## What is WhereKept?

WhereKept is a home inventory for finding things, not for filing them.

Every item you add gets a shelf address, the same way a library book has a call number: Garage, tool chest, top drawer. Search for the passport and the answer is a place you can walk to, not a photo of a drawer.

How it works

1. Name the places. Rooms hold closets, cabinets, shelves and bins, and those hold things. Nest as deep as your house goes.
2. Give each item a place. Add a photo and the details you care about.
3. Look it up. Search by name, brand, note, or place. Or scan the label on a bin and see what is inside without opening it.

On every plan

Places that nest as deep as your house. Move a whole cabinet to another room and every item inside keeps up.
Search that answers with the address.
Printable labels with a scannable code for bins, shelves, and storage boxes.
A record of every move, with who and when.
A spreadsheet export of everything you have entered. Your data is yours.
Sign in with Apple or with email.
One inventory for everyone in your home. Invite people with a code, and everyone sees the same places on their own phone. Your partner puts the holiday lights in the basement, and the address is on your phone a second later.

The free plan holds 25 items for the whole household, shared by everyone in it, with one photo per item.

WhereKept Plus

Plus is for the whole household.

Unlimited items, with up to 5 photos each.
Photo identification that suggests a name, brand, and model from a photo, 300 a month. Nothing is guessed; you review before saving.
An insurance export. One tap produces a PDF grouped by room with photos, serial numbers, purchase dates, and prices.

One subscription covers the whole household: $19.99 a year or $2.99 a month in the United States. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings. If Plus ends, nothing is locked: everything you added stays searchable and exportable.

What it does not do

It does not estimate what your things are worth. It does not sell your data. It does not show your inventory to anyone you did not invite.

Who made it

Viereck Group LLC, a small independent developer. Write to contact@wherekept.com and a person answers.

Privacy

Your inventory belongs to your household. Photos are stored privately and are never used to train anything. You can export everything and delete your account from inside the app at any time. Full policy at wherekept.com/privacy.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-10-30

Sharing is now free: invite the people you live with and the household's 25 items are on everyone's phone. Search forgives plurals, word order and typos, so "where are the passports" finds Passport. Adding is faster, with rooms one tap away and the form ready for the next item after you save. WhereKept now opens with what was saved on the phone, so it answers even with no signal in the garage. Owners can get a new invite code or remove someone, and anyone can leave a household. Optional reminders in the first week, and a clear message if a payment goes through but Plus is slow to switch on.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-10-26

Signing back in, on a new phone or after reinstalling, now opens your own household with everything in it. Before this fix the app could set up an extra empty home instead; if you have one, switch back under Household, Switch household.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-10-23

A new account now opens on Find, with your home and its rooms already waiting under Places, so you can look around before you add anything. The first item is one tap away from the empty Find screen.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-10-23

A new account now starts with a home and the usual rooms already in place, and opens on Add, so your first item takes one screen instead of five. The household can be renamed from the Household tab, and the invite message says where to enter the code. Item history shows the full address, and a scanned label opens on what is inside it.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-06

Household invites now include a link to get the app, so the person you invite can download WhereKept and join with your code. Deleting your account now says plainly that Apple billing continues until you cancel, with a button to manage your subscription. If the person who pays for Plus leaves, the household keeps Plus until the end of the period they paid for. The Terms of Use now link to wherekept.com/terms.
