Which Bin? helps UK households identify common packaging, separate its different parts and find the most appropriate local recycling route.

TAKE A PHOTO

Open straight into the camera and photograph the whole package. Image analysis happens on your device. Confirm the suggested item, remove any parts that are not present, then see where each component should go.

BROWSE VISUALLY

Prefer not to scan? Browse a clear library of familiar packaging, materials and household items. Large icons make it easy to find bottles, jars, cans, cartons, trays, film, batteries, small electricals and more.

LOCAL GUIDANCE

Choose your postcode, council and collection type to receive guidance tailored to your area. Bin colours and services can vary by property, so uncertain results are clearly marked and linked back to current council guidance.

SEPARATE THE PACKAGING

Many packages belong in more than one place. Which Bin? can break an item into its pot, lid, sleeve, film, foil or card components and show a separate instruction for each part.
