White Risk is the Swiss platform for avalanche prevention and was awarded Best Swiss App in 2025. It is designed and developed at the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF and is aimed at everyone who travels in winter mountain terrain outside secured ski slopes. In addition to the avalanche bulletin and current snow and measurement data, White Risk includes a trip planning tool specialized for ski touring, snowshoe routes and freeride. Draw your own routes, analyze the terrain using avalanche terrain maps and automatic cruxes, and plan alternatives. Through e learning, White Risk conveys avalanche knowledge and deepens it with interactive lessons and exercises. Tour planning: Draw routes along paths or ski routes or freely across the terrain and store all relevant information about your tour in one place. Automatic cruxes: White Risk analyzes your route, automatically marks potentially critical cruxes and complements them with relevant avalanche and terrain information. Traces de randonnée hivernale non disponibles via cette appli mobile! *2025-12-30* En 2025, je découvre avec stupeur après m’être inscrit que les traces de randonnée hivernale ne sont pas proposé sur le fond de carte IGN ( alors que le calque est proposé pour la suisse et l’Autriche). Pour une appli destinée à la préparation des courses de ski de randonnée, c’est un comble. ### 1/5 — Nur Bedingt kontinuierliche Auskünfte *2024-05-21* Aktuell herrschen Heftige und nur schwer einschätzbares Lawinenrisko im Alpengebiet.Die App sieht es Vor zu einem bestimmten Datum einzustellen,da es wohl aus Entwickler Sicht die Lawinen „Saison“ beendet ist.Woher kommt diese überhebliche Sichtweise?Prompt standen wieder etliche Menschen durch Lawinemabgänge am letzen Wochende und das Bulletin wieder aufgenommen!Sieht so ein Ende der Lawinen Saison aus?Die Entwickler sollten mal Ihr Ego zurückstellen und erst dann das Arbeiten einstellen/verringern wenn auch das allgemeine Lawinenrisko merklich mit der Zeit abnimmt und sich nicht an einem bestimmten Datum orientieren.Kurz:Mehr den Verstand einsetzen und Sich für Lebensrettumg einsetzen! **Developer response:** Ciao Hellsy0504 Danke für dein Feedback. Die Lawinensaison ist noch nicht beendet, aber beschränkt sich aktuell insbesondere auf das Hochgebirge. Hauptgrund für die Einstellung des Lawinenbulletins ist, dass der Lawinenwarndienst des SLF für das Hochgebirge kaum Informationen hat (keine automatischen Stationen, kaum mehr Rückmeldungen aus dem Gelände). Aus diesem Grund werden Lawinenbulletins in den Winter-Randmonaten und im Sommer nur bei grösseren Schneefällen publiziert, wo eine Einschätzung v.a. auf Basis der vorhergesagten Neuschneemengen möglich ist. Touren im weglosen Hochgebirge verlangen generell und auch bezüglich Einschätzung der Lawinengefahr ein höheres Mass an Kenntnissen, Erfahrung und Eigenverantwortung als Touren in mittleren und tiefen Lagen und auf angelegten Wegen. ### 1/5 — die Schweizer versuchen, mit allem Geld zu machen… *2024-01-16* …sogar mit dem Lawinenlagebericht :-( Ohne Abo bietet diese doch recht speicherintensive App lediglich grobe graphische Informationen zu Neuschnee, Schneehöhe und Lawinenwarnstufe. Falls man Text sucht mit Infos zu Wetter und Schneefall / Wind der letzten Tage bzw Wochen (wie man das aus den Nachbarländern gewohnt ist): leider Fehlanzeige. Dafür wird einem ständig ein Abo mit (für mich) fragwürdigem Nutzen angeboten. Schade! **Developer response:** Besten Dank für die Rückmeldung. Du kannst grosse Teile der App auch ohne Abo nutzen. Neben dem Lawinenlagebericht kriegst du Zugriff zu über 150 Messstationen in der Schweiz welche aktuelle Daten zu Temperatur, Wind und Schnee liefern und noch viel mehr. A quand le suivi des itinéraires lors de la création des traces? *2020-08-23* App très utile et fonctionnelle! Maintenant que la nouvelle app Swisstopo est sortie, on découvre qu'il est possible de suivre les chemins lors de la création de traces 🤩 alors on voudrait la même fonction dans whiterisk: si on clique des points qui suivent approximativement une ligne documentée (cad un tour de la couche ski de rando), la trace suit automatiquement cette ligne, sinon on crée un segment depuis le dernier point (comme dans la version actuelle).
