There’s so many creeps on this app, and so many unhinged things people say it’s kinda scary that you don’t know who is hiding behind a screen ### 4/5 — Good app, one major bug *2026-08-19, version 2.3.2* When you open a picture in messages, you can’t close it. The x is up where the time on the phone is, and does not register ### 4/5 — Updated Review (7/24): 2 steps forward, 1 step back *2026-07-24, version 2.0.8* Update: The brought back the ability to find your own comments. Review: The latest update fixed a lot of the smoothness issues and lag that people had. It’s a usable app now. However, it took away the ability to end conversations. Sometimes people are really difficult and you want to delete the conversation to end it. Pre update, it would also delete the conversation on the other person’s side. This new update only deletes it from your side, so they can continue the conversation without any idea that you wanted to end the conversation. Extra Details: KEEP IN MIND that “deleting” your comments and posts apparently doesn’t delete them since I’ve found my deleted posts and comments that were supposedly deleted. Please bring fix these. Also, in the spirit of the app, wouldn’t hurt to add a reset account button. ### 4/5 — 2 steps forward, 1 step back *2026-07-22* The latest update fixed a lot of the smoothness issues and lag that people had. It’s a usable app now. However, it took away two abilities. 1st the ability to find your own comments in the notifications tab. Probably because they’re rebuilding it to not show your comments on deleted posts (there was an issue pre update where you your comments would be listed but the post might be gone so you couldn’t clear the notification). 2nd the ability to end conversations. Sometimes people are really difficult and you want to delete the conversation to end it. Pre update, it would also delete the conversation on the other person’s side. This new update only deletes it from your side, so they can continue the conversation without any idea that you wanted to end the conversation. Please bring these features back. But we need verification system in order to know who is a real person. I swear each time I talk to a female they be asking for money in sketchy ways like they try to scam you. Another thing is nearby section of the app is not working properly. And the app crashes a lot too. So Ima put four stars for the developers to notice and take action. To the point where you can’t even read it. Incredibly annoying to constantly be picking through ever changing font sizes. Who approved such a ridiculous platform? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No replacement for old Whisper *2026-08-05, version 2.2.6* Update Aug 5 2026: Now that the app has more users, the dev has added ads & a ton of "premium" cash grabs. They also introduced an option to "reset" your account, which gives people who are blocked for harassment a way to continue harassing the people who have blocked them. There seems to be no moderation whatsoever for hate speech, since open members of hate groups can post freely about wanting to kill minorities, and there's no reporting option for it (the "other" text box does not work). Hate speech and inciting violence against marginalized groups are not the same as "harassment/bullying". Whisper Social was already borderline unusable before this update, but this was what finally convinced me to delete my account. Original review: Overrun with spambots & creeps. Most of the few real people are just there to beg for nudes. What happened to whisper being an app for secrets you couldn't say anywhere else? Not to mention all the functionality issues & how it totally stops working every few hours. I really enjoy it and hope more people join! ### 5/5 — Best Whisper Clone *2026-08-20, version 2.3.2* This is the only functional Whisper replacement. The others are buggy, with corrupt devs, nonstop ads, etc. This one has proper moderation that still lets you be yourself but doesn’t tolerate the actual scum of scammers and bots. I think the other apps only have users still because not enough people know about this one yet, I think it was a little late to the game.
