I had not heard of different colored noise frequencies but the idea seemed weird enough to be true. I also knew I wanted ambient music and rain sounds, so I looked for an app with all these things, and here we are. You can layer as many noises as you want, so I layered some ambient music over the brown noise, which is a lower pitch than white noise (sounds like a flowing river or heavy rain rather than TV static). Anyway, with the app going, I think I was asleep inside of ten or fifteen minutes. Totally worth the 3 or 4 bucks I paid. The only complaint I have so far is there is no BACK button on any of the sub-menus so you just have to constantly close them out and go back to the main screen, then open the menu again. Don't get me wrong; I don't mind paying for a good or useful app! But to badgered and harassed by the ads into paying? No, not in a hundred years. Over the last several weeks they have introduced audible ads once you try and turn on noise for bed. Seriously? I’m sleepy and trying to relax and you decide that’s a great time to run a dissonant sounding ad?? Also, if someone calls or texts (even if you’re phone is on ‘silent’ mode) while you’re using this app, the noise will shut off. To continue, you will have to restart.
