## What is Whisperoni?

Whisperoni is private, end-to-end encrypted messaging — your conversations stay between you and the people you choose.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• End-to-end encrypted — only you and the person you're messaging can read what's sent. We can't read your messages and we don't store them.
• No sign-up, no phone number, no email required.
• Conversations live on your devices, not the cloud.

START A CONVERSATION
Pair with someone by sharing a QR code. They scan it, you approve the connection, and it becomes a secure 1-on-1 that belongs only to the two of you. You pick a display name for each conversation — nothing more.

YOU'RE IN CONTROL
• Every chat starts with your approval — no one can reach you unless you accept.
• Report or block the other person from inside any chat.
• End a conversation and it's removed for both sides. Clear everything on your device in one tap, anytime.

For people who value privacy, safety, and conversations that stay between the people in them.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-09-09

1. Added push notifications
2. Photos now open full screen with pinch to zoom. Press and hold a photo to save or copy it. Fixes photos showing as thin bars in long chats.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-08

Link previews: type a link and a preview with the page title and thumbnail appears above the composer before you send. Both sides then see a preview card with the thumbnail, title, description and site name above the message, and the link itself is underlined and tappable. You can remove the preview with the x button before sending.

Links open the right app: tapping a preview card, a link or a socials chip opens the matching app when it is installed (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, Telegram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp), with the browser as a fallback. The socials picker now also includes TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube and Telegram.

Copy anything: press and hold any message to copy it. When a message contains a link or a phone number, you also get options to open or copy the link, call the number, open it in WhatsApp, or copy it.

Phone numbers: numbers with a country code become tappable. Tap to call, open WhatsApp, or copy.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-05
