The classic game of whist is a plain-trick game without bidding for 4 players in fixed partnerships. There are four players in two fixed partnerships. Partners sit facing each other. A standard 52 card pack is used. The cards in each suit rank from highest to lowest: A K Q J 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2. The player to the dealer's left leads to the first trick. Any card may be led. The other players, in clockwise order, each play a card to the trick. Players must follow suit by playing a card of the same suit as the card led if they can; a player with no card of the suit led may play any card. The trick is won by the highest trump in it - or if it contains no trump, by the highest card of the suit led. The winner of a trick leads to the next.When all 13 tricks have been played, the side which won more tricks scores 1 point for each trick they won in excess of 6. Please can somebody fix this or tell me how to. Is there a fix in the future? gmrj ### 1/5 — Awful AI *2017-07-20* This game randomly chooses when it wants to end the game, sometimes after two hands, sometimes after 6 hands. Also the partner is horrible throws off high cards and refuses to take tricks. Also, it does seem the opposing team really gets the cards stacked. I do not recommend this game. ### 3/5 — Simplified whist *2016-11-16* This game is okay as far as play goes, but is not exactly as real whist. Also, computer AI is not perfect as my computer partner will trump my winning play, or discard a high card on a hand off suit, but then have a lower value card of the suit discarded still in the hand. All hands lost (Boston) happens two or three times more than real play. No matter what you have Your partner never has the right next card to play. When there is no trump, the opposing team always, always wins. ### 1/5 — Epilepsy *2016-08-12, version 2.1* This app is ok but dangerous to anyone who suffers from epilepsy due to the flashing advertisement banner. Please get it removed. ### 1/5 — Latest version unplayable *2016-03-06* A very misguided update. Dealing the hands feels interminable as the animation is significantly slower. If you stop in the middle of the game, there is no way to resume - you must restart the entire game, not just the current hand. Played and enjoyed the previous version consistently, but deleted this current version. Quite a disappointment. ### 2/5 — Bring back previous versions of Whist (Free) *2016-03-02* In Whist (Free), the current version deals cards in real time. It is painfully slow. Previous versions did not have this problem. Your partner in Whist (Free) plays poorly and it is not only frustrating, it detracts from the fun. She trumps my cards or holds onto good cards until they can't be played. Bring back the older versions. ### 1/5 — Needs rules clarified *2016-02-24* Edited: I just deleted the game and dropped my rating to 1 star. The longer I played, the worse the hands I was dealt became. Just not worth my time. I am a fan of Jane Austen and became curious about the game. It is fun, but there needs to be more explanation of the rules. From the "Help" section, I thought the game was over when a team reached 7 points. But the game continues.
