## What is Where Do We Eat??

Ranked-choice voting for the eternal question: where do we eat?

Pass the phone around. Everyone searches real nearby restaurants, secretly picks their top five, and instant-runoff voting finds the place your group can actually agree on. No accounts, no setup — just names, taps, and dinner.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Type your name and build your ballot — search real restaurants near you with photos, ratings, prices, and distance (powered by Foursquare).
2. Tap up to five places in order. Tap again to change your mind.
3. Pass the phone. Everyone votes secretly.
4. The reveal: your winner, the full leaderboard, and a play-by-play for voting nerds.

FEATURES
• Real restaurants nearby — filter by distance, cuisine, price, and open-now
• Ranked-choice (instant-runoff) voting finds the compromise everyone can live with
• Zero overlap in your picks? Vote again — or let fate draw someone's #1
• "Gotta be somewhere new" keeps you out of the same three places
• Vote by text: friends elsewhere send their ballot back as a simple code — no accounts, ever
• Keep lists of favorites, must-tries, and never-agains
• History tracks every decision and your new-place streak

Dinner is a group decision. Now it has a fair election.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.02 — 2026-08-15

A new engine under the hood for restaurant search: sharper food photos on every card, bars now show up in results alongside restaurants, and repeat searches in the same area are faster. Restaurant data now comes from Foursquare.

### 1.01 — 2026-08-08

Starting a new night is more flexible: reuse any saved ballot, build a new one, or go open. Plus fresh screenshots and small polish.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-06

No release notes.
