If I do a recording and then I get interrupted by a phone call or switch apps while it is doing the transcribe of the recording, it will actually put that recording into a permanent loading state that just spins forever. I can close the app, even reboot the phone, and I'll come back in and it will perpetually keep showing this spinning icon forever after that. I can still play the audio out, but it doesn't even show the red error that I can then try to do a retry. I have about five of those in my list of recordings that are showing infinite spinners on them. I upgraded to WhisperPro and check the internet connection which is perfect and have done all the other things suggested but I keep getting the error message. The audio I am trying to transcribe are 30 mins long and 45 mins. Is it the length?? What is going on?? Very irritating!!! ### 1/5 — Transcription *2023-11-21* The transcription is good but I cannot export it via email/whatsapp. ### 1/5 — I want to love this but it crashes lots … *2023-09-25* I have tried this and found the transcription ability is miraculous (as you’d expect it’s open AIs open sourced transcription model) however the bit we’re paying for, (as whisper Pro) seems to be super buggy. The interface is super easy to use and would work well if it didn’t crash all the time trashing any recording you’ve just made. I have tried mailing the developer for support but have had no response. You “record” sound using your iPad / phone’s microphone - hit “stop” at the end of your session - it thinks (not for long at all - just a matter of seconds even for minutes of audio) and gives you your transcript. You can play back the recorded audio whilst listening to the audio. This really is terrific. The free version allows up to 30 minutes cumulatively of audio to be processed . I have payed for whisper pro - unlimited audio transcription, BUT it crashes loads !!! I have uninstalled the app, reinstalled it - made sure I’m running the latest iOS (16.7) all apps up To date, restarted the iPhone and iPad I’m running it on … BUT I see two bugs… No I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app - (which has not helped) but it often fails to convert the recording to text. I have found - if I put my phone / iPad in aircraft mode for example - the error “ URLSessionTask failed with error: The Internet connection appears to be offline.” Is returned. If I take the iPhone off aircraft mode - the transcript is not completed. This is a real problem for me as I want to use this when out and about “. Even at home - The internet as always can be flakey - so this pops up frequently. I have also seen the following error a number of times “ Response could not be decoded because of error: The data couldn't be read because it isn't in the correct format.” Given all processing is internal to the app (you cannot import memos, video, files or other audio) this is very odd. I am running whisper on iOS 16.7 for an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and on an iPad running iOS 16.7. All apps have been updated, there is plenty of spare memory and I have restarted both devices. . So unless these errors get resolved, Give this a swerve as this makes it sadly completely unusable. I want to love this. Pleeaaasse bug fix this. ### 3/5 — Very good AI transcription app-- but uses the internet *2023-07-29* This is a very professional and smoothly running app that transcribes speech to text well. However, this app does not run offline-- it uses the internet so must use a cloud server to actually do the transcribing. That is reasonable as likely best able to use the most powerful Whisper AI speech model to do so, but it would be best if the developer indicates it transmits the user's data over the internet in its listing on the App Store (as other Whisper based AI transcription apps on the app stores don't-- they transcribe user data on the user's mobile device). If the developer made it more clear on the App Store that it transmits user data over the internet, I would rate the app at 5 stars. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Ne fonctionne pas, arnaque *2026-02-14* L’appli ne fonctionne pas. Et pire que ça il n’y a aucun moyen de se contacter le support pour annuler mon abonnement ### 1/5 — TERRIBLE paid option!! Will Trash your work. *2026-01-12* Alright, I have to report this app! This has been five times at least now that it has thrown away my work. I paid for this relatively soon after I started working with it, but then every month or so it somehow logs me out of my subscription and doesn't tell me. I will be dictating something for like 5 minutes (that I can NOT get back) then finish and hit stop, and THEN it thinks that I'm not using the paid option, and have hit my limit. YES, it lets me make it all the way to the end of 4 or 5 minutes, and THEN it pops up its stupid window saying “you've reached the end of your 30-day trial. You need to pay for it.” And it throws away my audio. It is GONE and there's no way I can get it back. It's so frustrating and I am just sick of this. This is such a stupid developer mistake! I will dictate this whole thing and all that will come up is the word “you.” I paid the subscription, but it also tells me there is an error. So I am done with this product. I am totally impressed. *2023-12-05* I first bought the around $40 expensive software called Whisper Transcription. And I was not happy with it, so I purchased this software. What should I say? I'm impressed. If you can add an option to get my dictation directly into my Word or Pages document, I would pay at least $40 for the software. And please add, in the meantime, the function to easily copy the text that I have dictated into the Mac so that I can pass it into the software wherever I want it. ### 5/5 — Best Audio to Text App *2023-11-21* I have been researching QuickTime audio to text converters and found Whisper to be the ‘Go to app’ - it’s very quick and accurate.
