Like most people, I find it difficult to resist running to a chain brand when I'm in a time cramp, whether it be clothing or shampoo or groceries. But I am able to put way more time into planning where I want to socialize with my friends or meet up for a drink. People especially value local, small bars. We gotta get this right. #letsgetthismoney #igottousethis ### 5/5 — Everyone, the app is working fine *2016-07-23, version 1.0.8* There's a dialog box that appears when you initially download the app. It states if you see an arrow pointing down over the 'home' tab there is content that is still downloading for offline use. You must remain connected to your Internet access/WiFi in order for all the content to appear. And of course you'll need to continue to be connected to Internet in order to use your location to search for businesses closest in proximity. Please ensure you're following the instructions and recommend this app! :) ### 5/5 — Great! *2016-07-17, version 1.0.8* I love the fact that I am able to find black businesses in my area with a touch of a button. I see this app really blossoming in the near future! ### 3/5 — So much potential *2016-07-12, version 1.0.8* This app has so much potential because of its convenience but... There are dozens of black owned business lists/websites/Facebook groups and it would be great if this app could include them all. Streamlined is always better. Also, I'd recommend including black franchise owners; sometimes I need to do basic errands or want to treat myself to fast food but I want to make sure the pharmacy or restaurant is black owned. I saw someone suggest designing a sticker that advertises their black owned status, kind of like Yelp does for its listed establishments. I'd like to cosign on that. All told, this is a great idea, but it's got a ways to go. I look forward to seeing how it develops in the future. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Needs fixing *2016-07-12, version 1.0.8* Really nice concept however I can't get past the "register" page without getting an error message, I deleted the app because it freezes on the error message but the same thing happens. If you want people to support you and the app it needs work. I was really excited to use this app hopefully you guys get it together. Won't be permanently deleting just yet. ### 1/5 — App needs to be fixed *2016-07-10, version 1.0.8* I am unsure as to whether or not the app does not work due to an influx of users, but it keeps telling me that it is unable to connect to the server. As many other reviewers have stated, it will not allow us to go beyond the country selection page. Please let us know when this issue has been fixed. Thank you! ☺️ ### 1/5 — Please Fix This App *2016-07-10, version 1.0.8* This is a brilliant idea, but the app itself is just poor. The category screen refuses to pop up for me to search and explore. In order to submit my email to the company, I was sent to my personal email and directed to fill out my information. The coding needs a lot of work. I'm so willing to support this. It keeps showing an error message saying "oops categories failed to reload, retry?" Maybe there are no black owned businesses registered on this app in the DMV area. I was initially required to send a email just to register and now the app is frozen and wont let me select my location.
