## What is Whittle?

Whittle is the fastest way to see what your daily word puzzle can still be.

Screenshot your grid mid-game, share it to Whittle (or pick it from your photos), and the board is read automatically — letters and colors. Instantly see every word that still fits your clues.

AND THE HISTORY. For each possible word, Whittle shows whether it has already been a past answer, how many times, and how long ago — because yesterday's answer is rarely today's.

• Solve from a screenshot: no retyping your guesses
• Or type guesses manually — results update live with every letter
• Likely answers first: common answer-pool words up top, obscure dictionary words tucked behind a tap
• "Used 2× · last seen 63 days ago" badges on every past answer
• Spoiler-safe: today's own answer is never counted or revealed
• Private by design: your screenshots are processed entirely on your device and never uploaded. No accounts, no ads, no tracking.

Works with light, dark, and high-contrast color themes.

Whittle is an independent companion app and is not affiliated with any word game or its publisher.

### 5/5 — Best Wordle Helper Ever!

*2026-08-13*

I love this app when I need a little help solving Wordle. Before I used to go to one app and manually entered in my guesses to discover the remaining possible word choices. With that list, I would then cross reference it against a list of words previously used in Wordle. Now all I have to do is screenshot my board, send it to Whittle and it gives me all that information at once. My average Wordle score has gone down since using it!
