth of minutes I would not recommend at all because if you stop at non placing point where your bike is can not be placed it will not let you end the ride instead you have to pick up the motor bike and walk it to the spot while still charging your card wth And customer service number on bike just tell you leave voicemail wth while still charging me and my fiancé 23 buck

### 1/5 — Don’t ride!!

*2022-08-26, version 1.44.0*

This app and ride share service is terrible! There is no way in the app to navigate to a stop, and the map it directs you to is not detailed enough to give even street names. So you have to pay while you open another app to navigate you to the stop. I prepaid and our ride took longer than we anticipated and then it locked up the bike when we had to stop to further out where we were. No way to back up and add more money or do anything. But the date kept going up. Had to drag the bike a half mile to end the ride!!

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

### 5/5 — On vacation!!

*2021-06-02, version 1.34.0*

We went to Seattle from Hawaii for a well deserved vacation! My hubby has a bad back so walking long distance was out of the question.. I was afraid that this vacation would be a bust but because your Wheels was there all around the down town area, it made it so much easier and a blast!! We had so much fun on them that my hubby is looking into purchasing two for us.. There were some that ran perfectly and done that needed some maintenance bug all and all our experience on Wheels was amazing!! Would really like to look into investing in this project..

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot for your rating and safe rides :)

### 5/5 — Ride wouldn’t turn off

*2021-03-21, version 1.31.0*

After my ride I followed the app instructions and swiped to end the ride. The ride continued to run and charge me for another five minutes. I didn’t get the ride to stop until I turned my phone off and turned it back on. By this point I had driven away from the bike and could not submit a picture. Was very frustrated. I was stuck in pouring down rain and trying to just get out of the rain.

### 5/5 — Issue that needs to be fixed

*2020-10-23, version 1.27.0*

I used Wheels for the first time in downtown San Diego and it was very fun only thing is I think wheels need to fix is that they should be able to let u look in different cites in the map to see where the bikes are instead of only having the bikes pop up when u actually get to those cities.

### 5/5 — Them yolks are naughty

*2020-08-30*

Belter

### 5/5 — Warning you need to wear safety equipment

*2020-03-01, version 1.15.0*

Ok so the app is great and the vehicle is great... but I must advise you that you really want to have safety cause the first time I fell off with out anything to protect me and scraped up my right knee and hands pretty bad soo you would want gloves, knee pads, and a helmet and you should anyways cause the app gives you a ton of warnings I didn’t cause I live in Missouri and we don’t have any here plus I’m just here for vacation and I have no safety equipment. So if you don’t have any safety equipment you should ride one of the scooters but I you do I diffidently recommend it, it’s really fun

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2019-06-12, version 1.0.49*

Just went from downtown San Diego to Liberty Station along the waterfront and my face hurts from smiling😆. Best $10 I’ve spent in a long time. The bike was clean, charged up and in excellent condition. I brought wet wipes to clean the grips but they weren’t needed (Birds always need wet wipes). It was super easy to unlock, felt very solid and safe and ... it was SO FUN to ride! Zipping silently along San Diego Bay in the warm sunshine with the breeze on my face and palm trees swaying, all I need is a margarita now! Freakin’ awesome. I want to buy one now. 🌈🚲✊🏼

### 5/5 — Fun for my whole (adult) family!

*2019-04-08, version 1.0.40*

Was visiting family in SD and stumbled upon Wheels nearby my sisters place and decided to give it a try. Loved the speed and control I had throughout the ride! I even convinced my 62 year old mom to give it a shot and she had a blast. At one point I had the whole family of seven on them with our music playing through the bike! I can definitely see how these could be used to commute in a dense place like downtown SD.

Compared to the competition I can’t see how these won’t catch on (or already are! Saw so many people on them throughout the couple days I was in town). Can’t wait for them to be in my town

### 5/5 — Great Experience and easy to use!!!

*2019-04-05, version 1.0.40*

A group of us took a trip to Venice for the weekend where we noticed the Wheels bikes everywhere we went.
Many people were riding the bikes around the area and it looked like they were having such a good time that we had to try it for ourselves.
After a little bit of shopping and eating around we decided to give them a try. We were all able to get signed in and begin riding within less than 20 seconds.
The experience was great and felt very safe. We rode the bikes through the Venice boardwalk which has a bike lane and the view was breathtaking in the evening which was made even more enjoyable by being able to ride Wheels.
For anyone looking to try these bikes I would highly recommend them. They feel very safe and are a lot of fun!

### 4/5 — Suggestions

*2021-04-12, version 1.32.0*

I wish that the app has an option to have a group ride, so that we could all ride the bike, but it was very easy to start and bike and we didn’t have any troubles with it stopping or anything, but for a minute I couldn’t stop the ride so I had to close the app and restart it, but when I didn’t that the ride was able to stop. But I suggest they add an option to have a group ride like lime scooters have.

### 4/5 — activation fee = bogus & Unnecessary but the $ per minute is worth it.

*2019-12-24, version 1.7.0*

Honestly, the dollar should be imposed on a minimum minute usage basis on the back-end. Think about it...if my bike runs out of juice or if my trip is longer than most, I have to pay that fee again and again!? What if your bike just freezes, I have to eat that fee!? And what, I’m gonna really chase you down for a single one dollar issue?! You guys are smart but let the people eat CAKE! !! CHARGE THE ONE DOLLAR SAUSAGE FEE ON THE BACK END IF CUSTOMERS DO NOT USE THE BIKES FOR A MINIMUM OF YOUR TOTAL COST @ ur BREAK EVEN POINT. just sayin...until then, 4-stars. I am deliberately trying to not pull off two stars for this issue. Ok. Enjoy. The bike is pretty darn fun guys and it’s much faster then those cheapie little scooters that break your hands from hitting Los Angeles potholes with concrete tires. You know what I’m talking about! And you guys want to level up with the cheapie scooter company’s and charge the EXACT SAME FEE FROM FRONT TO BACK!? Cmon be original!
