## What is Where Next?!?

You meet someone in a hostel in Lisbon. You share a bus ride across Bolivia. You swap stories over dinner in Tokyo. Then time moves along, and slowly, the names fade.

Where Next?! helps you keep them close. Share where you've been, see where your friends are heading, and turn fleeting encounters into lasting bonds.

What you can do:

• Map your world — Pin every city you've visited and every experience worth remembering
• See who's where — Discover which friends are in the places you're heading to next
• Plan together — Find out when your travels overlap with someone else's, before you even book the flight
• Remember the people you met along the way, and the days you shared in each city
• Share tips with friends about to visit a place you already know
• Keep the stories alive — Photos, notes, and memories from every trip, all in one place

Who it's for:

Backpackers, digital nomads, study-abroad students, expats, locals who love sharing their city with travelers passing through, and anyone who enjoys meeting people from all over the world.

Where Next?! isn't about collecting countries. It's about traveling better — discovering new places, swapping tips with people who've been there, and keeping the bonds you form along the way.

Because, with friends and memories, the trips never really end.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.2 (Maresia) — 2026-09-28

• The app now speaks Brazilian Portuguese: automatic on Portuguese phones, or pick it in Settings
• Experiences map: one pin per place; tap it for the photos (swipe), the travellers' notes and Directions
• City page: experiences at one spot are one card; tap to expand, then See on map or Go to trip
• Trips can say how you got there (plane, train, bus, boat, car, bike, on foot)
• Hostel game: friends join with one link or a QR code

### 1.2.1 (Catching Wind) — 2026-09-27

What's New — v1.2.1 (build 26)

• Sharing a city, post or experience now opens your phone's share sheet.
• City pages: tap the travellers stack to see and pick several travellers at once.
• Small polish in onboarding and messages.

### 1.2.0 (Catching Wind) — 2026-09-08

What's New — v1.2.0 "Catching Wind" (build 25)

• City chat: talk with travelers in the city you're in, with @mentions.
• Groups: create experience groups with co-hosts, invite people, chat inside.
• Likes: like experiences and posts — and see who liked yours.
• Trip notes, city-state pages with stats and a photo strip, and a dashboard layout setting.

### 1.1.5 Setting Sail — 2026-08-29

hat's New — v1.1.5 (build 24)

• A friendlier first-steps guide when you're new — see your next steps right on the feed.
• Mark your very best finds as "Top" experiences.
• Search now ignores accents — "cafe" finds "café".
• The experience form warns you before you lose unsaved changes.

### 1.1.1 Setting Sail — 2026-08-26

What's New in v1.1.1 "Setting Sail"

Dark mode is here! Where Next?! now follows your phone's appearance — or pick
Light/Dark yourself in Settings → Appearance. Every screen got the treatment,
including a night-friendly map and timeline, with five themes to choose from.

Google Maps, connected both ways:
• Found a great spot in Google Maps? Tap Share → Where Next?! — the app opens and
adds it to your trip, name already filled in.
• And when adding an experience, a search icon opens Google Maps on the right place.

Swipe from the left edge of the screen to go back — anywhere in the app.

Day trips: mark an outing as a day trip and it shows as an out-and-back from
your base, keeping your trip timeline honest.

Also new:
• Tap a post's city name to jump to that city's page; tap photos for fullscreen.
• Share your profile with a QR code — scanning it opens your profile directly.
• Cleaner profile header on small phones, and back from a profile returns you to
  the exact spot in Discover.
• Notebook: read a pending note in full before accepting it.
• Back-to-back trips now show the right dates, feed scrolling stays smooth, and
dozens of dark-mode and stability fixes throughout.
