## What is WhoDo?

The same WhoDo app runs on iPhone, iPad - put WhoDo on ALL your iOS devices!
With Family Sharing - everybody in your family can also use WhoDo!
You don't need to launch an application to use WhoDo!
Just select the desired text in any application and use the Share action!
If Share is unavailable or inconvenient, you can also use 'Copy' and then switch to WhoDo.
Whenever you open WhoDo it immediately assesses the current clipboard for contact data.

WhoDo can handle multiple rows in a spreadsheet - this works best if you include the header row

WhoDo has a very minimal user interface - it has a single purpose and is designed to be the least possible interruption in your workflow.
WhoDo uses Apple's data detectors and natural language processing.

Download WhoDo for free - you can then create 3 contacts to verify WhoDo's functionality.

After you have created the 3 free trial contacts you must make an in-app purchase.
2 weeks usage - 99¢
1 year usage - $3.99
Permanent license - $7.99
WhoDo does NOT use subscriptions - there are no automated renewals.
You can purchase either of the short term usages as many times as you need.

WhoDo can:
• assign the new contact to a specific Account (e.g. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, ...)
• assign the new contact to a Group (if Groups are supported in the Account)
• create either a Person or an Organization
• assign unlabelled values with either Work or Home labels
• automatically capitalize names of all types
• automatically supply the area code for casual phone numbers
• populate the new contact's ‘Note’ with text of your choosing; you can also add the date & time of creation as well as the full text of source data.
• provides the contact in an editable Contact view for your final approval before you Save
• each time you open WhoDo it can provide the contents of the clipboard for use a new contact
so you can 'Copy' and then open WhoDo if that is more convenient than using 'Share'
• extract multiple contacts from Numbers - best if you include the header row
you can elect to process multiple contacts individually or in one bulk action.

WhoDo works with iOS 15.4 and later

### 1/5 — No longer functions. Avoid this app.

*2023-03-20*

Update March 2023:
Absolutely not-working. Text copied to clipboard, opened WhoDo, clicked 'Create' to add it Contacts, and NOTHING happens. No dialog confirmation, nothing. Click create multiple times and it's a dead end. App does nothing. Has stopped working, yet it's STILL AVAILABLE IN THE APP STORE?? Come on Apple, what's up with this????

Update Jan. 2023:
-Appears to have been abandoned by the developer? Now crashes reliably when trying to create a new contact, and very difficult to find an email contact for the developer. Very disappointing.
---------------------------------

This will be a great addition to anyone's workflow, and provides the missing link between Apple's Data Detectors and creation of new contacts from the clipboard. However I find the interface cluttered and a bit difficult to navigate, and often it simply does not grab the current clipboard contents, instead opening to what was previously pasted there from the last session. And I wish it would appear as an option in the Share Sheet, so it I could simply highlight some text and then invoke WhoDo with a Right-click from the Share Sheet.

**Developer response:** Hello There;

Better late than never I guess... I just didn't understand my ability to respond to these reviews until today!

Version 2.0.2 is current version and does fix quite a number of issues since you posted.
Please contact developer@swampdog.info for more information and a promotional code to try and rectify the bad experience.

### 5/5 — Works as Advertised

*2020-05-01*

I use it primarily for integration into Daylite, super useful to get my contacts into my database, I primarily use the hot key for select text, or the keyboard entry for getting data in, I often research prospects online and this save me loads of time and effort on getting real estate prospects loaded into Daylite.

**Developer response:** Well Thank-You!
Please let me know @ developer@swampdog.info of any issues you encounter.
I'm constantly trying to improve the product.

### 3/5 — Works better than standard contact grab 3.5 stars for now

*2020-03-05, version 2.0.2*

Works better than standard "smart" contact grab that functions in Mail and other areas.

It misses fewer fields. It is not entirely intuitive and does occasionaly drop fields or miss items that show-up and/or are edited in the "editable preview" section.

It may be that I am still a newbie with it.

Also, a bit slow sometimes.

It is very close to 4 stars.

I did not have the issue to purchase as another reviewer had.

### 2/5 — Seems interesting, but unable to purchase

*2019-07-17, version 1.3.9*

Cannot purchase this item. it looks as if it could be very helpful, but pointless if the inapp purchase doesn't seem to work
