I cannot change the volume levels for the "Ambience" items any more. They are now stuck with only two volume options - either off, or at the level they were set at before the issue occurred. The sliders are not responsive at all. That said, the app is overall still very usable, so give it a try anyway. ### 4/5 — Great for babies *2019-06-27, version 1.1* I had to pay to get rid of the ads. I would have rather paid for the app itself on principle but hey. However, once that’s out of the way the brown noise generator is great for soothing my 4 week old and I love the feature where you can mix ambient sounds together. And if you happen to turn the noise on before the ad pops up, the app crashes and you have to open it again. The ambient noises were a pleasant surprise, they actually fit in well and they aren't repetitive. The ads don't really get in the way either. I had a lot of trouble sleeping before I started listening to noise - sometimes I was up all night, and then I'd just be tired all day. This works like a charm. I get to sleep and stay asleep, and I feel well rested even if I don't get much sleep. ### 5/5 — Very good for sleep *2016-10-15, version 1.1* I really like the lower pitch brown noise with the oscillating option. The app works well now. Great job! ### 5/5 — Miracle sleep *2016-10-13* Like many I bought this ad for my newborn (and me.) brown noise is me favorite and the app is highly customizable with a great UI. I haven't had any ads with sound but just gave the donation to be safe. Their new business model requires you to view ads to get *usage time*. Absurd. However it appears to start playing itself again once the earbud has turned off and plays through the speakers of the phone and wakes me up! This should be removed from the App Store. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great for Tinnitus sufferers because it has oscillations *2022-02-28, version 2.0* White noise is great for a number of reasons but if you are a tinnitus sufferer with a very irritating white noise screeching sound 24/7/365, then the audiologist recommends that you use a white noise similar to your tinnitus at a similar volume to it but that it oscillate so that it tricks your mind into paying attention to the noise instead of your tinnitus. It really helps the habituation process so that your tinnitus related anxieties are greatly reduced or eliminated. Please note that nothing actually eliminates the tinnitus.
