And that’s where it becomes completely inaccurate, considering it happens to be the one thing I've been trying desperately to rely on the most of all! Now, as far as what I mean by "inaccurate severe weather", allow me to explain: I do like the fact that if a thunderstorm would be approaching my area, there would be an approximate time as to when that storm would start as shown in the hour-by-hour forecast. However, it is the type of Thunderstorm, more specifically between "moderate" and "heavy", displayed there that is actually the primary source that makes the whole entire app completely inaccurate in these situations. That is, it would sometimes start out as a heavy thunderstorm at the time shown and then, a few mines later, it "changes its mind" and changes that same storm from heavy to moderate. And then, a few more minutes later, it changes again, from moderate right back to heavy all over again. This makes the whole thing absolutely confusing, which is the last thing I'd want to be, especially since, depending on the severity of some storms, they could become a "life or death" situation. And nobody would want that to happen in their families! So the bottom line is this: If your weather app is supposed to have the same forecast in all sections of it as your StormCenter 7 meteorologists have on your newscasts every day, then I strongly suggest updating the app as quickly as you can so that it complies with them before strong to severe storms become possible again. I would really appreciate that! ### 2/5 — App is a commercial for the TV station *2024-07-03, version 5.13.804* After receiving a severe weather alert that appeared urgent the app alert redirected me to the WHIO TV website. However it made me watch an ad beforehand. Once the website loaded it simply directed me to tune in to the 5:00 broadcast for details, & the only detail was the storm will hit depending on where it was at the time. HOWEVER, when you open the radar or the live broadcasts, there is. 15-30 second ad, every time you open it. So, imagine you’re in your basement because a tornado is headed your way and your device is your source of information. Your family is worried about you and texting you. You go to text them back and come back to the app and there’s a 15-30 second ad for your heating and cooling needs before you can see how close the tornado is. ### 1/5 — Video not helpful *2024-06-05, version 5.13.804* Sadly videos are not labeled in terms of date and time, so you have to watch enough to get context that they’re hours, sometimes days old. ### 4/5 — Great but needs widget options *2024-05-08, version 5.13.804* This has always been my favorite weather app and news channel. But there is no option for home screen widgets and that's really disappointing. Nothing like looking at ads to see if you are in tornado warning. Notification settings don’t work. Still get news video notifications even when off. Clearly WHIO doesn’t have our backs.
