### 1/5 — Not THE MacWhisper You Want

This app has the same name as an established highly regarded transcription app. It is not that app. I fell for it and cost me $50. This app in the app store has no support (only a generic Google form), no webpage,  claims unlimited transcription, but limits YouTube transcription to 1000 words. This app in the app store is only in version 1.xx.

To get the real MacWhisper which is in version 14.4.1 go directly to the MacWhisper website. Jordi Bruin distributes the full macOS application directly:  MACWHISPER.COM (or via his Gumroad storefront directly).

Bruin’s official app on Apple's stores is listed under the name "Whisper Transcription" (by seller Good Snooze / Jordi Bruin), though I think most Mac power users will want to purchase and download the standalone MacWhisper Pro directly from his website.

This app was suggested by Gemini (for free mac desktop transcription). Once installed, the app is not called MacWhisper, it has some other name. Then, once opened, it required money to use, with no free version. Then, I could not quit the app. I could not move the app to the trash because it remained open. Had to do a HARD RESTART to quit the app. Trashed it right away.
